I remember there used to be an old thread a while ago about breathtaking views in FFXI, however it was around CoP time and the majority of pics were of CoP zones. I didn't feel like necrobumping, so I'm starting a new thread.

I'm at a friend's house currently, and I'm trying to convince him to return to FFXI.. since I recently have. I'm looking for any photos that you may have that are of "post-card" quality. Pics from any zone would be cool, but hopefully some people have some really cool ToAU pics. Possibly from salvage, undersea ruins, the volcano.. etc. Even some really cool Sea pics would rock.

I don't have any to offer at the moment, because as I said I'm at my friend's.

All though those "rendered" photos that people are creating are really cool.. unless they include a rendered background of current zones and not RL areas, please exclude them.

Yeah I set my drawdistance to 5. Also have my bump mapping (or whatever it is) set at 3 with regedit. As well, 2080x2080 on distant textures and 1280x1024. It makes everything look INSANE.

The only thing I notice with drawdistance, is that sometimes, in zones such as Konschtat or Valkurm, if I stand in a certain area, the terrain cuts back to what it would be before DrawDistance. When I move to another location, the terrain reappears. Anyone know why?

One big problem with it i've noticed is large bodies of water get graphical errors, and the shading on long distance objects gets ruined. I don't like using it much :con

Ghen ... do you mind sharing your comp spec? And what is this regedit I'm hearing of? I'm sorry if I sound like a bought character, but I have played semi-seriously for years. I know... I know that I should pay more attention etc. But meh ... It's a game^^

Reason for asking is: I just got a New Tower Mac, and I am about to get XP SP2 (Got Vista .. What a Fucking Nightmare) and hope to be able to push out some serious graphics while playing after it is all set up. Hope ...
