5/7 on claim, no drop. I've got his spawn habits pretty much down and can claim fairly easily. The last missed claim I was talkin' to my house mate and I missed what time the PH died, so some guy just ran in and got claim while I was wonderin' when the NM would show up. lol

I haven't seen anyone that I could positively say was RMT in room since the update. It's been a refreshing change of pace camping against people with whom I sometimes have conversations between pops.

OMG more fucking RMT today!!! I saw one of them get the Kyahan drop yesterday and claimed Quu again today. WTF!?? They haven't been here since the update...just started showing up yesterday and now there are more and more coming.

0/34 atm...I'm really starting to hate this fucking game.

Edit: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got the drop at 7am this morning after another all-nighter. 1/36 definitely makes this my most prized NM drop to date ^^

Falasies/Rumors of these Notorious Monsters

Treasure Hunter does NOT improve droprate (for those who don't know)... Quu Domi the Gallant drops Strider Sword or Sarutobi Kyahan 100% of the time and Mee Deggi the Punisher drops Impact Knuckles or Ochimusha Kotes 100% of the time. These NM's can drop any time.

There are rumors that the NMs can drop their original items (Mee Deggi the Punisher dropping Ochuido's Kote and Quu Domi the Gallant dropping Fuma Kyahan... This is NOT true!! They can only drop the rare/ex kote and shoes... and the lolknuckles and lolsword

Here is basic information about the the Placeholder (PH):

1. The level for NO AGGRO in the pop areas is level 51!!!

2. The placeholder type for Mee Deggi the Punisher is either a Yagudo Interrogator or Yagudo Drummer. Quu Domi the Gallant's Placeholder is either a Yagudo Herald or Yagudo Oracle.

3. In each of the corners (and middle platform) there will only be 2 yags. When you see 3 one of them is the placeholder (you eliminate it to 2 because of PH type)

4. PH can go ANYWHERE and I mean ANYWHERE... It can walk across the water, go up and down the platform, switch corners and more

5. The addition for PHes spawning (RIGHT when they die) is 5:07 game time however... Angina's way on Allakhazam says 5:00 Vanadiel time game time... You only add 5:00 game time when corpse vanishes from screen... Do which ever one you prefer. They both work

6. The pop time of the Notorious Monsters is 1-3 hours...Although I have heard of rumors like on FFXIclopedia saying it can take as long as 8 hours

Here are the five ways I know of how to find placeholder.

1. ALL JOBS!!!!!: Notice a PH type mob walk DEEP (not just shallow water) into the water, walk up/down the cliff, move corners, etc.

2. ALL JOBS (w/ AoE or can kill 2 yags fast same time)!!!!!: Kill the 2 placeholder mobs at the SAME time (AoE)... Wait for them to repop in 5:07. Whichever one repops in a differen't corner to become 3rd yagudo in the corner...That will be placeholder

3. RNG/BST ONRY!!!!!: On widescan the placeholder is the yagudo below the cutter (Can someone check this? I am not sure...It's either the one below or above there is a widescan 'chart' on Allakhazam. I'm not sure it's right. Can someone test this? Link is http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/bestiary.html?fmob=260 (scroll a little down). Just kill it and add 5:07 game time and that will be your placeholder.

4. THF 45+ ONRY!!!!!:You can do this with all the yags in the room, or the corner you know the mobs where one of the PH's is in, or all the PH mobs... which ever you prefer just Make sure the Yagudo ELEMENTALS are dead.. When you have your train go deep in the water and hide (the Job Ability). You should lose hate from all the yagudos on your train and the yagudo you pulled should be yellow. Within a few seconds the yagudos should depop which means they will disappear then repop in their corner in a minute or two. The only yagudo that won't depop (because it can go anywhere in the room) is the placeholder. The placeholder will walk toward a corner and you just kill it.

5. ALL!!!!!:This is the one I discovered...It's the most confusing to say so bear with me. When you get to the point w/ two yagudos in a corner (one PH one not) then try to "make them" go towards the water or go off to an other corner. I mean try moving your character close to them using basic angles to make them move in one direction. When they are still and you move next to them they won't go through you (I have noticed this) unless they don't have anywhere else to go like turning around. If the yagudo enters the water keep pushing it until it gets deep or move it to switch a corner. This will be the placeholder! The other one will refuse to go deep in the water/switch corners...

When you know the placeholder just add 5:07 Vanadiel time right when it turns gray and dies... Mee Deggi the Punisher/Quu Domi the Gallant usually DO NOT pop on time. You will have to keep on your toes the second you kill the placeholder to after the placeholder pops (PH and NM can be out at the same time)

Questions I have (PM me or post here if you know answers)

1. Does wearing Ochuido's Kote/having it in inventory decrease the drop rate?
2. Would it be worth it to sell Ochuido's Kote (once) I get them or should I wait in a few months or later (price could go up... I don't know )
3. Can the placeholders change types (For example, you're hunting Quu Domi the Gallant and you kill the Yagudo Herald PH. Can that yagudo pop as a Yagudo Oracle?

Treasure Hunter affects the drops on NM's that can drop multiple things yet not one thing or another 100% of the time like these yagudo NM's... Mee either drops knuckles or kotes 100% of the time... TH useless since it can drop anytime. Same w/ Quu

Firstly, I want to say that I am not convinced that Treasure Hunter will affect your drops on these NMs. Treasure Hunter is not a "Good-drop" heat-seeking missile - it boosts drop rates on ALL possible drops by an equal, unknown percentage. This means that since receiving a drop from either NM is already 100% guaranteed, even though it might not be the "good" drop you get, it's arguable that /THF or THF main isn't going to enhance your drop rates.

I camped Mee Deggi a LOT of times with and without TH2 and I beyond a shadow of a doubt know that I got Ochiudo's kote more with TH2.

That's called LUCK. You said it yourself: TH affects ALL drops. It increases the odds of Kote dropping but it also increases the odds of Impact Knuckles dropping the exact same amount. Since only 1 or the other can drop and he always drops one or the other, you get the exact same odds you had before TH. Use some common sense before you say something is stupid.

I was curious if TH helped at all with this drop due to it dropping one or the other. It might make the droprate for O Kotes increase but would simutaneously make the Knuckles rate increase thus nulling the O Kote rate. That was my guess anyway.



anyway went 1/6 yesterday on Mee. Coincidently it was a Full moon and Lightsday, someone camping with me said they have exceptional luck on lightsday/full moon. This is that age old rumor, but he said he was 8/70 with nearly all his drops happening on Fullmoon/Lightsday.

This NM is a joy to camp, and seemed to pop like clockwork for me.

I'm 0/21 on Mee Deggi and 1/7 on Quu Domi since the update. This droprate takes the piss.

Oh and about 10 of those Mee Deggi kills have been with a THF with TH3, so I'm doubting TH works at all.
