NIN at level 10 gets the first Dual-wield job trait. That is 10% off total delay. 2nd one is at level 25 (or level 50/25nin) is another 15%.

I think you meant to say 'another 5%', not 'another 15%'?
Lv10 DW1 = 10% = 10% total
Lv25 DW2 = 5% = 15% total
Lv45 DW3 = 5% = 20% total
Lv65 DW4 = 10% = 30% total

heh. Thanks. I have some updating to do and i should really add in solo equipment choices. Not sure if i should put soloing stuff in the same list, it might make the individual levels a bit too cluttered.

i was wondering if these were generally 'accepted' choices for xp 61+. thf was my first job, and i took it to 61 before lack of decent tanks drove me to be a tank myself, and now after playing the game for a few years ive been thinking of coming back to the job. however, i havent ptd w/many thfs or kept up w/the updates very well *im in the navy and being underway a lot causes me to miss out on a surprising amount of information* so im just trying to do a little research before i gear it up. i would use the search function, but it takes about 15mins or so to load a page onboard. thanks for any input.

yessir. They are. If it isn't on the list, it's probably not worth the gil. RSE might come in and overtake certain pieces but generally you're good to go with anything on the list. It doesn't only list the top notch expensive stuff... hence the colours.

For leg? Stick with What you're using until you can upgrade to Homam for TP and Heca for WS (lolNidhogg abjuration ;
. Those are good pieces. Don't buy Dusk Legs. They're poo.

I'd take +14 attack over +3 accuracy (vendor's slops) for TPing any day.

Dagger DoT is often pretty iffy. Around 28ish archer's knives might have a much better party wide benefit. Pretty much why nins dual yoto'ing forever often happens. Personally I would suck up hitting for like 20 less melee damage if it meant landing an acid bolt. Off handing one isn't terrible and really thief's superness comes from SATA, which would take a very small blow from using an archer knife in the off hand. A lot of newer players are poor so archer's knive might let them land bolts without sushi, then again if you can't get sushi then you prolly can't get bolts. Daggers are low damage weapon, which means attack is significantly less important to thieves then say a dark knght. I mention this since the damage difference from hitting a mob with an acid bolt landed on it vs normal def for a 2 hander will prolly make up a hit or several of a thief's dagger's. So yeah, archer's knives might not be terrible nor would having an racc equip macro.
Very grateful you had the sense to tell people what to TP in vs WS in. AF pants are not ok to melee in. Republic subligar are amazing and bastokan (NQ) are great as well. I guess some people find the aesthetics a problem, but then again I enjoyed running around in the AF belly button shirt sporting no pants and a pair of lizard leather gogo boots.
If this is mostly aimed toward new players it might be a good idea to start it off with explaining what stats you want to look for and possibly in what amounts are they comparative. If people learn what they should be wearing and why it places them in a position where they can began to intelligently decide what to wear.
Such as explaining how dex, agi, atk, acc, str, haste, racc etc are relevant. For instance, while attack is less important to thief than some other jobs, most thieves dismiss near completely, which is a sad no no.

I guess but it's a little expensive isn't it? Meh. I've been doing limbus long enough now and i'm still Homamless...

Absolute rubbish.
I agree with quite a lot of your post but i don't want to confuse people with the guide. I want it to be detailed whilst being very simple. Thieves that care enough will do their own research. This isn't a Thief guide. It's an equipment guide. I expect someone who is willing to read this to be able to read the other stickies and understand Thief.
But the idea that low damage means attack is less useful is entirely wrong. This isn't the place to argue it but say that on a regular thief thread and expect to get nasty flame wars erupting

I thought youd have full homam by now bugg^^
Anyways, barbarossah zereh's(even though rare, nice supplement for homam) and pahluwahn serawheels(easy to get) are great options for tping depending on what youre doing. The pahluwan pants are nice for WS and solo too.
Attack keeps our minimum damage higher correct? So i believe bugg is completely right. You need to keep those numbers up so you arent hitting for 0. Unless we are talking about XP mobs, in which case the same goes imo... why not do decent damage while DoT too?
Sorry didnt read the part about 1-33 thief/mnk or /war... that stage is usually over in a month. But i was wondering if you agree all those numbers are a bit confusing. I saw the formulas and just skipped it. I think people should know damage doesnt vary much at that level and there isnt much gear to maximize stats. from what i saw i did more dmg as thf/mnk 1-33. and as thf/mnk when i did promy ENMs. the point is, i think the formulas detract from the simplicity and the help this guide is supposed to provide.

o.O;
Heh i changed my Limbus group quite often. I'm waiting around for a Corazza before i try and get the rest of my Homam shizno. I'm quite happy with waiting. That's what this game's about
I'll consider putting the Pahluwan pants in the guide but i think a Dragon Subligar would be better for WS (+4 DEX?).
I think Barbarosa's legs are in the guide.
The formula's aren't a part of the guide. They are just there as me giving an explaination to someone who was asking about H2H and Swords for 1-33. I'm not expecting people using this guide to read past the first post.
