I tried forcing Anisotropic x16, and FSAA x4 from the nVidia control panel, but i don't see a difference... I'll go check out KI underground see if I can find some stuff.

I've got a very good machine, and I am almost certain that the actual game only uses 1 CPU core which is disappointing... I scored an unreal 9173 on Hi-Res on the FFXI Benchmark, which makes me wonder if the benchmark uses both CPUs and not just 1? My 3DMark06 Score is in the 10,000 range, which is close to the FFXI Bench score... Anyways, I hope I can take some more awesome screenshots later tonight.

Just a few I took today on my new monitor. 1680:1050 res.

I was surprised at the detail in the Marboro in this shot. Amazing what a difference resolution makes.

The top pic looks kinda distorted to me. I wonder if thats from the JPEG format, or my limited file size on shitty Photobucket account. Doesn't look that blurred on my PC. =/

As I was waiting for Ballista 40 to start at Jugner Forest earlier this evening (playing as Monk on friend's account), I noticed the detail of the shadow that a Dragoon's wyvern projected was (for FFXI) really, really detailed. Here's what I took:

*Notice in the 2nd shot that even the wyvern's front claws project a shadow. o.O

I know this is a wee-bit off topic (so I won't put the image right on the post), but here's a godlike screenshot of Flight Simulator X at Paris, France that I took yesterday that I just can't seem to stop staring at:

If you have any inquiry about the FSX shot, PM me so we don't derail this thread totally XD

Res 1680X1050 BG Res. 2048X2048 Mipmapping through Registry (4)

Not too bad. Could use a lil more tweaking, but looks pretty nice.

That looks really good, but I thought MipMapping made the textures pixelated? Read on wiki that mipmapping downsizes textures... I could be way off, so please correct me if so.

I run AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 5200+ @ 2.6GHz, 2 GB RAM, on a Gigabyte SLI-S5 MoBo, with a single ATI x1650 Pro 512 MB Turbo Iceq video card. Typically get 29 FPS at full graphics settings on 1680x1050 resolution.
Only place that my FPS really drops below 29 is Whitegay MH and Dynamis areas. Typically get 25ish FPS in Dynamis on full settings at that res. For that last SS, I bumped up the background res to 2048x2048.
It caused a bit lower FPS than I wanted (under 25), so I changed it back to match screen res.

As for the mipmapping thing, have you ever noticed that distant textures like walls seem to have a shimmer when you move? Changing mipmapping to a higher setting (more than 2) will noticeably decrease that effect. I prefer the look of mipmapping at 3 or 4 personally. Makes it look more realistic, having distant objects slightly blurred.

Here's a few I liked.

It looks pixelated in the background to me... But I'm just picky with that XD. Otherwise, lookin' good man. Really like the last shot.

I'm running Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @3.0GHz (cooled with Tuniq Tower) on an eVGA 680i (Rev. A2) Motherboard. 2GB Corsair XMS2 RAM CL 5-5-5-15, with an eVGA GeForce 8800 GTS at 615MHz core, 1000MHz Memory bus. My FPS around Jeuno never drops below 25 much like you, but the sometimes crowded Rolanberry Fields bazaar area can make it slump to 20 or so. It would never even budge from 29 (game locks at 30 ><) if SE implemented multi-CPU support. I scored a 9208 on FFXI Bench 3 XDDD. I keep the BG textures on 2048x2048 at all times, and I simply refuse to lower the detail, characters shown on screen, and the draw distance even slightly. Go big or go home.

I've got to get Aht Urhgan and CoP for PC so I can really take some insane shots.

I like the bottom one.

And guys, please, .JPG = Shitty, so try to make the file quality as high as you can before uploading it =( or just make them smaller.. some of those shots i have to scroll over to see the whole thing anyway, even with 1440 wide resolution; it doesn't need to be that big >.>

Ya, JPEG is mad shitty. Unfortunately, I'm too cheap to pay for photobucket, so file size is limited. My monitor is 22" widescreen Acer at 1680x1050 resolution. Those are the actual size, but I suppose I could shrink them a bit.

The middle shot of Purgonorgo really looks great. Just stick a "Wish you were here" on there and you've got yourself a good FFXI Postcard.
