Boshi :
Actually it means "Happy New Anus"
Ano = anus
Ańo = year
Venlo :
spanish
Vincevalentine :
I think it's "Happy New Year" in some other language, but I'm not 100% on that.
DelvinZane :
I just got two new year gifts from those things in Tahrongi Canyon. One has a description: Happy New Year! and the other has: Feliz Ano Nuevo! any clue to what the 2nd one is for ?

He's right you know. A kid in my Spanish class back in high school was supposed to write a sentence on the dry erase markerboard stating how old he was. He wrote, "Yo tengo quince anos" and my teacher laughed until he couldn't breathe.

20 stacks of arrows so I'm 0/1980.
The kicker? I was trading before my LS sky event, our PLD comes up, trades one silent oil, and gets it. :O_o

After 25 stacks of arrows I moved areas and got it within 20 trades. Maybe you have to be in an area near your hometown under hometown control or something stupid like that.

something random, but it seems the New YEars gift comes in 3 languanges.
Spanish
Feliz Ańo Nuevo!
English
Happy New Year! or whatever..
and French
Bonne annee. Which literally translates to "Good newyear"
I think.
anyway..
has anyone seen any other languages?
and to the people who arent getting any drops, try Shihei. I trades about 1 full stack and got the english Gift 3 times ,although twice it would not let me have it, cause I already had it in inventory. You can, though, hold all three of the different language gifts.

A word to the wise:
even though the buggard gives you back the rare/ex items you try to trade it, it would seem that the Tavnazian Ring is a special exception and as such the NPC will actually eat it, even though it's flagged rare/ex. Fun times.
Oh, and GMs can't do anything to retrieve it because it was traded, not dropped by accident.
Ironically, the damn buggard actually gave me the New Year's present on that trade, after 30 minutes of trading it various things.

Reiju:
So much for the new GM policy. Notice how the GM said "we only may recover items". He didnt say he doesnt have the power to do it. He likely just doesnt have permission according to policy or something. I'd contact the OCR team directly at ocr@us.playonline.com .
Stated below is the kinda work they do I think they deal with main events too. Seems they have ties to the devs.
The OCR Team
OCR stands for Online Community Relations and is part of the PlayOnline management team, mainly offering help to FINAL FANTASY XI. In particular, the OCR team carefully reviews requests and issues brought up by players and discusses them with the development team, acting as an intermediary between the players and the development team. In other words, the main duty of the OCR team is furthering healthy community relations.
Also, the OCR team takes information from the development team and announces this information to players through version updates or Topics. The OCR team also helps with player events and live events such as the US Fan Festival.
So at the very least they are the ones announcing the event on playonline.com.
If that fails fill out one of their "Bug Report" forms. (You'll get an automated answer most likely though.)
I would do everything I could because that sucks! You went through the quests they should give you another or something.

lol yea i would laugh also cause that kid litterally wrote "I have 15 anuses" where as he should have wrote "Yo tengo qunce ańos" which would mean "I have 15 years" literally or the prefered translation "I am 15 years old"
as for the Feliz Ańo Nuevo it literally translates into Happy Year New because the spanish language puts all adjectives behind the item they describe

The Christmas cakes aren't 100%, they're just a very good chance. I went 8/10.
Also, either they were all English gifts, meaning the alternate-language gifts have about a 5% rate each, or you can't hold all 3 simultaneously.

Trade Bugards a common Rare/Ex item like Beastmen's Seals (what I used) and the item won't disappear and you can constantly trade it. I've yet to obtain the item, but still, I imagine you'd get it EVENTUALLY >_>

Did the event last weekend. Heres what happened:
Traded 3 pumpkin pies to the Wooden Bugard. Recieved the New Years gift. Tried the quest again after I had completed the event. Traded 2 Pumpkin Pies. Got gift again.. is it just me or do they like sweets?? LOL
Oh and for the Moghancement... ya I got Moghancement: Money. FFXIcylopedia says "Increases amount of gil recieved."

Based on my random farming, Moghancement: Money does appear to have a Gilfinder effect. As with the actual trait, though, your mileage may vary. I'm gonna switch back to Moghancement: EXP next time I'm in San d'Oria.
