So yeah, mah name is Lunaras. Iv been gone for like four months because my motherboard or something fried. My new computer is coming in the mail tomorrow and Im going to start playing again.

But the reason I post this is to ask my fellow players of Caitsith for some information before I return.

How long am I going to be updating? I plan on snoozin during this time.
How is the economy? When I left it was really screwed up.
Are PLD and NIN still rivals or have they finally come to thiere senses and become equals?

A. I quit for around 4 months as well, I started on the 2nd of this month, but for other reasons. On Cable internet it only took me about an hour, but there have been little updates here and there, probably 1-2 hours.

A. It was really jacked up when I left aswell, it's gotten alot better than when I left, but it's still a little screwy in some parts.

every 1 is old fashion, most ppl want nin or pld but who care if ur a good DD u'll be tanking

the economy is still messed up but all i can say is SH 1.5mil or less and SH+1 2.5mill-3.2mill.
there is alot of re/ex subsitution gear to make up 4 over camped NMs/Hnm's

It's changed from a sellers market to a buyers market. Meaning prices are dropping as fools try and get rid of their items quick thinking there loosing value.

Very few mobs really need to be PLD tanked anymore. With the utilization of NIN/BRD no one can pull hate after 2~3 mazurka casts. This lets all DD blm/mellee to put out 110% of there damage capabilites.

Pld had some very nice updates for damage mitigation and hate tools but I still <3 NIN >

If you buy the FFXI: Vanadiel Collection 2007 edition, it'll take about 2.5 hours to

- install POL, FFXI, and the expansions,
- update POL, and
- update FFXI

All on a 100 Mbps connection. I'm doing that right now. Many, over 15,500 files to check. (@_@)

They'll never really be equal. Its all up to your preference on how you like to xp. If you want your mages to be bored and your DD all subbing thf and holding back you get a ninja. If you want to keep your mages awake and your DD going all out you get a pally.

As for the economy its pretty much the same across all servers. I dont remember what it was like last year this time but gil must have been cheap. These days I think the last I checked it was nearly $100 US for 3 Million gil. Hmmm. 100 bucks for a noble's tunic or a peacock charm... lol SE implemented several ways to draw gil out of circulation and banned quite a few bots and players engaging in hax and RMT. Welcome back, I dont have a WP yet but I'll be joining you soon hopefully.

As for Paladin. Paladin isn't the almighty tanker you seem to think it is. Lots of Paladins suck nowadays and some even have more trouble than a Ninja does.

Go level past 25 and go do more research.

I've played with as many shitty ninjas as I have good ones. Fuck DoT, ninja tanking is about damage mitigation and lowering mp usage. Pally tanks in most cases(good ones) will hold hate through more damage allowing DD to not restrain themselves and therefore not being mp sponges and dealing more damage to mobs.It has nothing to do with me playing with a good ninja or not, if you're pulling hate from a good ninja are you a bad DD? If you're pulling hate from a good pally are you a good DD?

I love when a nin will come on here and see someone say the job excels in some cases and pally excels in others, fling shit, then repeat what the poster they tried to fling the shit at said. Its called comprehension. You read it but do you understand it? I'll break it down for you, feel free to agree or disagree.

White mages are bored main healing good ninjas.

They will accordingly be more active healing a pally and not fall asleep.

Most of the time in a nin pt if the DD are going all out there is a thf in party or DD are /thf planting hate.

DD in pally tanked parties can use more tools to deal damage with less worry about pulling hate.

I never said nor implied that pld is better than nin or vice versa. Please quote where I said palladin is the almighty tanker. My level and server have nothing at all to do with the mechanics of the game. I dont need to do any research to figure it out.

FYI damage has everything to do with being a good ninja tanker. If a ninja is doing good DoT they can hold hate on WARs DRKs etc. w/e the hell DD you wanna name with ease. It's not uncommon for a ninja to hold hate solely from doing damage.

If the WHM gets sleepy in pts with a ninja then DONT BE A MOTHER FUCKING WHM.
If you get bored with your job don't do it then.

ninja tanking is about damage mitigation

If you think thats all Ninja is capable of then I pity you.
