I had bought 2 choco-cards, both black, to have a black chocobo (to look pimp). I had handed them both in, got the egg, and brought it to San'D'Oria. When it hatched, it was yellow. I was quite pissed, but my friend said all chocobos hatch yellow, and don't assume thier color until they mature. Is this true? Around how long will it take them to mature? Thank you for any information^^

Yes its true, all chocos hatch yellow. You wont know its possible color till about 2 weeks from now, when it changes to the next stage..at which point the tips of the feathers will tell you what color it *may* be. It's supposedly quite possible to have a chick with black feather tips end up turning yellow after it reaches adult stage.

Thank you for the information ^^ Hmmm, since both parents to the chocobo were black, what do you think the chances are that the baby chocobo is going to be black colored?

Yes, all chicks are hatched yellow. You won't be able to tell what color it will be until it hits the teen stage at Day 19. It's body will be yellow, but the color on the tips of its feathers will indicate what color it will be as an adult. If the tips are white, then it will be a yellow chocobo. Breeding two parents that are the same color is your best chance to get that color, but it's still not 100%.

All chicks hatch yellow and by day 19 the tail and head get some color. My first chocobo was yellow i bred her with a blue and the choco turned out blue. I gave two cards of her away. The people told me they each bred with a blue choco. Which resulted in 2 blue chocos. I also have a black choco which bred with 2 other black chocos and the results were 2 black chocos. So I would say that you have at least an 80% chance of getting a black choco which also depends on the genes of the 2 chocos that you bred. Just hope the black chocos didn't have any yellow parents which would lower the chance of a black choco being made.
