To the OP - in all seriousness - there are normal (meaning not interesting in messing with your mind) girls who play FFXI but there's not many of us, and most of us do have RL guys already or aren't looking for in-game goodies.

I honestly just think most guys should only hope for an in-game friendship with someone cool who you can do in game stuff with. If it's all about you giving her time, things and gil, it will not work out. Don't give her presents and don't just show up and PL if she hasn't asked you. You can offer, and you can say "I'm skilling up on arrows, want some?" but don't expect anything in return. A normal cool girl who likes hanging out with you will reciprocate and try to give you things or time too.

If she is in the market for an ingame bf, and she's chill, then you can go from there (....maybe to RL. Maybe). But you being the big man and doing everything for her will just make you feel used because you'll secretly think she owes you and you won't get what you want. And if she's cool, it'll make her feel obligated, which is never a good thing in any kind of friendship.

I haven't even gotten to the cybering thing. That just messes everything up. It's rare that people can cyber, no strings, no weirdness, no relationship... or strings + happy relationship in game. It's really rare and you must never forget that screenshots exist. Go offline to do it and don't expect anything else.
