It's important to get all the info, look at the stats posted, glean the information for yourself, and form your own opinion on gear.
A perfect example would be the Jet Vs Mahatma thread.

Exactly. Like I said, I always find it best to consider more than one source before claiming something is fact. What works for one person, may not necessarily work for another; macros, strats, subjobs and to a certain degree gear, can be very situational and very individual. There's not always one right way to do anything in FFXI, but quite often there are some very wrong ways, lol.

Like I said, I would just give a link to that thread in general. If someone can't skim through that thread and get a pretty good idea of what kind of different gears BLMs use, even without it being plainly laid out for them like in the post you're referring to, then I don't know what to do for them.

Also, if you want to link to a thread about Sorcerer's Ring, this thread has much better discussion about it. Even though it's a bit older (causing me to chuckle a bit at the gear I posted about using at the time) several people explain the concept of how the ring calculates your HP better.
