Without food i have 15Int and 200extra mana, My base int is 62 and my mana is 750 with equip..
I use Pumpkins Pies as food.. that gives me near 800 MP and +20int

I understand that Hume must have the best equip possible... and i work hard for it...

i CAN outdamage a ranger... but why waste 50% of my total mana on one single monster? its almost non stop pull if i use more then 30% i'm going to lack latter on..

WE blm outdamage anyone we just blast it to hell.. but talking on a GROUP basis, we not going to outdamage and keep the mana up for long time.. blm aquile's heel!! MANA!! Ranger just need lets see.. arrows.. no sitting no nothing.. thats why on fast xp group they would not get a tarutaru using 50pct of the mana that can't keep the damage for 4 fights

lol, I only use about 30% of my mp which is all regened by the time the next mob is pulled... and I still out damage the ranger (usual fight is Aero III for 460 damage, water III for 410 damage, stone III for 380 damage, Blizzard II for 300 damage, Blizzarga II mbed for 700~750 damage).. let's see that's about 500 mp (this is a guess) out of my 900+ and I have refresh+ballad on the whole fight so at the end I still have around 700 mp which will be full by the time the puller is back. The ranger hits for 90~100 normal attack and around 1k with sidewinder IF they all hit so probably does around 1000 to 2000 damage total while I just did 2000 total.

as I said before this is my experience, not an across the board generality.. my base int is 73+23 right now..

rng/sam with proper equip can rip an enemy to pieces and generate a lot of very quickly at 1600 damage a shot with sidewinder. Pile up the 120hp+ per shot from the bow and thats a lot of damage.

Ranger
Fight starts and the ranger builds up TP.
Fires off sidewinder after skillchain start
Mediate
New skillchain starts
Fires sidewinder a second time
Paladin panics and uses cover
Warrior says "WTH just happened?"
Dark says "If I had money I'd get a cool hat too"

Blm (easier route)
Lightning II
Stone III
Aero III
Quake
Only reason this is easier is that a blm can switch from spells easier since this is an easier job to play. Only problem is spell delay timers. Ranger doesn't deal with that but can have a higher damage output.

O.K. this is reeal offtopic but i might start BLM tommorrow I need help tho..... can BLM get parties moderately quick? are the spells worth it (GOD BLAZE SPIKES LOOKS AWESOME!) how much do spells cost in ratio to rdm/whm spells? and i'm a hume does that count against me?

Actually fighting ITs it's feasible for a DRK to do that dmg. I've sene it done.

which brings me back to my first point... I have -11 enmity and the RNG has -0... which allows me to do more damage without getting hate smile.gif

Blackmage is soloable untill about level 11 or 12. Then you can just accellerate yourself by leveling in parties in vulkurm. Stone and aero will be your best bet against crabs since they are a water type elemental and fire doesn't do all that well. Blizard will do better when you get level 17. For lizards stone and fire works nicely.

BLM are Awesome, but there are certain cases where they
become a bit of a burden.

1> When they are too cheap to buy juice for refresh
2> When your party does not have Bard or RDM..

Im not sure about your server but on Diabolos RDM and BRD in
the LVL 50 range are few and far between.

I think alot of the hate that BLM's get is not because of the damage
they deal, its because of the downtime they can potentially cause.

I love to have a BLM in my party, if they are able to keep MP up

If they need to rest to full, its just hurting the Party's XP Efficiency.

If there is no RDM/BRD available I would just as quickly get 2 whm and 4 melee and have the whm trade off resting to keep the XP chain going rather than 1blm 1whm

I dont know... thats just my 2 cents

well i understand the 'not wanting downtime'

but what most ppl do not see and i do not mean to irritate anyone out there

the reason blm's have so much downtime is cause they make up for dmg that melee's cannot deal, later at higher lvl some mobs take very little from melee's.

so yea just tryin to defend blm's here since i am one.

and instead of 2 whm's which can hurt at times more then help, try two blm's. 2 blm's can deal out usually more dmg per battle then a tank dependin on the mob and how well they work together so do not go blowin off the blm's just yet ^^

BLMs shouldnt have downtime. I sub it, so i have a general idea. My neighbor is lvl 59, this is what we have gathered. BLMs are meant to enfeeble until the melee has enough TP to do a weapon skill, then the BLM Magic Bursts. In higher lvls, they're just suppose to burst. I/We could be wrong. Thoughts?

Most blm's I play with either stay medding for a bit when the fight begins or start off with a set of debuff spells... mostly so the tanker can amass the hate first.... then they start nuking... although it varies depending on the specific player... ^^a

JP BLM's have a tendency to play backup healer until MB's... and that's the only time they cast damage spells. I've only known one exception to this.. at least with the blm's I've pt'd with ^^a

I've been in partying with a fair amount of JP groups because of my wierd time zone, and I have to agree that JPs value BLMs more than NA players do. We all know JPs are all about the SCs and efficiency, and they always have at least one BLM in their PT for the MBs and back up healing purpose. I'm not sure if it's my time zone or what, but I get a lot of invites from JP groups than NA at my lvl (lvl45) now.

it depends on your pt setup and i agree with meo... in jp pts i debuff and heal until its time for a burst and maybe throw in a spell or 2 extra ... but that again depends on your pt setup i was with a brd and a rdm absolutely no downtime smile.gif

Another

benefit that BLM has is quickening the battle. I dont know if anyone of you has noticed,

but as soon as the mob is pulled, it's debuffs galore. I have noticed that debuffs will

kill a mob a LOT quicker. So when I enter a battle heres what I do...

-As soon as

the mob is pulled, I start unloading all debuffs on mob which will waste 15%~ roughly of mp.

(I dont use blind if the WHM or PLD has "Flash" cause then you're just wasting MP.

Blind will give the PT's healer some relief) Debuffs also dont build very much hate if any

so this gives the tanks some time to build up hate.
-Then I start healing. As I'm

healing I watch the mob's HP and get a mild idea of how fast it's going down.
-After

restoring a little MP I'll go to work nuking. If the mob is within 20% of HP left, I go

ahead and rest and let the Melee's finish it up to build TP.

By the time the next

mob is back I'm at about 85-100% of MP plus my HP is at 100% because I'm out of range of

AOE attacks and I dont ever pull any aggro.(depending on refresh)

Not to say that I

dont use a generous amount of nuking, but remember that debuffs are VERY important. They

lower the mob's accuracy, defense, and attack. Not to mention DOT(Damage over time)spells.

I dont think DOT spells do very much damage unless it's Poison II, but it's nice to know

that your spells are still hard at work killing the mob way after you've cast them. smile.gif



For the guy earlier who was asking, lvling BLM is a little harder in lower lvls

because you need to nuke a little more than in later lvls. At lower lvls, just make sure

that you are laying heavy on the "Blind" spell.


But all in all, I'd say the

absolutely HARDEST BLM thing to do is solo BLM to lvl10...with no subjob.

had a drk 75 help me

with genkai 1 his guillotine did 1300 dmg to a poor tiger in beaucidine

Thats guilotine a Weapon Skill and he got all hits

in, against an IT it will be much less. A blm is consistent damage time after time. When a

blm casts, things go poof.
