Hey guys, after reading that "what is your server like" thread... I got an idea that it would be cool to see a thread (hopefully stickied if successful), about the history and the story behind our server.

This is going to be a very difficult thread, because I don't want it to dwell too much on one person, one linkshell, one event, ect ect. I want it to be all over the place with stories about ALL of our server's legends, the drama (not in a flame-war style), accomplishments. This thread should takes weeks and maybe months to fully develop and can be ongoing to represent some of the great people and things (past and present) that have happened on our server.

I'll keep up to date with editing this initial post so it makes everything easier to find. I don't want anyone to hold back on posting their story, their memories of themselves and others. I want to give some suggestions: First players that were 75, first players that got rank6, first players that got sky, first players that beat divine might, first players to camp and kill fafnir,KB,asp, first experiences in dynamis, first DL kill, first group to beat the promies, first group to get sea, the leaders and how some of the original linkshells started (foodmonsters, perfection, visusgenesis, metalrobot, sky breaker, paragon, vfs, frenzy, vanadiel heros, nephilim, inferno, junglist, criticalchaos(i think), and any other linkshell that will forever be known in the history of our server), how they broke, drama with other shells, ect...

I know with this type of thread and open input, several players will probably disagree with who was "first" or who and what is important. Let's not worry about that, if you think (realistically) that you were the first group of players to get sky, then post about it... if someone else does, post it too. TRY TO FIND OLD OLD PICTURES. Stories about some of our veterans, drama about some of our server's notorious players (myself and chronce, ect ect ). While discussing this, don't flame, just discuss how this all plays into the history of our server.

I think that about raps everything up... Once again, please post pictures if you have them, if you have dates as to when certain events happened, great too!
Goodluck guys and get going!

btw... this goes w/o saying but let's keep this about the english-speaking players

Linkshell History:

[black]FoodMonsters: Originally led by Shakara, then Neifirst, then Grifter. Created in Fall 2003.[/b][/black]

[blue]VanadielHeros: Led by Ailleen, Disbanded during the fall of 2004. Notable members: Ailleen, Pridewolf, Batang, Midnightnova, Swindler.[/b][/blue]

[sea]DropItLikeItsHot: Led by Niehaus, ended up forming into Naughtylus Led by Silverhawke. Created in Fall 2003. Notable members: Bombard.[/sea]

[black]TheExiled: Led by Azzriel. Founded when? Recently disbanded(when)? Notable members: Nightshade, Arowyn, Idoru, Godpoing, Shylocke, Doctorr, Rishona, Uglysmurf, Daison, Devilssaint, Lilbit, Kallista, Rikitoki, Shamer, Xylina, Nightmarelord, Deathsmistress, Losthopes, Kayyla, Doodles.[/black]

[green]VanaFellowship: NA LS led by JP leader Laufade. Founded when? Notable members?[/green]

[orange]Shojuken: Created by Sylis in October 2003 (PC release). Other ls leaders included Anongod, Rapiddream, Micams, Camaska, Paynekiller, Cozmo. Consisted mainly of players who originally participated in Beta test. Continued to grow with PS2 release. 100+ members. Probably one of the largest and oldest NA linkshells on carby. For a while a Shojuken II existed to make room for all the members. Has remained primarily a social ls aimed at helping newer players. People continued to come and go for years up until fall 2006 when some drama caused a deep split in the ls. Many members left and formed a new ls. Very few original members remain in Shojuken today. Notable members: Soulessknight, Bearwoof, Merrick, Grahamtwo, Stiltz, Destruct, Mythre, Snarf, Terria, Coloud (the original /random casino >.>), Juib.[/orange]

[purple]CarpeNoctem: Created by Taneria. Draconix took over after she left.Notable members: Taneria, Draconix, Zebekis, Ariana, Lordender, Unholy.[/purple]

[green]CelestialCapital: Led by Palidor. Helped many players get sky and sea. Notable members: Plop, Arikajumoni, Aleem, Blitzy, Argonom, Kaminiari, Hikiri.[/green]

[sea]Kalm: Original ls leader was Kewico. Formed the shell with raidek and pepino and a few other EQoA people that came to FFxi. Wingchild was recruited early on. The shell grew in size and then clique caused the shell to branch off into 2 or 3 other shells. Kalm still remained.

As time went on Kewico decided he wanted to return to EQoA and broke the kalm pearl. Raidek then reformed. It was done in a terrible manner and without any real warning, so it was a struggle to find and re-pearl people. Raid had more rl responsibilities (new child born) and slowly played the game less and less. Finally they gathered all of Kalm and broke the linkshell the proper way. Wingchild took over.

Wingchild merged the shell with skulkingpermit (zoey's shell iirc). They kept the Kalm name. For the most part we did AF quests and many other 50-70ish quests and killing various NMs. Kalm was also one of the few shells really getting into CoP missions and he constructed several guides of our experiences. We were right behind Foodmonsters as far as mission success went. We were one of the first NA groups to hit sea iirc, back when most shells were still stuck on the mammets. Wing has since stepped down and the shell has decreased in size a great deal. Arclight took over. Notable Members: Wingchild, Kewico, Raidek, Pepino, Zoey, Vygun, Kobain, Mandalorian, Arclight.[/sea]

[blue]BlueHaven: Founded in Winter 2003. Led by Jessieblue who mysteriously disappeared causing the ls to reform into Brotherhood. Disbanded when? Notable members?[/blue]

[black]ShadowFlame: I started SF around May-June of 2004, with Bluedoor, Pablow, Typoon, and Karson-- most of my boys moved on ; ; but I keep a pimp or too, like Awry, over there XD and and my Lil Bro Suidokin. And it's been here ever since. It's mostly a Social Shell, attempted to make it a HNM LS a few times, but it never really popped off. After a while in early 2005, the LS got a shitload of new members by guess who... none other than Sarahlee. She recruited so many damn Mifra, I had no idea wtf to do... (she was a Mifraphile... or something.) Late 2005- early 2006, alot of peeps left my LS for Inferno, Junglist, and Aggression, while some people stayed on to keep SF as a social still. I ventured of into JL myself, camped a bunch of less Zilart NMs, then hit it bigtime in Perf as a lolRNG. All the while keeping SF as my home LS still (I was like the only person in Perf that Fratley "allowed" to keep a social shell away from Perf-- this lead to some trust issues from other peeps in the LS, however).

I leave Perf mid-way just before it falls apart totally because of Yuufuu's idiocy and lootwhoring (I told you bitches in LS, didn't I? tongue.gif). And returned to my home SF fully, to handle my business. Now-a-days, alot of people have burned out, and quit for WoW, RL, or for more busy social/HNM LSes-- but it's all good, SF will still be here, and we still chillin'. Notable members: Shokox, Ahlyana, Awry, Bluedoor.[/black]

[red]TheRoninWarriors: Founded by Rowan in early 2004. This shell housed many famous/infamous members we have today. Notable members: Pridewolf, Blood, Kaminiari.[/red]

[purple]DreamWeavers: Founded in Summer 2004. Led by Midnightnova. Notable members: Midnightnova, Galadriul, Palidor, Lukeroybaljr. [/purple]

[green]THOXiC: The linkshell THOXiC was formed by Ratm around the launch of the PS2 version. He was on the server Quetzalcoatl. After a few months of Ratm telling his real life friends Silos and Trague how great this game was, Trague finally purchased a copy. Within the first week Hygro, Trague's brother, and Darkstar, Trague's neighbor, also purchased Final Fantasy XI. A week later Silos finally bought the game, and joined all of his other real life friends on the server Quetzalcoatl.

All five of them originally played a game called SOCOM II: U.S. NAVY SEALs before they played FFXI. They were in a clan, basically like a linkshell, called THOXiC. When the other four finally met back up with Ratm on FFXI, he had already created the linkshell THOXiC. Ratm was a level 42 White Mage, and various other level 30ish jobs, when they joined. Ratm pearled all four of them, geared them up, and power leveled the newbies to level 10.

Trague, a hume with dark hair, was playing the job White Mage, because he wanted a quick way to level 30 where he could finally play the job he had been waiting for, Dragoon. Silos, a hume with blonde hair, also had the same idea as Trague, but he was more interested in the job Dark Knight. Both of them raced their White Mage's to 30. Obviously, Trague attained level 30 first seeing as he had the a head start over Silos. Darkstar had a different plan in mind. He wanted to be a taru taru, but deal massive damage. His obvious choice for a job was Black Mage. Hygro also wanted to be a taru taru. Unlike Darkstar Hygro wasn't really interested in any of the standard jobs, so he picked White Mage as a quick way to level 30 just like the two humes. There were now three white mages and one black mage in the linkshell.

After a few months of leveling and trying out all the advanced jobs Silos realized he didn't like Dark Knight at all. Trague fell in love with Dragoon, and stuck with it. Darkstar was enjoying Black Mage and the levels were flying by. Hygro got to level 36 White Mage. After he got all of the teleports he stopped leveling and did quests and did tele taxis for gil. He never made it further than 37, but he played the game a lot. Ratm was steadily leveling White Mage and Warrior both. Silos decided to start back White Mage and quickly go it to level 50.

Around this time two more friends joined the game. Their names were Aesar(?) and Luek. They were both elvaans. All five of the linkshell members welcomed them to the shell and helped them get started. Soon after there was a server migration to Hades. A good friend of the linkshell Darkgame moved to Hades. He moved over there as the tarutaru Muko. He established himself as a good player on Hades. He made a lot of gil with a good HNM LS and soon became bored of the server. He traded his account for three accounts on Carbuncle.

Darkgame invited all of the THOXiC members to join him on Carbuncle. He promised more gil, more help, and better opportunities. All of the THOXiC members decided to join Carbuncle. Aesar changed his name to Saratu, Trague changed his name to Astis, Luek changed his name to Vampyre, Darkstar changed his name to Nitto, and Hygro changed his name to Kyrus.

Nitto didn't like Carbuncle so he went back to playing on Darkstar. He manaburned to level 75 and then quit playing. Kyrus also didn't like Carbuncle so he quit playing all together. Everyone else continued to play on Carbuncle. Darkgame quit and gave away his three acounts to Silos, Ratm, and Saratu.

Saratu and Vampyre staryted getting in big arguements with Ratm and they left the linkshell. They formed their own linkshell DeadEndKids. Saratu quit when he got level 75 Dark Knight. Vampyre quit at level 60 Warrior. DeadEndKids lasted until they quit.

For about a year Silos, Ratm, and Astis played together in THOXiC. They helped eachother with everything. It was a very tight group of friends. Being the last three members still playing they decided to make a pact. They wouldn't join an end game linkshell unless all three could join. Ratm already had two level 75 jobs as Silos and Astis were approaching 70. All three joined KoopaTroopaz and THOXiC died.

The three moved through a couple of end game linkshells. Silos was feeling bored with the game and decided to quit at level 70. Ratm and Astis left their end game likshell and remade THOXiC. It is still running to this day, even though neither of them play too often. Notable members: Darkgame, Saratu, Astis, Vampyre, Nitto, Kyrus, Silos, Ratm.[/green]

[grey]TheFinalFantasy: [/grey][black]Founded by Mythre towards the end of 2005. Social LS that attempted sky. Due to leadership issues, sky was a failure, and many of the members left out of frustration. The linkshell disbanded shortly after. Notable members: Mythre, Sesshoumaru, Taruson, Grahamtwo, Dimitrius, Grayvus, Darkonix, Pergo, Lexis, Ardanos, Yvain.[/black]

=-=-=-=[blue]Celestial[grey]^^[purple]Nephilim[black]=-=-=-=

[blue]Celestial: Celestial was founded by a player named Xangel, that came from Ragnarok Online. Celestial's founding members were Xangel, Melmeow, Arianna, Tigerheart, Razael, Paeng, and a handful of others, that had been a part of other games organized systems. Celestial recruited under the same basic principal that Nephilim does, that Celestial wanted to recruit good players before all else.

In the beginning of Celestial, the members bonded very quickly, because those members shared with each other all of the nuances of the game that they picked up singularly. They shared details about how to make macros, where to go to group and level, and many other facets to playing the game that so many of us take for granted. To make an association to the youthfulness of Celestial to the rest of the world, Sarizaddi, one of Celestial members that focused on questing, was responsible for 4 submissions of quests to Allakhazam and a game guide at Allakhazam, a site that many many of the players in North America today look to for guidance. Melmeow was one of the very first North American players to achieve level 30 in multiple classes. We were young then, and our endeavors impressive considering the circumstances.

But like all new things, we hit a bump. Xangel saw after the fact that she was more akin to be the only leader for Celestial LS, but had already made Melmeow a sackholder. Without outcasting and confronting Melmeow, Xangel's only recourse was to break the Celestial LS and form a new one, where in the new one she wouldn't invite Melmeow to join, and wouldn't invite Sarizaddi to join, because Sarizaddi was quickly rising to the point where she was "challenging" Xangel's sole leadership role, and Melmeow was growing favor as the favored member. To keep her linkshell under her rule, neither had a place.

Celestial's break-up had been personal, and not necessarily that I was taking sides, but Mel had been more supportive to me than Xangel was becoming (understandably because, pardon my french, I had wound up on her Sh*t list somehow). So we, the core of Celestial, reformed in lower Jueno. We talked about what had happened, who was "to blame", and how to fix it. In those decisive moments, we decided to come up with a name for the new linkshell. The name was finally agreed upon, and I say finally, but please know it took HOURS of discussion before we finally found one. Razael's suggestion for a name was Nephilim, based upon the ship name for Xenosaga (I believe) that he was playing. For some strange reason, though we had be almost arguing on it for hours, the moment Razael said Nephilim, everyone agreed. The color was decided that, based on the fact that the color of Celestial was light blue, and we wanted to represent the opposite of the ideals Xangel was beginning to exhibit, we chose Maroon. And so Nephilim was born.[/blue]

[purple]Nephilim: Founded November of 2003, and has come a long way since then. The original members came together after the disbanding of a previous linkshell, rising from it's ashes, as it were. At that time the new founding members came together to set a refined set of rules for a better linkshell.

After the shell had been created the very first person to ask what "Nephilim" meant was Asurra, one of the Celestials. "It's the name of a ship from another game, I don't know" answered Sari. But then Asurra said, "Doesn't Nephilim mean something else though, like fallen angels or something?" It took Asurra to make me actually look into it, but Asurra was right. Though we had landed on Nephilim as a name kind of by chance, no name could have been more perfect for our shell based on our heritage. We had wanted the opposite of Xangel's Celestial, and to translate, Nephilim were the children of Fallen Angels, Giants that walked the earth, sometimes as villians and sometimes as heroes. The name Nephilim definied us and what we had wanted to become when we left Celstial behind, Our name meant greatness, but not holiness, and more akin to the heroic and the fallic features of man than the "spirits of heaven" Xangel tried to create.

Nephilim grew quickly, as members joined on the vote system and everyone got their say, each and every member felt special, as they deserved. The members of Nephilim are chosen to be friends and comrades, not selected because they were more "special" than everyone else (like some other LS's, not to mention names), but selected because they were could players, and good people.

Xangel tried to have her vengence, and recruited Nephilim members away to a new, "loyal", linkshell. But in the end, she disbanded her second incarnation as well, alienating those that had been "loyal" to her. In the end, it is VERY important to me and Mel and many others that NO ILL WILL should ever be expressed to Xangel (Xangel now has created a new character to escape that history, but it goes to show you should be open minded and kind to everyone regardless) for her actions. Nephilim would not be here today if she hadn't first given birth and death to Celestial. To this day she still has some resentment towards the shell, and me especially, for taking this away from her, but I cry for her because the truth of the matter is she only made one mistake, and that was not trusting her friends for support.

So as the time has past, Nephilim has seen many members come and go. Those that are with us now recognize Vilebird, Bakslash, Kethry, Melmeow, and many others as the core of Nephilim. Now you know who they are.

There is, however, a second core of Nephilim which is equally as valuable. Shortly after forming into Nephilim, we all looked around and thought that of the 10 members, if we had to get a vote of 5 for every recruit, it was going to take forever to build beyond the core group. Enter Koda.

Two members in particular had been left out of the Nephilim recruitment for a pearl, mainly because I didn't know them that well. I will focus on Koda because Koda had a very special role. I had forgotten Koda for a pearl, and Koda hadn't persued a pearl, because Koda was a part of another linkshell. The linkshell that Koda was a part of, and that even Melmeow was a part of, was called DarkHour. DarkHour was formed by Shimmer and a few close friends, and was a linkshell that had grown very very fast. This was becasue DarkHour held the opposite idielology to Nephilim, which was that most every member was trusted enough that many members had a pearlsack.

If anyone can guess, one pearlsack in the hands of the wrong person equals too many members and no restriction on caliber. Shimmer truly loved DarkHour and all of its members, but recognized that there was no way to control it, or more specifically no way to organize it. Idea pops into Sari's head. Sari misses Koda-chan and wants Koda to join Nephilim. Koda won't join Nephilim because Koda won't abandon Shimmer in his time of need. Shimmer won't join Nephilim because...no, not because...unless...

Thus the idea to merge Nephilim and DarkHour emerged. I want to express that the merger was unaminous, but truthfully it wasn't. The idea was unaminous except for four members who's opinion Sari truly valued above all others, and those four's advice wasn't in favor of the merger, it was in favor of whatever Sari thought was best. I should have realized then the role I was beginning to fall into, but I didn't. I didn't want to make the decision alone, and looking back, those four, three that are with us and one that is gone, I want to thank you for your support of me.

Shimmer discussed the situation and got the merger support from DarkHour as well, an in Windhurst, in the Starfruit Gardens underneath the great tree, The whole of everyone selected by Shimmer was given a Nephilim pearl. Amoung these members made Nephilim then were Vanstrider, Shido, Sainochi, Zephiris, Shimmer, Valqroma and many others, and these members formed the second wave of Nephilim. While some may take this to mean that those members aren't really considered the core of Nephilim, all I will say that is in that one moment, the merger of Darkhour made Nephilim what it is today. Had it not been for the joining of these members, I believe Nephilim would still be a small and struggling linkshell, and no where near as much of a family as we are today.

Within a week of DarkHour's merge, Nephilim was the first full linkshell to organize Rank 4 and Rank 5 mission runs, and to this day, one of my primary concerns with new recruits is to ensure they have Rank 5, almost in testament of that success.

Time has past, and Nephilim almost lost its way looking after the best interests of the North Americans and those kind to us from Carbuncle. But I'm hoping our recent focus and steps towards advancement will put us back on top of what we were. Nephilim was once, I believe, the most formidable NA linkshell, and I think has only been replaced in those terms by "elitist" linkshells. (I don't know what else to call it when a linkshell has set standards to say someone isn't "good enough" to join their shell, and offensively recruits "elite" members from other shells).

I believe, if everyone knows what I have expressed here, all would agree to our standards and regulations, and as to why we have done what we have done. I believe if everyone knows our history, we would all feel a little more proud for helping others, even strangers, but at the same time have confidence that Nephilim has a solid future. We are argued by some to be nobodys, but by others to be the best LS on Carbuncle. We all had a hand in that, not just me, and I think we should all be proud of what Nephilim is. Hiopefully, knowing all of this, everyone can get a better idea of what makes Nephilim special, and what makes you special for being a part of it. We all have a history, and we are all making history. Welcome to Nephilim, Fallen Angels, Giants among men.

In March or 2004, Again Nephilim absorbed another linkshell. Linkshell Ashura requested mass recruitment, and Nephilim heard and accepted the call. The shell had suffered declines in membership, and Nephilim was more than proud to offer a new home to their experienced players. Notable members: Sarizaddi, Shido, Vade, Eadrick, Juell, Drashogar.[/purple]

=-=-=-=[red]Skillz[grey]^^[orange]Asgard[black]=-=-=-=

[red]Skillz: Formed in Spring 2005 primarily by members who left FoodMonsters. Led by Nightshade and Arowyn. Skillz grew insanely quick and was the center for drama and goodtimes during Summer 2005. The linkshell disbanded after several members left or were kicked due to new rules. In Fall 2005, a majority of the LS was kicked after being presented with a quiz. One of the main questions was said to be "Would you leave Carbuncle with Skillz during the next server migration?" Many members answer's led them to being kicked from the LS. Ironically, to this date, there since has been no server migration. Many members sticked together and formed Amnesia. Notable members: Nighteshade, Arowyn, Speerit, Vade, Duncan, Antonchumper, Ghanima, Hellhammer, Ziggrat, Pergo(shorttime).[/red]

[orange]Asgard: Formed in Fall 2005 after many upset members left/were kicked from Skillz and made an LS Amnesia. After converting many Skillz members, the LS teamed up with another LS to create Asgard. Led by Dagmar. The LS is still around today. Notable members: Dagmar, Duncan, Ghanima, Ziggrat, Enin[/orange]

=-=-=-=[pink]Assassinz[grey]^^[green]KnightsCrest[grey]^^[black]ZanarkandAbes[grey]^^[red]CrimsonCrusaders[black]=-=-=-=

[pink]Assassinz: [purple]Formed in 2004. Led by Twoface. Social shell. Eventually disbanded after Twoface stopped logging on. Notable members: Twoface, Lorac, Silmarwen, Shadowwind, Fargen, Ardanos, Kauutauu, Scorpius, Gonks.[/purple]

[green]KnightsCrest: A continuation of Assassinz. Led by Kauutauu. Notable members: Lorac, Silmarwen, Kauutauu, Shadowwind, Gonks, Fargen, Jenteal, Vamprilla.[/green]

[pink]AssassinzReborn: [/pink][purple]Twoface returned an created AssassinzReborn. Twoface stopped playing and left Gonks in charge. After awhile, Gonks created CrimsonCrusaders.[/purple]

[black]ZanarkandAbes: Led by Gabrail. Eventually merged into CrimsonCrusaders.[/black]

[red]CrimsonCrusaders: After being left in charge of Assassinz Reborn, Gonks decided to make his own linkshell which had members from Assassinz Reborn, KnightsCrest, and ZanarkandAbes. Mainly a social shell until the end when they camped a few Zilart NMs, Hakutaku, and Charybdis. Upon growing, CC attempted sky but due to experience, decided to merge into Manafont. Notable members: Gonks, Grayvus, Loogash, Talbak, Darkonix, Redraid, Humnoi.[/red]

[purple]Manafont: Sky linkshell led by Alexandriux and Faelyn. Founded in Summer 2005. Many of the members came from the social LS, CrimsonCrusaders. The linkshell was shortly lived as there were problems in leadership which led to the disbanding. Notable members: Alexandriux, Faelyn, Gonks, Grayvus, Pergo, Darkonix, Shonly.[/purple]

[black]=-=-=-=[blue]Legacy of Wolves[black]=-=-=-=

[blue]HowlingWolves: In early 2004, Pridewolf was convinced by Cynwulf and Blackwolf to create an all-wolf linkshell. Pridewolf created and led HowlingWolves. Only characters with "wolf" in their name could join. We actually had around 25-30 members, and helped each other on quests, missions, AF, etc. Surprisingly there are many people on Carbuncle with wolf in their name, so the shell went strong for a year and a half, and then as members got higher they wanted to join HNM shells or other miscellaneous endgame activity. Finalwolf joined the social shell Nephilim and the HNM shell Skillz, as well as the dynamis shell Conviction. Bladewolf was in a few sky linkshells, but now resides in Flipside iirc. The others have either quit or taken a long break, but I know many others definitely joined endgame shells. Notable members: Pridewolf, Thunderwolf, Blackwolf, Bladewolf, Darkwolf, Dieterwolfgang, Beowolfgang, Finalwolf, Kaoswolf, Cynwulf.[/blue]

=-=-=-=[orange]GlassEmpire[grey]^^[blue]Euphoria[black]=-=-=-=

[orange]GlassEmpire: Founded in 2003. Led by Upata. Was primarily a U.K. LS while housing some non-uk members. Notable members: Upata, Tarien.[/orange]

[blue]Euphoria: With GlassEmpire disbanding, Tarien created Euphoria, a social LS focused on endgame/sky. Notable members: Tarien, Delray, Nimakora, Warkvlt.[/blue]

=-=-=-=[sea]Frenzy[grey]^^[red]Frenzy[black]=-=-=-=

[blue]Frenzy: Frenzy was started by Paigne its members when it began were mostly from Euphoria and AngelicDarkness(ADLS): Original officers were Jafar, Zel, Neatoly, Namuri, Tayko, and Muadib. Frenzys first started off with a few of the lesser HNM Ash Dragon, Hakutaku, Bune, etc...Frenzys first king killed was Adamantoise. Frenzy grew quickly and wanted to move on to tougher HNM's at Frenzys first fafnir camp Noirt claimed darters before windowXD...next person in Frenzy to claim darters was Foland followed by Dirian thus starting the darter club. After killing only 2 Fafnir's Frenzy received it's first Ridill which went to then leader, Paigne. Paigne quit the game shortly after and Masenko reformed the LS. New officers include: Warkvlt, Sassafras, and Jafar. Frenzy rapidly grew in size and began to tackle wyrms, pushing down Jormungand on only their second attempt. Frenzy started to take on Dynamis and Limbus. After leadership issues, Masenko broke the pearl and Muadib remade Frenzy.[/blue]

[red]Frenzy: Recreated by Muadib. Frenzy continues to camp kings, do dynamis and limbus regularly. [/red]

=-=-=-=[orange]BadBoyz[grey]^^[green]Perfection[grey]^^[blue]VFSvII[black]=-=-=-=

[orange]BadBoyz: One of the first HNMLS on Carbuncle. Formed in Spring 2004? Led by Yuufuu, Corleone, and Bleed.[/orange]

[green]Perfection: Many of the members of BadBoyz merged into Perfection led by Fratley and Bleed. Founded in Summer 2004. In Fall 2004, Bleed left Carbuncle during server migration to goto Hades. Notable members: Fratley, Yuufuu, Bleed, Corleone, Reminum, Hobbes, Swindler, Kevmon, Governor, Chong, Xkid, Troisana, Domonick, Humnoi, Narim, Juliano, Zephyre, Laucian, Turtler.[/green]

[blue]VFSvII(VanaFellowship2): VFSvII was a linkshell created by Troisana. It was made from mostly old members of perfection who had left perfection for various reasons. For about 2-3 months, these old perfection members enjoyd the free time they were given but never got the taste of endgame out of their mouths. They came together and decided it was time to start another HNM shell. This time it would be run differently. They decided instead of the one ruling leader, which they had gone with for so long in perfection, a sort of government or CoO was created. These three people consisted of Troisana, Turtler, and Kenjii. On the next level of CoO were Zephyre, Domonick, and Darkwraith, if there was ever a decision that needed to be made and the main officers were not there. From here, the ls grew on people from all sorts of LS. VFSvII has grown to a point that perfection did not get a chance to reach. Notable Members: Domonick, Zephyre, Sefirot, Turtler, Nekukozner, and Fratley, Chibiwolf, Chuko.[/blue]

=-=-=-=LoreKeepers[grey]^^[/grey][orange]Jazz[grey]^^[red]Inferno[grey]^^[sea]Paragon[grey]^^[purple]Fabled[black]=-=-=-=

[black]LoreKeepers: Led by Eltola with the name coming from Raijn and Johansan. Conflict between members led to the creation of Jazz. Notable members: Malaga, Saqqara, Evecaura.[/black]

[orange]Jazz: Created and led by Malaga after a separation from LoreKeepers. Issues in leadership led to the creation of Inferno. Jazz was later transformed into the HNM shell Paragon. Notable members: Malaga, Evecaura[/orange]

[red]Inferno: Led by Fyrefly. Founding members were Saqqara, Hybrid in Spring 2004. A huge and a prominent social shell. Saqqara took a break in Fall 2004, passing leadership to Enjou. In early 2005, Enjou moved on to join Foodmonsters. Saqqara returned and led the LS was led by her and Silmarwen. Silmarwen also moved on to join Foodmonsters in May 2005. Inferno disbanded shortly after during the Summer of 2005. Notable members: Enjou, Silmarwen, Oracant, Domonick, Muadib, Novah, Ardivian, Feiblaze, Lorac, Messershmidt, Basillus, Evecaura, Raiu.[/red]

[sea]Paragon: Led by Malaga. HNM shell founded in Fall 2004. Early in it's time merged with a LS called Godshand. Some of the GH members broke off later and formed Madness, which became parts of Skillz and Asgard. Later became a harbor for players ditching their Divine pearls. A lot of those people left and went, ironically, to Asgard. Recently a new LS called Fabled has broken off of us and it is led by Soprano.Notable members: Malaga, Aquetas, Kras, Bearwolf.[/sea]

[purple]Fabled: Founded in Fall 2006 and led by Soprano.Notable members: Nynaeve, Cianti, Neoneva, Taathsa, Jossle.[/purple]

=-=-=-=[blue]Truefriendship[grey]^^[sea]NineInches[grey]^^[purple]SkyBreakers[black]=-=-=-=

[blue]Truefriendship: Small LS with real life friends. Truefriendship included Hung and Wathana. Once truefriendship began to shrink due to members being busy with real life, the two LS' merged to form SkyBreakers. Notable members: Hung, Wathana, Horang, Tamjin, Tieubao.

[purple]Behemoth: Early LS led by Snowleft. Was Taiwanese-based. Notable members: Sephirothx, Carbonblue, Yeret, Clpower, Tiduz.[/purple]

[sea]NineInches: Founded in 2004. Led by Snowleaf. Reformation of Behemoth. One of the first NA LS' to start killing Serket and other land nms as well as farming sky. Notable members: Kenshinx, Sephirothx, Snowseason, Rikard, Cronis.[/sea]

[purple]SkyBreakers: Led by Hung. At first SB was a social/friends ls that helped each other out. Then they started to pearl friends/recuit ppl. So the ls started to get kinda big, ppl wanted sky items so ls changed to a sky ls. About a year of doing sky ppl started to do PMs and get sea. SB then became sky/sea ls for many months. Things were going great, tons of ppl with sea access so they started to do jailers getting good drops and shit. The original Hung quit the game b/c of real life stuff. SB lasted a little bit longer with Tam, Tieubao and Yeret leading SB. But sadly SB started to die out. The new Hung joined Foodmonsters. Wathana join VFSvII. Recently, SB merged with another ls making Heros. Notable members: Hung, Wathana, Tamjin, Tieubao, Yeret.[/purple]

[black]=-=-=-=[red]KnightsSoul[grey]^^[green]SacredSoul[grey]^^[red]KnightsSoul[grey]^^[sea]SonicYouths[black]=-=-=-=

[red]KnightsSoul: Created and led by Linkhighlander in the Spring of 2004. Linkhighlander orginally established this LS with his girl friend Theanomoly and other friends. The LS was primarily social until it’s first lower HNM camps in November 2004 (Simurgh, Roc, Serket, Lumberjack and such passed as HNMs back then) Most of the members at this time were Lv55-65 with a few 75s, Link himself was only Lv69 at the time. Due to leadership issues, KS dragged on for a while half dead as an HNM but doing fairly as a social except for a few fights but eventually the LS became restless and Stonar took over for Link. Notable members: Theanomoly, Hwarang, Torzak, Sageofhalo, Shagwrath, Battosaii, Dajodayoda, Seankp, Kitfox, Minna, Annariel, Skulls. Tetsuma, Humnoi.[/red]

[green]SacredSoul: Fusion of KnightsSoul and ChaosBlades. HITS (HighInTheSky), was an LS formed to do sky between SS & JL since neither LS had the knowledge on what to do. More details please![/green]

[red]KnightsSoul: Second version of the LS created and led by Stonar in Fall 2005. With Stonar now leading the LS we went from barley killing Suzaku in sky to killing Kirins within a month and the LS enjoyed renewed energy. However since we had almost no screening process for our LS we let in a lot of douche bags that would explode if they were told to attend an LS event or if they didn’t get a Raise 3. This eventually led to Stonar disbanding the LS because he was sick of peoples crap only to come back a few weeks later and recreate the LS under the name SonicYouths which really didn’t do anything. Finally disbanded in June 2006. Notable members: Torzak, Bladewolf, Lefian, Yugigal, Yunah, Tetsuma[/red]

[sea]SonicYouths: Led by Elilus. Sonic Youths was made by elilus under pretty much my pressure and supervision about 1 month after Knights Soul disbanded. It was a reincarnation of pretty much people in KS who had Sea and were pretty well geared / active. We recruited a few smn and acquired about 6 YY robes and it was not unheard of to see our ls / members at shikagami weapon for a week straight. We also took a liking to ks 99 for our members. As a LS we went 5/6 on Horns of War.

During the LSes short incarnation we killed all the sky gods minus byakko / kirin (could never get us an autemstone) , and several COP pop NMs... we were never big enough to try anything else and did most of our sky runs with 4-9 people.Didn't last long. Notable members: Tatto, Aristotali, Sevenflow, Lefian, Elilus, Betadur, Banshee, Galkaben, Shugo, Losthopes, Drache[/sea]

[black]=-=-=-=[green]Junglist[grey]^^[red]Tainted[grey]^^[green]Flipside[black]=-=-=-=

[green]Junglist: JL was founded by Topcat around early~mid 2004 as a social shell for the London Crew; a group of FFXI players who lived in London, ONT. This included Rebelmc, Aydaen, Topcat, Jeth, Valcon, Psithe, Sizzla and a few others that their names have escaped me. They started taking on a few friends they met ingame, the shell go a bit bigger, but it remained Social Status. Topcat had met Narel (Dagmar) ingame, and Narel got pearled to JL.

Narel was the one to orginally introduce JL to the (H)NM scene. The first HNM that JL had tried, and taken down was Simurgh, and that's where it got it's insatiable appetite for Simurgh and Strider Boots. The JL crew continued to camp Simurgh, back when it's boots were only worth 2M-4M.

Later that year, closer near the end, Narel and Topcat got in a fight, which resulted in Narel leaving to make the linkshell, Madness. They proceeded to leech and camp the NMs that the old-school JL crew had been camping for the last half a year. Before Narel had left, JL had taken on most of it's crew you recognize today; Billybob, Reaver, Stamcof, and some people that were no longer with it; Kaminiari, Gurdijef, Weaponomega & Kary, Destruct, Nobusagi, ect.

The year of '05 was a busy one for JL. It was full of everything you could imagine. JL continued to dominate the smaller HNM scene, taking on Simurgh, Serket, Roc, Bune, Adamantking and other little HNMs on a daily, DAILY basis. The thing that attracted most people to JL was the way loot was distributed. You showed up, you helped claim and kill, you get a split. That was an attractive way to make money. Nobody could really deny that if you joined JL, you made it rich. In 1 week runnin near the end of '05, JL scored 2 pairs of Striders, 2 Enhancing Swords, a Vclaw and a Healing Staff. At the time, that together was worth around 120M gil.

Unfortunently, this also led to a lot of disrest in the LS, as 2005 was also the year that the infamous "Topcat steals from the LS Bank" rumor came up. JL seemed to look up a bit with the fresh new people getting recuited, and the current "Leaders/Sacks" getting along. But that rumor still floated, and it still seemed to happen. TC was a procrastinator. If you didn't go THAT VERY DAY to get your money, you might have well kissed it goodbye. He couldn't hold on to money, so he wasn't "technically" stealing, just spending money that wasn't his. Then, asking him on a later date for it was mad, since he didn't really farm unless it involved feathers and it's name started with "Sim".

Most of the JL crew had done Dynamis with whoever, but the main Dynamis Shell JL had called home was DynamisSyndicate. Even though in the past, JL had tried to start up it's own Dyna-Runs, it couldn't muster the inner strength of the LS to leave their other dynamis shells and join one that had no clue what they were doing.

During the run with DS, this was where JL met most of the rest of it's crew; Cnile, Bombard, Tealeaf and others. JL was finally filling out with a decent group of dedicated friends.

2005 ended for JL, and would be remember as one of the better years, as 2006 spelled the end for the JL that most people knew.

In '06, the start of the year went off fine. There was talk of a JL Dynamis, and we started to try and push ourselves out in the main HNM Scene. In March, I'll note, though hate it, was the time when the other major rumor that JL had broke the surface. TC & Terr, the notorious leadership duo, split, as TC had been untrue for 8months. To be honest, people will give you different answers, but this is where Junglist started to fade. With it's leaders in heated battles anytime they were on the LS, most people opt'd to take the shell off. It wasn't a pretty sight watching 2 best friends going at eachother everyday.

After March, TC's attitude started to change, being a lot grumpier, refusing to do anything, getting pissed when asked to do things. I tried to take over as best as I could with everyones help, and JL continued to float with it's duct-tape patches on. To re-assure JL's life, DynamisSyndicate was put to rest, and JL started to do it's own Dynamis, extending invites to previous DS members to come if they wanted.[/green]

[red]Tainted: With the downfall of Junglist, several pearlsacks created Tainted to try and force Topcat into passing Junglist' leader onto someone else. Unfortunently, this was when rifts started forming between friends. Those loyal to Topcat refused to take a pearl, or took one in disgust, and while being nice on the Tainted shell, would shit-talk said friends on the JL Shell. Many people at this time left to join other linkshell. Tainted, regardless, proceeded to camp the same things JL did, and do it's own dynamis. But, Billybob had a falling out, and shortly after it being made, proceeded to take a break from the game.

Having no lead sack again, Tainted disbaned, and everyone went to Cnile's PM Static linkshell, Flipside.[/red]

[green]Flipside: Led by Cnile. Details later.[/green]

[sea]CoeurDeLaMer: Led by Ambixes. Founded in Spring 2004. Was a strong LS and the home to many of the famous veterans of Carbuncle. Eventually Ambixes wasn't on much and his RL brother, Ajun reformed into Dynasty. Notable members: Aerin, Lindz, Ajun, Booki, Cubby, Lordender, Lok, Bick, Remii, Valkry, Angeliene, Areen.[/sea]

Dynasty: Led by Ajun. Most of the CDLM veterans made the switch. Ajun eventually quit, giving leadership to Booki. Ajun returned a few months later and created NextStop.

[sea]NextStop: Led by the returned Ajun. Being a social shell, most of the members of Dynasty moved into NextStop. NextStop teamed up with LeeT for events using a shell called PinkNarbies. Eventually the two LS teamed up permanently to make PinkNarbies a permanent LS.[/sea]

[pink]TRUST: [/pink][purple]Led by Cryptik. Eventually reformed into LeeT. Notable members: Kyubi, Riichi, Rickaru, Jibs, Yujinee, Smear, Aegix, Kenshinx, Darkranger.[/purple]

[pink]LeeT: [/pink][purple]Led by Riichi. The reformation of TRUST. Teamed up with NextStop using the LS PinkNarbies to hold joint-events. Eventually the two LS teamed up permanently to make PinkNarbies a permanent LS.[/purple]

[pink]PinkNarbies: [/pink][purple]Owned by Cryptik. Mostly led by Riichi and Booki. Was a mix of English and Japanese players. Notable members: Soulessknight, Recuperi, Lyramion, Cubby, Aerin.[/purple]

[pink]PinkPinkNarbies: [/pink][purple]Essentially the same LS, remade to give Riichi leader. Notable members: Riichi, Soulessknight, Recuperi, Lyramion, Cubby, Aerin.[/purple]

[pink]PinkTanaka: [/pink][purple]Once again pretty much the same LS. With quite a few members quitting overing the years, Riichi quitting due to a new job/promotion irl, Lyramion joining FM... the LS was remade with Recuperi and Cubby leading. Riichi eventually returned and the LS is still going strong today.Notable members: Recuperi, Cubby, Aerin.[/purple]

[black]=-=-=-=[orange]DuckHunt[grey]^^[sea]TerraFirma[grey]^^[sea]MortemInvitavis[black]=-=-=-=

[orange]Duckhunt: Founded in Spring 2006. Led by Palidor. DuckHunt was made because several members of the LS RpgDreamers were not satisfied with the current conditions. A few members left and created DuckHunt. DuckHunt slowly recruited and quickly found a steady member-base and became successful in sky. After a few months, drama had gotten out of control between members and the LS became a stressful environment for everyone. In a high hopes attempt to take the linkshell to the next level, Palidor planned a Jormungand event. After a failed attempt, Palidor decided it was best to break the linkshell due to unrest between members.Notable members: Palidor, Damo, Akirra, Grayvus, Amethysta, Pergo, Darkonix, Ravenal, Altair, Faiz[/orange]

[sea]TerraFirma: Founded in Summer 2006. Led by Damo and Palidor. After the collapse of DuckHunt, Damo created Transference with a few refugees from DuckHunt. After a short while Damo and Palidor came together to create TerraFirma. Eventually drama led to Damo's exit and the disbanding of the LS. Akirra stepped forth and created MortemInvitavis sheltering some of the TerraFirma refugees.[/sea]

[sea]MortemInvitavis: Founded in late Summer 2006. Led by Akirra. Was created after the fall of DuckHunt and TerraFirma. The shell had a point system based on attendance/kills, and after a time you could exchange the points for a desired item if the said item dropped. However, many people in the shell began to take advantage of this system, and would just rack up attendance/kill points (we called it dkp) and when their desired item dropped and they got it, they'd just leave the shell without saying a word. As you can imagine, this became a major issue, but more and more people were doing it, so by late October Akirra had had enough and the shell broke. Notable members: Akirra, Hobbes, Palidor, Panthro, Thesaintlucifer, Rufio, Darkdeath, Agiant, Darktaru, Legloas, Medina, Tinman, Pecado, Gasher, Mushmushak, Chibiwolf, Snarf, Altair, Faiz.[/sea]

Dynamis Linkshell History:

[black]=-=-=-=[grey]Conviction[/grey][black]^^[purple]MegaBoss[black]=-=-=-=

[grey]Conviction: [/grey][green]Founded on March 27, 2005. Led by Masenko. Members of Nephilim and Perfection teamed up to tackle Dynamis. First run was Dynamis-Bastok. Around the beginning of July, Masenko quit Conviction and broke the pearl. On July 5th, 2005, Shido stepped up and created MegaBoss.[/green]

[purple]MegaBoss: Founded on July 5, 2005. Created by Shido after Masenko broke Conviction. Now Shido has been gone for a while, new leaders were appointed, Sarizaddi: leader of pullers (and queen of mpking in dynamis), Finalwolf: leader of healers and refreshers (and #1 dealer of ls bullshit), Ghaleon (left, then came back) passed leadership of tanks to Zoey, Sumin (left) passed leadership of blms to Aihree, Seankp: leader of melees.
Mega Boss went through a few mergers, but always had 1 ls that never left, nephilim.
at time, MegaBoss was a dynamis shell for Nephilim + FM, Nephilim + some frenzy, Nephilim + Bebe. each ls that left had their own reason for leaving, some people from the the linkshells are still here. First Dynamis Lord kill took place on August 5th, 2006.[/purple]

DRAMA:

[purple]Nidhogg MPK-Fest - As told by Shokox:This was quite possibly the best three-way drama of all time. Period. I've lost all of my pics due to the computer crash a bit after I left Perf, but my memories is sharp as fuck. I think I've told this story to like 15+ people, they all loved this one best.

Well, what had happened was, Perfection (us), Foodmonsters (those noobs), and HellFamily (lolJP), and some scattered noobs from JL and other LSes to check ToD were there (they caught a glimpse of epic drama on epic proportions.) They were all in DA, waiting for this NQ to pop (hella people in Perf swore to sun and moon that it was NQ, and Kenjii wanted to test this new JP-bot that he bought and tricked out on his comp). Anyways, they are all waiting in DA for this shit to pop; I'm in LS doing something else, but Fratley's fat ass yells at me to drop whatever I was doing and bring my RNG/WAR to this camp, for extra dmg if and when we got claim. So I hussle down there like 20mins early-- ya'll know shit don't pop for NA til the last few pop cycles, so I'ma make it on time.

I get there, and Frat, Yuufuu, Turt, and some others start having foulplay in mind, and they spit the deed-in-planning on the LS. You have to keep in mind, this wasn't about anyother LS outside of Perf vs. FM, fuck everyone else, they just in the way of our Gang Warin'. And the shit was real. I've never seen so much hate between two LSes until I got caught up in this shit. And by this time, Frat, Grifter, and Juliano made some kind of Perf/FM truce or w/e, that we wouldn't MPK each other if one of us got claim. Well, to hell with that, Frat is on this dealy like: "Man fuck FM, you remember when Luke MPK'd us that last time? Well lets MPK these bitches if they get claim."

Everyone is agreeing to this, or not saying shit in oppsition, or afk jacking it like Kenjii, lmao. Then Chronce says some shit like: "Fuck Morracoo ;; he has E-Body." Hella bitching, so you know Chronce wanted to be the hit-man for MPK work. I then run up in there, and speak on the LS. "Man, fuck that shit dude, don't MPK them if they get claim." Frat responds to me with a "FUCK YOU SHO, BRING YO BLACK ASS TO DA AND LETS DO THIS SHIT." After some "lols", "lmaos", and "wwwws", I run it back with, "Man, alright, but this shit only brings bad stuff." They invite me to alliance so I could try and claim with Loxley Bow (fast as shit bow if you don't know, won some claims with this).

After a few mins, the shit goes down. The first problem occurs-- earlier I said they coulda swore to sun and moon it was NQ? Well, they were, and everyone... EVERYONE set thier bots for NQ pop. Not one person set it up for HQ Niddy, and that screwed us out of a pop-claim, lmao. So it's Plan #B now, MPK THE FUCK OUT OF WHAT EVER LS HAS CLAIM. (HF got claim). So Chronce and another person, I forgot who-- get ready to MPK some JP-bitches. Then the shit popped off. I see Matt's silly ass running up to HF with hella Spiders to MPK HF-- success! We (well them mostly, I saw the shit go down as plain as day, lol) in Perf were confused as shit-- FM MPKing.... HF!? someone on LS said "I thought they were cool wtf lol" And then buy luck of Kenjii's tricked out new bot, we get claim as soon as HF goes down. I pussied out at this point-- it was past my limit. I was already pissed about the MPKing going on... and I was like "fuck it" on the LS chat, and I disbanded from the alliance. Laucian actually backed me on this, and spoke for me on LS as well (but he didn't disband), stating how fucked up the drama with FM will be at this point, since FM MPK'd and we took claim.

Frat tells me this: "Fuck you honestly Sho, just sit out, ya pussy"-- Frat's fat ass begins to tank it, and they take Niddy down to 90%, with me watching in the background. Then even MORE shit pops off at this point... amazing shit, really. My boy Chemistry (he's in HF) comes out of fucking nowhere with a damn Malboro from hell, and sits the shit right on our tanks to MPK. XD The shit being said in LS was even more fucking funny-- because Fratley and others thought it was FM that MPK'd us even though we were in a loltruce. "WHAT THE FUCK MAN, FM MPK'd US, WTF" "OMG, FUCK THOSE BITCHES" "orz". I come up with a bigass "LMAO" on LS chat, that shit was so funny, I'll never forget that moment. Then some people in HF started curing Fratley from Niddy's tail while the Malboro was raping him at the same time, and Perf DD are pumping out dmg (and giving Niddy TP). Well we all know what happens then; Niddy Spike Flailed EVERY-FUCKING-BODY in DA. Perf. HF. FM. The random on-lookers. Everyone got pwned hardcore. Funniest shit ever. I then say on the LS-- "Fucking karma, you bitches " No one says anything in reply. They were probably bitching hardcore in PT chat tho, lmao. And after that-- most of FM HP'd almost instantly to run back for claim. And Nidhogg... mighty Nidhogg, sits unclaimed around dead bodies for 35+ mins.

Afterwards, blah blah, FM gets claim and kill, LE gets E-Body, blah blah, Chronce cries in his sleep, lolz.[/purple]

[sea]Palidor's infamous Skillz Tiamat MPK - As told by Finalwolf: I know before that event, hatred will building up between Palidor and Vade + Bane, mostly Palidor vs Bane.
what set the wheels into motion was one night, the enm static consisting of Vade, Bane, Asamibabe, Drashogar, Deadlier and Finalwolf were doing their rounds, had to farm sylvan stones in Newton. They went to the usual spot to farm, but Palidor was there killing mobs. So the static party pushed him aside and killed all the mobs.
Palidor got upset, asked us to move, Bane provoked Palidor with taunts. a small Vade vs Palidor fued happened.
so, Palidor disappeared for a while into the depths of Newton. about 10 minutes later Palidor comes running toward the static party with a huge train of moblins and bugbears, but his mpk attempt was thwarted.

ok, so later that week, Tiamat was up, as it was hardly camped at the time. Skillz assembled to kill, with 30+ members. Palidor comes to piss off and distract Bane, but being Bane, he was good at pissing off Palidor instead. Nightfall comes to Attowa, Palidor disappears. When Tiamat reached 8% hp, Palidor comes running back to the fight, with an army of scorpions, arch corses, cave antions + the trackers that link and died @ the feet of Tiamat. Hilarious and Chaos ensues, Skillz struggled to save alive, eventually wiped, ended with "Stun and CFH" by Lukeroybaljr to prevent Perfection from taking an easy kill.[/sea]

[purple]Operation Solidarity - As told by Lokim: Operation Solidarity started as a bitchfest thread on KI after a group of the most notorious RMT (at the time) killed both Jormungand and Tiamat in the same evening despite repeated MPK attempts from half the server. After a few legitimate players were jailed and/or banned for these actions, tensions boiled over and talks of a action began. The concept of an in-game protest was originally proposed by myself but it was Vygun and Terria who really took charge and made it happen. Aladwar and I worked on the web presence for the protest and created some forum signatures for people to use, and numerous other LS leaders and officers worked hard to convince their membership to attend the rally.

Eventually it was decided that the protest would take place in Bastok Metalworks in front of the president's offices. The location was chosen both for its symbolism and because it was something all players could have access to regardless of mission progression or level. The time was very early in the morning so as to be accessible to Japanese players as well, but unfortunately almost none showed up. This is also believed to have cut into the NA presence.

In the end a bit over 100 people attended the protest. It came to the attention of the GMs and, in fact, GMs were present (though invisible) during the course of the event, making themselves known at one point via an emote. Although further protests never took place, I like to think our actions played a small role in the changes SE has been pursuing lately.[/purple]

[sea]Pergo's Dynamis Affair - As told by Pergo: ok... here's my dynamis story... i'm sorta pissed because i typed it all out a few hours ago... and forgot to copy it, so when i clicked post, i was idle for too long and it logged me out and i lost it... so here i go again:

was early fall 2004 when astral flow(might've been a different name back then, maybe not) was recruiting for their dynamis-windurst run. several shouts were taking place in jeuno... and i received a few tells from some people, but i declined. at the time i didn't really like many highlevel na, and vice-versa. this was before i've ever really done anything notorious or evil or w/e... i didn't get along with most of the highlevel na because i was outspoken and immature. back then... and while the first of us leveled to 75... once you hit a certain point, there were certain people that you HAD to party with if you wanted a party... since there wasn't many people. everything was all sorta close-knit back then. linkshells such as fm weren't as oranized as they are today... and most of their events i dont think were planned. there were several several occasions in which i'd make a party, we'd get full, goto boyahda tree... and then before we even started killing 3/6 of the party (fm) would be like "ooh ls event... gotta go". i guess its sorta like that today with kings and stuff but it was frustrating and i was immature, so i grew to hate fm. i was really outspoken about it too... going around telling people "if you party with fm, you're not my friend" crazy shit like that lol. other times people would leave parties to go party with their friends... i guess i got pissed off and frustrated easily so that created some tension between myself and others.

anyways back to the story...i was also already in an exp party when people invited me to dynamis, so i continued to decline. after awhile, midnightnova sends me a tell practically begging me... "man we need more mages... please", so i checked with him to make sure that i was even allowed to go. "yeah, i asked, everyones cool with it... come come". so i finally caved in, left my pt and headed to windurst. when i got there, i stood around waiting to be pearled when jehryn(fm) shows up. he and someone else start complaining about me and then i get told that i can't join. i was pretty pissed... asked and begged by several people, only to show up and get sent away. so anyways i was about to warp when midnightnova sends me a tell "wait... stay and i'll give you an extra hourglass". the plan wasn't to steal af or mpk or anything... it was to goto dynamis, chill for the duration, then at the end be like "see guys, i didn't cause any trouble... you should've let me in".

so anyways i agree and i sit at the entrance for about an hour waiting, watching several strange things. i recall a bunch of people doing /shocked motion to each other over and over and over again lol. anyways, they broke the glass... went in... midnightnova stalled and stayed out to hand me a glass. when i received it, he told me to stay outside for about 20min so that when i enter people won't see me. so i did just that, about 20min later, nova sends me a tell "ok we're at the bridge... you can come in". so i enter and just chill at the front raising my enhancing magic(i think i got about 10 levels).

honestly i wasn't out to steal anything... at the time i thought mjollnir(relic club) was like the greatest thing ever and that was my main priority. imo whm af2 feet weren't much different from errant feet, so i really wasn't interested. so anyways, time flew by, i passed on all the currency (so that none would fall to me and i'd be discovered), and like 3-4 relic clubs. eventually Cleric's Duckbills drop and thats when i'm discovered... i think it was jilten who first said something. /sh PERGOS HERE. after that it was complete chaos... i couldn't even see the people or the linkshell chat, but the /sh logs and tells were going crazy... they must've thought i was there to mpk because i got several tells from some friends "please dont mpk us" i assured them that i wasn't there to cause any harm. people were still going off, i was getting profanities and insults sent to me in tells... it kinda bothered me but i guess i wasn't welcome. anyways, a few min go by with much panic going on... when i receive a tell from snarf saying that i remind him of his children or something like that. then he says "dont you dare lot that AF or im gonna hunt you down and slit your throat"... idk why, this to me is really funny now but at the time it kinda pissed me off... so i went to lot just to be like "HA! lotted, come find me"... i wasn't serious... but the moment i lotted, the AF disappeared from the treasure box and went to me.

i was shocked, everyone was shocked, everyone was angry... i think i was sorta shaking irl... i couldn't think so i warped to ru'lude garden and logged off. a few hours later i logged back on and headed to kazham (idk why)... i remember seeing kenshinx on the airship, he wasn't involved, idk why im putting this in but ok cool. i start receiving angry tells from several people saying how af2 is so rare(funny looking back now), mostly friends of emama who were pissed. Emama was the one who was supposed to receive the AF2. I felt really bad because I realized that I hurt someone that I didn't even know, someone who has never done anything to me. after some time, emama and i came to an understanding, and i'm still really sorry for hurting her.

my rep suffered, but to me it wasn't a big deal... i had some great friends and some great jp parties, both of which stuck by me and i'm still here today so yeah...

Hmmm this is a good idea for a thread, I was wondering how some linkshells got started myself.

Ummm... back when I was an Elvaan, I joined VanadielHeroes when the shell was still running strong, about June/July 2004. The ls had many great members, some of which today are well-known, infamous, etc. The leader, Ailleen, was loved throughout the linkshell and known for being kind, courteous, and helpful. The ls mainly did small events to help out their members, such as advanced job quests, artifact armor, genkai, and national missions. I remember the high levels of the shell attending dynamis for the first time, and I believe it was Batang who posted his pics in the VH forums.
Later, I recall there being drama with Swindler and Midnightnova, but never really knew what it was that caused them to be kicked from the ls. After a time of struggling with school irl I was forced to take a small break from the linkshell, and two months when I returned I learned the linkshell had broken, some members having went off to Nephilim and other social shells, with the high-level characters moving on to Foodmonsters, Junglist, etc, if I'm recalling these events correctly.

To be continued.

First LS - DropItLikeItsHot, got invited to the LS for playing a nice game of DuckDuckGoose with 3 of their members in the Dunes while looking for a WHM. Leader Niehaus, ended up forming into Naughtylus Led by Silverhawke

First Dynamis LS, Coleaders me and Ragdar -- Teamramrod, merged with Cnile's DynamisSyndicate

DynamisSyndicate dissolved into Junglist (Topcat led) Dynamis, one LS for all being the current trend

Junglist into Flipside(which was a PM static Shell Cnile used to help get alot of people sea)

(we'll forget about 1week Tainted lol)

Midnightnova was kicked from VH because of his role in the Pergo Dynamis affair.

VFS the original housed alot of upcomin NAs and i think should be mentioned. Laufade led it (i know JP) but that LS is older then most.

VFSvII is HNM shell

And Tiamats been killed by paragon and Frenzy

Jormy- Paragon Frenzy VFSvII

Ouryu- Frenzy VFSVII

Cerberus- Frenzy Flipside Paragon VFSvII

DL-Frenzy BlackMateria(VFSvII) Astral Flow Mega Boss and more (i dont know)

Though it never got past social status, Shojuken should be mentioned among lses. I think its one of the oldest NA lses still around. Was started at PC release by Sylis and a bunch of people who participated in the beta. By PS2 release it became a very large social shell. Though almost all of the original members are gone, alot of prominent carby players got their start or got kicked from Shojuken biggrin.gif
