Vanguard looks good, but do not judge a book by its cover. When I heard of Lineage2 I was like omfg that is going to be the best! but it was not, the only good thing about it was killing random people. Anyways, from what you say as in you can build ships and expand land, do not think its going to be realistic as in you own everything because there are limits or it is not going to be what you think its going to be like. Lineage2 screwed up, because their craft, quest, and exp system was disorganized and it sucked. Hopefully on this game, it is similar to FFXI in a way with quests and hopefully nation missions. I hope you can also have wars with other players, Braveheart style =D. Hopefully, the classes have different talents you can go in yes I have to say like WoW *Runs*, on FFXI you know everyone is going to be the same thing in party, or endgame its boring. Anyways, I said way to much and I did not organize this writing sorry about that =(.

FF11 will NEVER stop. fact of the matter is that SE will keep putting money into it because ppl keep putting money into it themselves. Look at the way the game works.

If lots of ppl began to quit in droves then SE would start to shut down servers one by one. IF FF11 was really going to die off then surely SE woulda turned off numrous servers by now and began server emigrations.

PPL believe that FF11 takes shitloads of money to run and that if ppl started to leave and the incom wasnt as high as the outcome that FF11 would shutdown. This isnt exactly the case. Considering that if the population of the servers begins to dwindle they can just shut down some servers and lay off some support staff to reduce costs.

Other games have done it and others will in the future. But FF11 is here to stay. One day they might even reveal a FF11-2 That is an enhanced version that EVERYONE has to upgrade to that you can move your existing characters to.

You never know.... all i know for certain is that FF11 is far from dead.

(it will lose customers unless they fix end game tho.. SE have no idea what they are doing to be honest...)

FFXI is still a blast for me. While that continues it's not dead to me. Did Waking the Beast with an alliance of almost all SMN's and we kicked arse! Tell me that isn't fun. ^^

everything that you say you can do in vanguard and ur making out to be so new and innovative .... has already been done in star wars galaxies -> you had a mayor (whose profession on their character was such and had to xp to learn different skills like streetlamps, increased house/building limits etc) , you could lay down player housing threatres hospitals streetlights statues the works (anyone could set down their own house, or service, mayor just had control of guildhall and streetlights >>) you could decorate your houses with any item in the game, i spent most of my time decorating lol, items could be moved on any axis within the building and the official swg forums ran weekly decorating competitions.

the down side tho ---> the entire gameworld consisted of a few NPC towns, a few dungeons, and i emphasise "few", because the rest of the gameworld is town after town built by players. literally there is nothing else to do. the closest i can describe in relation to FF11 is imagine if the only quests or missions in the game were the nation rank 1 to 10 ones and every single outdoor field area was covered with player towns.


i do recognise tho that if there was some form of player run town or even private linkshell buildings (instead of mog house) that would indeed be cool but no.... we get additions to chocobo raising, besieged or something else that no one really cares about

I dont think that the game is dying, but like I think that SE needs to start coming out with content faster. Most updates consist of a few things, missions, equipment, and adjustments. The problem is that they only add new things to do every like 3-4 updates. The group two merits were pretty nice, but like that was the first time they had added any real new abiities in like over a year. What they need to do is add equipment, and abilities, and then release some very tough HNMs so that HNM LSs cant monopolize every single one. They need to make HNMs that cannot be manaburned, or TP burned like some of the current ones. They just added like 3 new HNMs all of which were defeated very very quickly on most servers. They need to create some new challenging HNMs and gear/ abilities that help to defeat them. Maybe they should think about adding AFv3 to the game. AF2 is becoming very obsolete for most jobs. They could add AFv3 with the addition of AFv2 for the 3 new jobs. At any rate they need to start adding bigger content to the game in their updates.
