Inflation does minimal damage to the aggregate standard of living. It hurts when someone wants to level a low-level craft; only because he/she would rely on the NPC’s fixed prices. It has a non-economic effect of pissing stupid people off, but the real value is largely the same.

But why hate gilsellers? Because the inflation in FFXI is has two side affects: the resource/product monopolization by gilsellers dampers the experience greatly, and the item proportion is constantly fluctuating based on the prior monopolization.

That's it. Those factors you mentioned are indeed things that do contribute to inflation. Nice, normal, and non-stupid people, don't care about inflation. They care about the non-economic side effects that actual damper the quality of play, or standard of living, that we face on a day to day basis. The factors you mentioned have nothing to contribute to the widespread unhappiness with monopolization. The inflationary nominal increases are offset by near immediate "wage" adjustments, keeping the real values equitable.

Here, Economics Cliff Notes 101:

- The only problems with inflation would be the adverse monopolization that creates unhappiness and price instability between keystone products. This is typically only caused by RMT.

- The inflationary nominal increases are offset in this Economy that is private, closed, and single marketed, with only NPC prices, and the few actions that depend on NPC prices, affected; leaving real value largely constant. This is done by both RMT and the irrelevance you listed

Please, Diceman, do not promote some sensation of superiority, which you ironically criticize the opposing side of containing, when you yourself lack the fundamental concepts of the subject to which you claim wisdom.

Final Fantasy is a game.... it is not real life. Games are supposed to be fun, and I guess you'll just argue "well this would be fun if fucking RMT wouldn't ruin it for us" I've heard that alot..... it's not RMT who ruin it. It's people with shitty attitudes who ruin it. (and gil buyers) I have been in Viking for over 8 months and have just recently left because of boredom, and because all of the original players who I used to be friends with left.

I don't care if Viking is RMT or not. Every claim that they get is fair, they used to use bots, but stopped after they started getting players banned. And it's hard for people to argue that they bot, when most HNM shells out there bot. But I'm not flaming other shells, they can bot their asses off if they like.

I don't really care if you flame people about being in Viking and "supporting RMT". Maybe we were. When I joined Viking I was a loot whore at first and was gonna leave after getting some sky stuff, but after a while I got to know people, and realized that it was a hell of alot better than any HNM shell I had been in before - No drama and friendly people = the perfect shell...... find me another one like it anywhere on Asura.

Most of the NA that have been in Viking in the past are good people, and if you take time to get to know a person instead of "Lol RMT GTFO and go suck GS dick" then who knows, you may be a little happier.... or something, I dunno. I've had alot of people leave experience partys just because I was there, and that's their choices, but I have never once been kicked from an experience party (except once at lvl 15 in the dunes......) I guess it's because maybe most of the people who start them aren't noobs and know not to judge a person by their LS.

I only came on here because I was bored and Blak told me to go check his funny forum on KI.... So yea.... hope you all had fun reading and you can flame me too now, or send me angry /tells in game.
