YRPaine :
In your dynamis section for /thf, I would add a reminder that it's possible to steal currency.
My normal macro for assisting is (whenever I go as Main thf or /thf):
/as "MainAssistName"
/wait 2 (cuz of lag)
/attack
/wait 3
/ja "Steal"

*I have thf knife so I usually go thf or mage, but I'm lvl'n sam now (and was reading up on stuff) and thought I'd give my Input. You can usually steal 4+ currency per run, depending on server economy that can help pay for reraise items and meds. I run my own dynamis shell, and I usually encourage melee DD to go /nin or /thf. There's usually more than enough melee to kill whatever mob independant of what everyone sub's, and reducing downtime as far as mages not having to cure usually saves more time than the added DoT of /war IMO, and it might allow for such a reduction in dmg that mages start having enough mp to haste melee DD. Though if you're planning on doing DL I would suggest /war, but that isn't every week.

the odds of successfully stealing a coin as /thf are significantly lower than as thf main, so that should not be a factor in deciding what sub to use.

my personal preference has been to sub either thf or rng in cities/glacier and in xarca i go /mnk for spirits within... which is only an option because i can do 1k+

Like Bane said, as /thf your odd of stealing a mob are signifanctly reduced so I still think you are better off with going /war or /rng and kill mob and boss asap then farm after for currency/af.

What I find bad with /mnk for Spirit Within is that you can only do 1k+ once then after that, the sub loses all it's effectivness. I'd rather go /war with berserk and da, meat food and do ~800 ws a lot more than you doing SW then switching then Meikyio then restarting to ws.

Also The /rng section could use a bit of work.

I'd add Myochin Kote+1 to hand selection and Hollow earring to ear.
And I think the Kote+1 deserve some mentioning in the af+1 section.

They are great for ws's as they have no negatives. Yea you lose +4str from alks.,
but your almost gaining +7acc, which is nice on war.
As well as for /rng, they dont have -agi on them and are good for ws when eating sushi.

Soboro is a perfectly good weapon to use when /WAR, as well, along with +Haste setups.

Also, could you explain some of your abbreviations? I don't have sky, but I still don't know what "SB it" means.

Your Store TP calculation says that with 46 Store TP, you'll get 16.79 TP/hit. It's truncated after the first digit, so it's really 16.7 TP/hit. 16.7 *6 = 100.2 If this weren't the case, you would only need +45.

Woodsman rings are viable alternatives to Snipers; and sure, HQ items are always nicer, but are also pricier. Coral earrings are good earrings. I'm sure a bonecrafter out there would like you to buy those as well. Don't forget the poor folks!

I'm finding it hard to be more encouraging (my apologies), since we already have a good equipment sticky. Nonetheless, I hope that you get sound feedback and enjoy putting this together, and that it benefits a lot of people.

SB would refer the rng JA Shadow Bind so the mob cant attack any1.

In the equipment section for 50 and 60, I think you mean Jaguar Mantle, not Jaeger Mantle.

Nice work man, only thing is in the 6 hit no haste build, shouldn't you use a swordbelt+1 instead of a speed/swift belt? since those are..ya know...haste =P, Also you can add in Fowling earring to the acc build? It does give +3 acc

Oh and with Heavensword, A poor mans guide for sam gear would be good, but if I know ppl they'll think the poor mans gear will surfice them and think nothing of getting better gear. I like the idea but I'd rather not be encouraging ppl to suck =/

my gig is ill do SW, whm starts cure bombing (i get my own whm regardless of run, something about "you die too much" idfk), i pop 2hr, drop another one, i pop iwing (assuming i have one) and drop another one, i hit meditate and drop another one, then just start dropping them at random %s till i die and/or run out of TP.

up until DL though i use normal gear, and actually put out decent numbers. certainly not on-par with /war or /thf but not especially bad.

That can works since you do it but that's not really a standard way really :x Your probably the only one that I know that does this.

Please add:

Soboro to /WAR options...(if you have enough attack, doing several 3-400+ WS during a fight adds up fast)

Barbarossa's Moufles to /RNG while shooting & Sidewinder

Jaeger Mantle (if you have nothing better to spend your Ancient Beastcoins on) for shooting/sidewinder

seiryu kote better than Barbarossa's Moufles and easier to get for most part.

Hey good job on the guide, really like it biggrin.gif so I thought I would help

I noticed you have a "coming soon" section for Cerberus, and although I'm no expert on him, I think it would be great to add a section for Khimaira (hydra is so unloved :/):

What to bring:
-Reraise item (More than likely your going to die getting there, and hard to get a raise during the fight)
-Food (I prefer either Sis Kebabi's or Sole Sushi)

The Fight:
For Khimaira, you always want to go SAM/THF so you can TA+WS the tanks for hate control. To be honest, SAM/THF, THF/SAM and RNG are the best DD jobs for this fight, mainly because it is best not to melee Khimaira in order to prevent TP regen. It is generally advised not to directly melee Khimaira because of his nasty AoE moves, so there are three ways in which you can obtain TP:
1) Sit there and meditate (if you have Shikikoyo meritied you could help the other DD out tongue.gif).
2) If you have archery capped + racc gear, you can range attack him out of AoE range during Meditate down time (although you'll miss...alot).
3) Have a DD party + 1 healer venture out and TP on Imps (POSSIBLY Soulflayers...but they suck hardcore). This is advised for non-Samurai DD.

After you have your TP, you can TA+WS the tanks (my LS generally had two PLD/NIN tanking him at one time alternating hate). I usually WS onto the PLD that doesn't have hate. Two things you must remember though, one being that the DD don't all want to bum rush him in order to WS, take turns so that incase he uses one of his many deadly abilities, you don't all wipe. If you have a SC set up, go in two at a time, but no more. Secondly, know what Khimaira abilities to avoid. It's best to TA+WS and get the hell out of there, I usually Flee right before going in for a hastey get away. Watch out for AoE DMG moves such as Plage Swipe, Tourbillion, Dreadstorm, Thunderstrike and Fulmination (his "Gate's of Hades" move, shouldn't be a problem if your stunners are doing their jobs, plus he doesn't spam it like Cerberus). Each of these could potentially 1 shot you (particularly Plague Swipe, Tourbillion and Fulmination). Plague Swipe only happens either if your fighting/pull hate from behind or you manage to position your tanks so they tank from behind. This is a double-edged sword, being that you can now SATA+WS, but also can be hit by this 1000+ damage ability and be stuck with a 40dmg/tic Bio, which will usually result in your death if your healers don't work fast (absorbs 3 shadows usually). So really to sum this all up just know what your up against and WS as quickly as possible and then get away.

Thats it in a nutshell, I've had pretty good success with this strat. If anyone has one that involves DD meleeing it please feel free to post it, would be interesting and Darkwill feel free to edit this to make more sence or just ignore it all together tongue.gif just thought i would try helping.

For now I'll just add this, I'll edit it a little.Seems good in overall, 1 thing I would change though would be the way you do ws. Keep hate on Khaimira is not really hard at all if you have good tanks. Just TA+WS then next 100% TP, SA+WS. He goes down faster that way and hate shouldn't shift back to you.

I've added your strat. Tweaked it a little. I think it's perfect that way. Let me know if something is wrong in it though.
