Got it on around 12th try. I tried trading enpress band, bronze imperial coins and 1 gil also. You get them back after you trade so I dont know if they count as a gift.

Not sure if anyone else has checked the JP sites but from what I can gather you have to trade the Wood Bugagrds item to one of the children, and you will randomly get an item, which they call Ogre Board, which is Lvl 1 with D2 every 264(not sure guessing this is hours maybe?).

Ogreboard is most likely the direct translation of the japanese version of the Battledore. It has the same stats and that site is basically saying the same thing the guide is saying.

I think it's "Happy New Year" in some other language, but I'm not 100% on that.

This is for all you guys wasting your stuff on trade with the Bugards. Trade something rare/exclusive to the Wood Bugard like a Signal Pearl, this way you get the gift without trading all kind of junk YOU WON'S LOSE THE ITEM. Just /follow the bugard and keep trading the item till you get the gift.

Dude the year of the rooster wasnt even 2006 it was 2005 when they had Gobbies riding on choco's now I was a noob for that event so I didnt actully do it but I did talk to the moogle for that event. anyway the zodiac goes like this Rat Ox Tiger Rabbit Dragon Snake Horse Sheep Monkey Rooster Dog Pig. so even if they where celibrating the year before that would be the dog and last year we know they where celibrating the dog cus they had Fenrir running around with all the taru's and they even said it was the year of the dog last year. so you tell me how that makes any sence?

I stopped counting at 400 trades for me and then after a hour of straight trading I got the gift. I'm in the lead so far =P
