Umm if I were to lose my account would i be held responsible for giving them the password ? If the person who did it was found would their account be banned? My friend had the this problem and wants to know what happens. She told me the person that accessed through her account was a friend and stole everything...

They'd probably say "You gave them the password, you're SOL"
IMO, as soon as you give someone your password, it's no longer your account, it's shared, and they can do whatever the hell they please with it.
However, I don't know if the one who stole the stuff would be banned or not. Sounds likely, but you never know with SE GMs.

As for them.. I doubt they'd be banned, it would be your fault pretty much for giving them the info, but I'm not a POL staff member, couldn't tell ya for sure.
