Maximized Bird Theory

I'm currently breeding a black choco with maxed STR and END, which also knows Gallop and Canter. The DISC, and RECEP are both 1/8, obviously, but I had and idea to max out all 4 stats.

My theory is this:

Raise a choco with maxed physical stats, and preferably already knows Gallop. Then race this chocobo to earn Chocobucks. According to the current numbers floating around the forums, it takes anywhere between 2-5 80-training sessions to raise a stat one full level, which is 2,240-5,600 chocobucks to fully maxed out both stats from Poor to First-Class. I am unsure as to how many chocobucks you can hold at any given time.

80 x 5 (number of sessions needed) = 400 bucks per stat, per day.

Only 7 upgrades are needed to raise a stat from Poor to First-Class, so it would only require 14 days to max out two stats, assuming only one stat was raised a single level on any given day.

While the first bird is racing, and earning chocobucks, you then start to raise a second bird, one that already knows Gallop and Canter. Take the physical stats to First-Class, then set the care schedule to Basic Care. Then commence to give it the Training Sessions to raise the DISC and RECEP. Enough time should still remain before Day 63 rolls around. I am also unsure if stats can be raised via training beyond day 63. If so, all the better. If not, you should still have time to max the stats before day 63.

Granted, 80 races a day to raise a stat is a lot, and can be quite time-comsuming; which is the reason for the first choco: To begin earning choco bucks before training sessions are actually needed. I am unsure if the training purchased is in the form of a key item, a tradable item, or an immediate use upon time of purchase.

If the trainings can be purchased, then saved, then it will be easier to save up, then begin raising a choco.

There is still information that is needed before this theory can be finalized, but I'm certain that the basic concept will work.

A black choco, knowing Gallop, and Canter, with all four stats maxed, would be a fine chcocobo indeed... biggrin.gif

how much gil are we looking at in order to raise one stat? because the price of racing to earn chocobucks rises with each race...

That depends on how many races you do per day.

I hope you really like chocobo racing.... because it takes about 10 hours of racing to raise a stat 1 full level

I raised a chocobo with max str and end along with having gllop and cantor. I power-leveled (ie: used choco-bucks) on my last level of str and end, then tried to do the same for discerment and receptivity before I hit day 64.

I can confirm that it will take 5-6 upgrades to gain a full level.
The max number of choco-bucks is 100, if you have 100 and earn more, your total will stay at 100.
It takes approximatly 2 hours of racing (26-27 races) to get 80 chocobuks assuming you only lose to "super" chocobos.
Since it takes so many races to raise 1 stat, just assume 26,000 gil per upgrade and 130k to 156k for each level.
Raising a stat with choco-bucks will not lower another stat, unless you are past day 64.

I'm afraid your theory has a major flaw. While it is very possible to do 80 races a day, and to raise stats via chocobucks, it is impossible to get a bird's four stats to first class. This is because chocobos have a hard cap.

A chocobo can only have a total of 637~ points distributed on its four stats. A fully capped stat takes 255 points. Thus the highest you could get would be FC++STR FC++ END and Impressive+ DIS. If you try to push the chocobucks training on past this point you'll get a warning message, and if you do carry on, you'll be able to raise it, but your other stats will decrease. You simply won't be allowed to go beyond 637~

Here's the point value for each stat level.

Poor: 0-31
Substandard: 32-63
A bit deficient: 64-95
Average: 96-127
Better than average: 128-159
Impressive: 160-191
Outstanding: 192-223
First-class: 224-255

In fact, if you look at the super chocobos in racing, they are capped. STR at FC, DIS/REC at Avg, END at either BTA or Impressive.

Thank you for that info, Antharis! I was not aware that there was cap on total stats for a bird. It certainly a good thing to know. Like I said at first, it was just a theory that I thought might be possible, and I'm glad I know now, than if I were to find out later, after I spent time and gil on the project, lol.

Thank you for this, somone on fairy is claiming to have max stats on all 4 for the cards they are selling, while i don't need a new bird at the moment i was interested in following a plan to get all 4 max if they ever release white chocobos, no wonder they wouldn't share how they raised all 4....

Antharis :
Here's the point value for each stat level.

Poor: 0-31
Substandard: 32-63
A bit deficient: 64-95
Average: 96-127
Better than average: 128-159
Impressive: 160-191
Outstanding: 192-223
First-class: 224-255

I have a question on this...

I noticed that there's a point spread for First Class. Does that mean that a Chocobo with 255 STR is going to be slightly faster than one with 224 STR, even though they are both First Class?

If that's the case, I have a question when levelling stats with Chocobo Racing: If I've achieved First Class in a stat and am continuing to upgrade in order to hit the cap, will the game prevent me from attempting an upgrade when I've reached 255? Or will it allow me to spend 80 Chocobucks on a fruitless upgrade?

Edit: Found the answer to part of my question. Yes, when you reach 255 Strength, if you try to upgrade further, the trainer warns you that further increasing that stat could injure the animal, and he won't let you do it. He won't let you waste the Chocobucks. Still not sure whether a 255 STR Choco is any faster than a 224 Choco, though.
