I'll offer my groups experience if it may help. We tried Siegrune's chamber iirc. We had 17 members, pretty balanced i thought. We had 6 Infected Wamouras (MOTHRAS!!) and 6 Jnun i believe (didnt get a chance to count the jnun). And our brd said he saw a manticore at the back so i assume he was the boss. Mothras all linked together of course. we were just unprepared at the beginning and nearly wiped. But we pulled throu and were able to take down 5/6 of the wamoura. No drops from any tho. Didnt see a bird or tiger but we were pretty focused on the mothra. They had a ton of HP and kept healing themselves w/ Exuviation. Funny side note: we had a BLU actually learn Exuviation after the 3rd or 4th fight.
We had no trouble w/ sleeping at all. Double dark weather and earthday when we entered. I guess we got lucky to not have undead all over the room. Didnt seem that hard really. Asside from not knowing what to expect and being a lil overwhelmed at first, i think it could have easily been done. Looking forward to our next attempt.

My LS went in last night with somewhere around 36 people, and were welcomed with some number seeming close to 18-20 skeletons, a pink bird which flew away at 75%, and a marid with chigoes. We were able to knock off 8-10 skeletons before wiping. They were resisting sleeps fairly well, from BLU, RDM, BLM and BRD. I was able to sleep large chunks of the skeletons with light based sleeps, and the BRDs could lullaby but whenever sleep landed it seemed to wear very quickly. We gave up on the skeletons after wiping and aimed for the boss. We had someone sac pull the skeletons and disband alliance, which kept them off of us until someone got blood aggro while fighting the marid. We dispeled the RR on the boss and were trying to handle the fleas, but most of us were still weakened. As well, the marid kept spamming a HP recovery move, Probicis Shower or something, and curing itself for 6700+ HP. Eventually we ran out of time, and all got booted dead, except for a few people left batterd and bruised, but still alive. Do all mobs have to be killed to clear the chamber or just the boss?

We went in with 18 ppl. Our room had about 15 or so Dark Elementals, a bunch of Krackens, and a random bird. There was also an Oboron that got into the mix.
We had 1 BRD i think, and basically got owned by all Dark elemental alliance. lol
I tried sleeping with Yawn and SheepSong but they both failed.

From all the research that a few of us have done we can safely say that there is no scaling in terms of mob count for number of players. This can be proved by one, looking at all accounts of most peoples experiences and two logicly looking at how it would be possible, upon trading your lamp to the door one person effectively goes in, but untill the first mob is engaged(whether through aggro or being pulled) people can still enter all the way till either you have the max number of participants, or one of those previous conditions are met.
Just like other battle fields, and unlike dynamis, once a mob in engaged the battlefield will become locked and no one else will be able to enter. This will be the first and only time the the game will know how many people you have in the battlefield, but since the other mobs have already been generated there would be no way to actually scale it.

Well my group plans to try this on Monday we're going in for a test run with about 15-20 people, guess we'll find out how hard it is for ourselves then. I was really hoping this was going to be something you could do in a small group aswell and not another Dynmamis. =/

Has anyone tried bringing bsts in to charm the normally charmable mobs? seems like a long shot but worth a try at this point imo

Hi, just a random reader of these forums, but seems as though people are interested if the monsters do scale down to the number of players that do enter. We went in with 6 folks last night, Nin-Blu-Mnk-Blm-Rdm-Whm......whatever we got our buttocks caved in prison style. Cant really say what room it was (Had a Marid Boss) and only 6 Undead Toad monsters. And yes, we did run around the entire area to only see 6 Normal mobs, 1 Mega boss, and well the random Brown Bird.
Difficulty wise, we couldnt kill a damn thing. Tried light based sleeps from Bluemage, then tried kiting them away. Hate was very odd, the WHM that was with the NIN (who was kiting) caught aggro via just running right along side him (No provoke/magic was used on the kited mobs or on the players, during the actual kiting). Initial aggro was made via: just running at them so that hate wouldnt be pulled off the said Aggro-ee(? lol).
That is all I can really say about what we saw/did. Hopefully this was sort of insightful.

It seems a few groups have gotten lucky and only had a single group of mobs spawn, and others got the short end of the stick and had 20+ mobs spawn. I hope that has to do with scaling, but I'd assume it doesn't given SE's track record with these kinds of events.

You have to excuse me , what I said before is seemingly false. A friend of mine said it and I thought he quoted it from SE , so don't mind me =P

nice,w e have 1 reported instance of 1 pt spawning fewer mobs! But it still 6 vs 6 for that first fight, and you are gonna loose if you cant get some crowd control...

someone mentioned status bolts to help with crowd control somewhere, may be an idea. SE sais they wanted to make it so that every job has a place, maybe diversifiying will help. instead of several of one job, bring a vareity.

Another thought... for fighting stuff, but did anyone try using those /ja that never get used. Arcane Circle and crap like that. The undead resist one, etc, etc.
Perhaps the effect would be amplified...not really sure how else a dozen unsleepable bombs could be dealt with effectively outside of manaburns.

Our pld popped Holy Circle and I can tell you that his intimidation rate was not increased noticiably on the ghosts we had. Good idea though.

Did Rossweisse's Chamber with 25ish. Got bones, Manticore and that bird popped mid fight. We didn't claim bird when it popped. Wiped to bones. reraised, and tried again. Don't know if anyone mentioned this, but having one person aggro and kite while all focus on one at a time doesn't work. They all converge on person who currently dealing dmg/has hate to that one you pulled. So we got owned.
On second attempt. Bards 2 hred, and skeles were sleeping much longer. KIlled off about 15is of them out of 20ish, before wiping again at 1 min marker. Bird never popped again on second go.
Looks very challenging and fun. Got my vote!

We did Siegrune's Chamber with 21, mobs were roughly 15-20 skeletons, 7-10 worms, malboro boss, and the random mob was a tiger. Only went in with one brd and 2 blus for crowd control, and it didn't work out at all, only got I think 3 skeletons down before wipe. Lullaby/sheep song were never resisted, however the sleeps did not last long, at all, maybe 5-15 seconds at most, often only lasting a second or two after the sleep landed. The skeletons were constantly waking up at a different times, attacking random players (hate system didn't seem to make any sense...) and running around and out of lullaby range, and spamming regular skeleton tp moves that stripped everyones shadows and dealt aoe damage, it was just a total mess.
The tiger ran by when we were in the process of wiping, so we didn't get a chance to kill it, it ran around in the middle of the room amongst the mobs for a few minutes before depopping. Tiger didn't seem to be up when we first entered.
There has to be some trick to this, as I don't think SE intended players to go in with like 4-5 brds just spamming lullaby to deal with these links. Probably need to pop the random bird/tiger/etc mob and kill it before engaging. Only things I can think of are simply waiting maybe five or so minutes after entrance for said mob to pop and pull it, OR try having a player aggro the mobs and suicide (a sacrifice?) without taking action against them, so it shouldn't aggro the alliance, since it seems like death might be what causes these mobs to pop. We will try this next time if nobody has figured anything out by sunday.
For whatever it's worth, after we wiped and reraised, we tried pulling the malboro just to test it out, and it caused all of the skeletons to aggro the alliance, also drew in the player that tried to pull it.

This was a theory I brought up during LS chat, while my LS had a group doing Einherjar.
The crows, tiger, and sheep, are supposed to be pets of Odin, maybe they're charmable and can be used against the boss to prevent it from doing certain things. It seems a bit of a stretch, but it's also something that SE would throw at us. Anyone planning on bringing a bst that would be willing to give this a shot?
For what it's worth, my LS's group went up against 6 jnuns, the marid boss, and had the tiger. They killed the tiger, nothing seemed to happen. Couldn't get the boss past 99%.
