Any time someone says that the game is dying, my first thought will be "Can you show me some market data"? It's actually encouraging to me that none of these threads ever contain actual data on subscription rates.

Its kinda hard to provide actual subscription numbers to back a claim when the company no longer gives out the info (or last I heard they didnt anymore)

Ever notice when a game is on the rise... the company gives exact numbers and sorta "brags"... and when they cap off or are in decline... they suddanly lose the urge to update subscription numbers?


That said I still dont consider this game even close to being dead... It will be around along time even if the population continues to drop

Altho it wouldent suprise me considering their previous posts didnt make much sense when they were on the correct topic anyway...

This game will never die unless people stop buying gil + accounts plain and simple.

The whole concept of this game is getting boring though HNM/Drama/Pretty much whore yourself to Jp's to help you/no life blah blah kind make you think after a while of "How the fuck I got myself into this shit?"

FFXI Gil Farming Guide

Yeah FFXI is dying in some ways. Less frequent updates are being made for this game. Remember when we had patches like almost every month that bolstered new content? Yeah.. a new patch comes around about every 2-3 months now.
A certain website on the net which provides "Strategy Guides" for FFXI also hosts exploits, bots and hax or "macros" which is ruining FFXI [I'm looking at you NMbot ( ].

The new game a lot of buddies of mine and I are going to play is vanguard. It has 15 races and 17 jobs. It sounds like the next gen mmorpg. You and your guild can have land property rights, and cities can be built instead of made. You can make ships with a combination of different people crafting. What makes it even sweeter, is you start on a horse around level ten, in later levels you can ride flying creatures. If this is a game many of you are thinking of playing let me know, unless you have hard of a better MMO coming out

Bro got into Vanguard Saga of Heroes MMO beta....

That is the WORST game I've EVER laid my eyes upon... It isn't even ready for beta....

Everybodys entitled to their opinions.... Ive been in Vanguard Beta for over a month now and think the game has great potential...
The last few weeks of open beta stress testing has been difficult to judge... They have been patching every day... and like all betas ive been in the game is a work in progress...

Is the game going to compare at launch with FFXI at NA release? Of course not... FFXI was released a year ahead of time in JP... I have no idea how FFXI was at release or in beta...

I have played other betas... and its pretty much the same as every other game at this stage... as far as bugs and server stability goes..


That said.... Vanguard is going to be launched in a few days and I am definatly buying it...
I just love the character creation... crafting system... housing... and the flying mounts


How the end game will be is the real question... wont know that for awhile...

i saw that the game was coming out soon. if its as buggy as yall say it is and its coming out in a few days i dont see how this game has any potential. i'm pretty sure ffxi was like wow in that there were huge server and lag issues at release but the code worked for the most part.

i wouldnt buy a game that didnt work correctly.

Vanguard works.

I quit FFXI and joined Vanguard Beta mid Dec.
In Dec. Vanguard was very choppy on even the best of systems.

Today, when the servers go live, yes you will still need a decent system, but you deffinately don't need the highest end video card to enjoy the game.
Headstart begins today, full release starts Tuesday.
Any review of the game prior to Jan 15 is just wrong... not because it contains incorrect statements for the time of the review, but because Vanguard patched, and fixed sooo much in the final week of Beta.

I look forward to creating my character later today, and I am not looking back to FFXI at all.

I'm not going to say that FFXI is dieing, because it's a matter of opinion, but it died for me, the day I got my Vanguard Beta invite.
Vanguard does seem to be a good fit to an ex-ffxi player, where WoW just seems to "easy mode" Vanguard steps up with good challenges.

i have to disagree. i gotta admit it's pretty easy to get things as compared to ffxi. but as a stand alone game, it still has its share of challenges and everything requires work. every now and then you get the person like joana who level 1-60 in 4 days, thats the equivilant of that other person who leveled 1-75 in a week and change. and for the endgame the bosses are pretty hard. i cant say the game is w/o flaws: raids take a long time. 6hr raids isnt uncommon. the jobs is unbal;anced. if you want to pwn in pvp, dont roll a warrior period. and thx to being able to kill anyone at will ther is alot of assholes

you played the game so your entitled to yor opinion but everyone else who has a pre-determined opinion on WoW without playing it, i suggest you do you migjht like it

Welp.... Played Vanguard a good 5 or so hours today after its live release... And I must admit this game has come a long way the final 2 weeks...
I was having an absolute blast... This is the game that I will be playing as my main for a long time...

I played the game an hour or so on my older computer... just to see how it runs it... And they really have done a lot to help the older machines play the game since open beta...



On a side note: LOTRO is running a stress test beta this weekend and I of course was invited.... Its like a mix between WOW and DDO (with a LOTR theme of course)
It is definatly looking to target WOWs playerbase....

sony seems to be mainly interested in shitty remakes, worse ports on old games and sequel rehash after rehash so you hopefully will be in luck! :cry
