Arent there like a million topics on LL? I cant udnerstand HOW people have problem camping her. I had np camping it when boots werent EX and I was like a level 20 THF n00blet. Its really not that d@mned hard... takes about as much skill as Bubbling Bernie.

Good luck with Leaping Lesbian everyone, it can really be a bitch even if the spawn area is small (then, I've never camped her with Widescan as I have never levelled RNG), but just keep at it and you'll get it eventually. :x Even if you go 0/60 like my friend...>< lol

I was 1/1 on leaping lizzy, camped for 40 mins alone and pop as 37THF/16RNG(gimp yeah but w/e worked)

Valk emp camped for about 6 hours, got 4 straight pops in a row and was 1/4, was 37THF also but friend kept me alive during fight.

Luck? eh maybe, I don't usually have that much but got them both in 2 days so I was happy

LL spawns- random? can't say cause i wasn't there long. VE always poped in the north western pop of it's area.

On my toon I'm :-

1/3 Leaping Lizzy as SAM25/WAR
2/2 Valkurm Emperor as SAM35/WAR camped with DRK50 friend and we got 2 consecutive pops and drops
1/1 Argus as SAM50/WAR Due to lots of work IRL I just stayed logged in for about 2 weeks trying to get a ToD. Bang there he was. 1 "2hr" later and he was dead.

IMO NM's are piss to camp. I'm a patient person, I also read up on them. I don't mind the long waits. And to prove it's a shitter sometimes....

For last xmas for my bro in law, I got onto his character and camped LL for him.

1/29 within about 2 days. For some reason I seem to have luck with NM's. I'd say some skill/patience is involved too.
If you have the correct knowledge of your target and patience you can attain that target. My buddy claimed Mee Deggi with Carby's "Sic" so ya can't say RMT > all as a backing argument .

Damn 0/50+ on Poisonhand too.

Kay, I'm going to speak from personal experience on this NM, and I've camped it too many damn times.

Currently 0/34 with either TH1 or TH2, never without any TH.

Minimum respawn time is 10 minutes on the DOT. I've forced her respawn twice in one hour because of that. If she doesn't repop 10 minutes after dying, then she won't spawn again till a minimum of 1hr later. Just kill every liz within the pop area.

The rest of the information is currently correct that I've seen, it is the 5th liz in each group, but there's so many people there that I just kill every liz in the pop zone hoping for the faster respawn.

One other trick I've noticed with this, go for a lower job to camp with. I usually went as thf/rng, but could never get boots. I'd always 1-shot liz with a bolt if it criticalled, or with one dagger swing if I claimed with steal. Levelled THF up quite a bit though, and I've heard from SO many friends that go with lower jobs and have to actually fight to kill her, that the drop rate is much better. Give that a shot as well, and good luck on her.

By the way, my drop rate isn't horrible because I don't claim her, people get mad at me when I'm there because I get them ALL. One day I camped for 8 hours and claimed 11/12 pops, I just had to go AFK for one to yanno.. visit that thing we call life X.x;

This is absolute bollocks. It's a 100% lottery pop just like Sozu "i'm a stupid" Rogberry.

I'm 3/7 on it. I killed it as THF45+/RNG20 every time. What people say about it only having 2 Place Holders is bang on true.

What people say about it's minimum repop time is utter crap. First time i camped it i got it to pop after 20 minutes. I got my boots. I sent a /tell to the nubby RNG who ran off when i turned up (he didn't like the idea of Flee + Widescan) and the next PH that should have popped after LL was again LL. It was 5 minutes i had to wait. I used the RNG JA's "Scavenge" and "Sharpshot" to time the PHs (they both take 5 minutes to refresh... perfect!). It then popped again after 20 minutes and then again after another 40. I wasn't there for the 2nd two pops but i was in the zone (looking for Carnero) and in his PT so i knew he wasn't BSing.

I killed it once when passing about 2 months before this with no success. This kid got his boots too.

I got another mate his boots too when i ran through the area as THF/RNG omw to farm somewhere twice in one day and both times got it to pop after one round of placeholders. The 2nd time yielded the boots. I have a Millionaire's Desk in my MH btw (for the sake of stirring rumours!)

I've only ever found 3 mobs to fail to satisfy my TH lovin'. Sozu (0/2) Hoo Mjuu (0/4) and Deadly Dodo (1/9).

More of the same, but I have a few things that helped me claim it a bunch of times before I got the drop (1/30 or somethingabouts). I suggest BST widescan. At /37 the area visible in wide scan is the four positions it can pop. Rng scan is huge and so there will be more mobs on the wide scan list. I didn't know about a specific PH. If I was camping against a lot of people I would pick a square and set up camp. Less people I'd run around the four squares killing every lizard. It worked for me. A lot of people are half paying attention when they camp this. I've seen it pop next to people half a dozen times and they don't do anything.
To the point! You want wide scan, flee, and something you can use to claim while you are moving. /BST37 gives you wide scan and charm. I dunno if shadowbind works while you are moving or not for RNG. I've never tried, but if it does that's another option. As long as you have flee or dare I say strider's. :here
BST50+/THF25+ one of the best claimers for LL and VE, IMO.
Don't use TH. I killed it a lot of times as thf/war and never got drop. I think I was Rdm/Bst when I finally got mine.

took a weekend away from xp and camped for 12 hours getting 18 claims in a row with th2 before getting my boots D:

a few months later my friend was camping LL and i went out to help him...we were there for about 40 min and LL pops on my radar so i run over to him and a naked char with a name like alkdjhfaoiebvasd or some shit was killing it then went on auto run after he killed it... i was so pissed...so we fumed for a few min then were leaving and LL pops right ontop of us as we are leaving (about 5min yea) got the boots ftw ^^

took me a week to get empress pin tho...didn miss a claim *thumbs up*1/23...

Standing roughly North of the tall rock at F-8 the 2 groups you are after are as follows.

There will be a third group near the bottom of the list but it normally has only 4 or maybe 5. Do not worry about them. All you need to do is keep tabs on the 5th Lizzy in group 1. THF/RNG is the ideal for flee + widescan. Personally I used darts as my claim method but steal/mug works as well.

Each time the 5th one pops, target it and kill it, then use Sharpshot immediately to give yourself a little room. Watch the timer countdown, then start spamming Wide Scan until you see the 5th one again, or Leaping Lizzy in its place. Keep in mind that Lizzy can pop there, or at the bottom of group 2 as #6. Just keep on your toes, and maybe camp at night for fewer people.

I camped him for about 30 total hours over a spam of 3 days and claimed all but one (popped right in front of a low level who engaged right before I got there).

*Other Notes*
-Spawn time on LL is about 2 hours, HOWERVER, there are actually two (2) LLs which is why it can pop within 5 minutes of ToD.
-Since there are two, in all my time camping, when LL popped it alternated between popping on the east side of the rock (top) and the west side (bottom). So if you just killed it on one side, you can assume the next pop will be on the other side of the rock, and position yourself accordingly.
-Only ONE (1) Placeholder. Yes, that's right, 1. You ONLY need to kill the 5th lizard in the top group. This will still allow the LL to pop in either group.
-Pop time appears to be faster when no one is is killing the rock lizards. When all rock lizards are being killed, I've seen the LL pop take over 5 hours (average for me was 1 hour pops).

Leaping Lizzy is probably one of the easiest NMs in the game to claim, as long as you research before you go out there so you're not running around hoping it pops right in front of you, or spamming widescan for hours on end. Widescan+Flee is unstoppable on LL.

As for VE goes, same methods apply, just look up which is the PH. Easily done as THF/RNG and you can do other things in between PH pops (watch tv, read, whatever)

Honestly, I don't believe you. If you've sat there camping lizzy that many times since the NA release of FFXI, you needa get some damn air. Hell, you could be dead already, and we wouldn't even know. (Yes, I do realize that it would only have been once every couple days if you break it down, but considering doing that for that many years straight... /dies)

And for those of you being slightly shocked that he can pop 5 mins after dying, it happens alot.

He can pop from what it looks, between 1-10 minutes after death, and if no pop then, he'll pop next hour.
