Einherjar Experience

K, well, just had my first attempt at Einherjar.

Went into Rossweisse's Chamber. Lost horribly, but was expecting it.

Enemies:
-Hyndla : Undead Hound; 12+ of these
-Nickur : Jnun; 6 of these

Boss:
-Morbol Emperor : Morbol

There was some bird thingy that flew by while we were face down, didn't catch it's name, not sure what it was for, only saw it once.

Couple notes:
-If you pull a single mob, Hyndla for instance, every Hyndla in the room will come, no matter their location.
-Undead, so BLM sleep wasn't working. Tried using BRD sleep, not sure how well it worked with Double Dark weather.

I'm definitely looking forward to trying this again, and would love to see what experiences are having.

We went in about half an hour to an hour ago with 24 members. First on our server!

I don't remember which area we entered, but there were X-Bugards and ghosts named "Craven Einherjar". The bugards have A LOT of defense, and the ghosts cast IV spells (as well as paralyze, curse, and a potent sleep- this is a pain since they all attack at once). A blue mage was able to sleep the ghosts as well as a black mage, but they woke up all at once and resisted sleep after that. We wiped after a small army of ghosts attacked.

We got a couple of pages from Balrahn's Reflections, which are rare/ex and gave one member 400 experience points, but that's all.

Things to be aware of:
- Don't attack anything until everyone participating is inside! It's like Limbus; people who are outside after the first hit has landed won't be allowed inside!
- Once you attack one monster, all of the monsters of the same type come with it.
- There is no map!
- Bring a Reraise item! If you stay down for 3 minutes you get booted, and your group will be booted after ten minutes of having only 10 characters inside the area.

Another group just got out and said that they had to fight a room full of manticore. The boss took five minutes to get to 90%. They said that more BLM would have made it easier. :'( Always BLMs.

how many did you go in with?

we went in Rossweisse's Chamber with 17.

there were about 15 Hazhalm bats(single), 20 or more Hyndla(Hound), but no Jnun. Boss was still Emperor Morbal.

you pull one mob and every single one in the zone come, doesnt matter about distance apart or anything, they all aggro at once.

while we were killing the bats, we got this message


dunno if thats cause we killed a lot but it was around the 15 minute mark.

Also while we were killing the bats, a single tiger came. we didnt aggro it though since we still had like 7 bats left. However when we tried looking for it after the bats, it had despawned/disappeared. we searched the whole zone(not that big)

went to try and sac pull the malboro instead of messing with the hounds but had miscommunication and ended up with 20+ hounds and the boss :/

Just tried with 31 I think. We entered on Darksday, got about 15 Mage type Skeletons and 15 Dark Elementals. Grimgerde's I think it was. NM was Ourubon fish. Cleared the Skelys first, was a bit rough but killed them in about 10 mins. Elementals worked us over. Too many sleepga's and not enough poison pots.

I'm not sure how many people we had, I think around 22 or 23. But only 1 bard I beleive, so our attempts at sleeping blew.

Just tried Grimgerde's Chamber. Death death death. Went with 36 people. ONly half got in due to someone pulling a mob. Chigoes throughout on this one. Death by chigoe is a very painful way to die. And these aren't normal chigoes either. There were on crack. But first on server to go in and first to fail. Gotta love that feeling. Looking to go again on this. Update ya more when I get to it again.

entered grim I think, found like 15 Bogy all linked, we took down half of them and we wiped. They all spam Sleepga so bring Poison pots.

HNM was a big buffalo in the middle, spam AoE 350 dmg.

Anyone else get the message about creatures lurking in the shadows, like Noneko did? The group from here that cleared said they didn't get that message, wondering what's it for.

My Linkshell attempted this immediately after the update and maintainence. We entered Rossweisse's Chamber with 12 members. The first branch contained a large number of Skeleton-type monsters called Rotting Huskarl, one Manticore, and one Tiger. I drew the short straw and had to pull, attempted to pull one of the Rotting Huskarls, which linked many of the others. I was able to kite them for a short time, while the rest of the LS attempted to fight one and gained aggro to low HP. We wiped completely, reraised and attempted an avatar pull. It worked, but immediately after getting hit by a player the rest of the Rotting Huskarls relinked with the avatar-pulled one. (The shared-hate thingy these monsters have >.<) We also learned in our experimentation that the Rotting Huskarl will aggro through Sneak; and are susceptibile to Lullaby. Because of the belief that the Tiger and the Manticore would be faster than myself I avoided them, so I cannot comment on any unique aspects they may have.

I recommend the tried-and-true BLM Zerg strategy for future first attempts. Kiting with two diffrent speed mobs present is always trouble, especially if one is faster than you.

when you complete you get Aouloule? and 15k buys most of the items in the update. 5k buys rubber items wich is used in cursed synths. All cursed with these seems to be 100+ smithing

Ampoules of Therion Ichor is the reward that everyone gets for the clear, saved up like assault points and turned into Kishula for rewards.

I'd assume the WAR/PLD/DRK Shadow/Valk set requires 100 smithing, but the mage Shadow/Valk cloth set should be clothcraft.

Our linkshell went in with 36 and got a bunch of ghosts, a random bird and an Orobon NM with a shitload of HP...I pulled the bird when I saw it and we killed it, and the NM, and nothing happened...total drops : 1 xp book, 3 orobon meat >.>, oh and key item Rossweise's feather

So you killed the bird, did you get a message about the creatures becoming restless or calmed? Maybe the random single enemy that runs by will prevent the others from aggroing, allowing the boss to be pulled?

we were i think 3rd group that went in , Siegrune's Chamber.

we got the same message Noneko said while Killing 15+ hounds.

a tiger appeared that we tought he is gonna be there , but he left the area

pulled the boss which was buffalo that spams an AoE move that i forget what its called that does knock back , so have to face him to a wall. but he had alot and i mean ALOT of HP. took us about 9min to get him from 100% to 81% before timing out.

my bet would be the random mob that appears , has something todo with lowering the difficulty of the main boss.

The random mob is a key to something, the group that cleared Grimgerde's here said they had a bird, but they didn't kill it and were still able to beat the boss.

Best we can figure is it's a food chain of sorts, kill in a certain order to maximize drops/points.

Single enemy > Smaller group > Larger group > Boss

My group went in with about 22 people. Ton of bats and a morbolger were in zone. Pulled the bats, all linked, I kited half of them as thf/nin w/ striders while the group killed/slept the others. Wasn't too hard to kite around the whole area without aggroing the boss.

A tiger poped while fighting the bats, it didn't aggro, but someone slept it anyways. Once bats were cleared, tried looking for the tiger and it seemed to despawn. Might be something important.

Pulled Morbolger next, had an incredible amount of HP. He has reraise on, we dispelled it off him. Hits a pld pretty hard, so the NINs tanked after PLDs were dead. We got it down to about 40% before running out of time and half of us dead.
Got about 4 exp scrolls throughout the run.

My group had 2 sets of mobs, the bird, and the boss, one group was about half the size of the other, only reason I brought up the larger/smaller.
