Cor HNM Setup / Quickdraw

Ive been using corsair in HNM lately and i had some questions about the HNM setup and quickdraw. My current setup is MP/AGI so i can assist healing while buffing and quickdrawing. My setup only has +15 AGI in it and is as follows:

Elemental staff // (according to the shot)
Corsairs Tricorne // (+ quickdraw effect)
Blue Cotehardie // (+40 mp, +4 AGI)
Magna Gauntlets // (+24 mp)
Crimson Cuisses // (+25 mp, +12% movement speed)
Wood M Ledelsens // (+6 AGI, +30 mp)
Lamia Mantle // (+24 mp)
Powerful Rope // (+20 mp)
Beak necklace // (+20 mp, +1 hmp)
Ether Ring // (+30 mp)
Astral Ring // (+25 mp)
Moldavite earring // (+5 MaB)
Antivenom earring // (+15 mp, +1 hmp)
Peacemaker (+5 AGI)

I know that some things like beak necklace and lamia mantle could be +1, and i cold have elvaan jse rope for 40 more MP. I guess my question is should i be using more +AGI in my setup to help quickdraw?

Secondly, does the quickdraw effect last until the debuff wears?

And lastly, even if the quickdraw does low dmg, does it still take an effect? or is it resisted?
(example hitting for 180, then next debuff hitting for 40)

Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thx.

According to PvP tests, Light Shot will further reduce DEF on a Dia'd target even if the sleep effect fails, so that seems to be the case. Quick Draw seems to enhance the debuff for the remainder of its duration. Hence, I'd probably use a Corsair's Gun if you're trying to deal damage since the debuff effect is not at stake.

MP gear is okay, but you don't need to wear it after you've cast some spells. You could sub RDM for the +20 magic attack and stay at a low MP level (toss Cure III whenever you have the MP for it) and equip Ugg Pendant for another +8 magic attack if you want to focus on Quick Draw damage. Obis are neat too.

well i wanted to know if the dmg of quickdraw effected if it was resisted or not, and or if i should but using more AGI to stick the debuff effect on HNMs

As far as I know, a resisted Quickdraw will still give the same added effect. So if you're only concerned about the added effect, +MP is probably the way to gear yourself. My HNM set-up (which I wish I could use more often to test...damn BLM usefulness) is geared towards landing Quickdraw for full damage as a legitimate damage dealing tool while still keeping rolls up. Quickdraw damage ignores mob defense, so it's possible to do QD for 200-300 dmg every 50 seconds without feeding the mob TP. I usually come /RDM (unless its a mob that really requires /WHM -na spells) with the following set-up:

-HQ Elemental Staff according to shot
-Corsair's Gun
-Corsair Bullet (only really need 1 bullet since you shouldn't be shooting)
-AF Hat
-Agile Gorget/Uggalepih Pendant
-Moldavite Earring
-Novio Earring
-Blue Cotehardie +1
-Mage's Cuffs
-Breeze Ring x 2 (Serket + Tamas macrod out)
-Commander's Cape
-Scout's Belt (Elemental Obi per day)
-War Brais +1
-Crimson Greaves

This is pretty much a max AGI + MAB build. I've used it pretty effectively against sky gods. The only other HNMs I've gotten to play with are Cerb (who resists everything pretty much) and briefly Nidhogg (the only thing I used on him was Light Shot because we had some darter fun...landed 6/10 I think). I find that I have plenty of MP even though this set-up pretty much ignores the MP build, especially if I'm in a party that needs Evoker's Roll. With MP merits, I start with around 300 MP. My role in the fight isnt concentrated on healing, so I find that I never burn through my MP that fast.

Only you can answer that question, since it depends a lot on which HNM you're fighting and whether you have QD accuracy merited. I haven't fought a ton of HNM's as COR, but I've noticed a pretty substantial resist rate on most Sky Gods and Kirin, even with around +30 AGI equipped in gear.

It was recently shown that Quick Draw enhances debuffs even if the shot itself misses completely, which was a very nice finding:

I've been meaning to test if multiple Quick Draw'd enfeebles are effective at one time. ie, if I ice a Paralyze then earth a Slow, does the additional boost to Paralyze vanish?

Denali legs and body are sexy for Quick Draw, and Skadi hands, if you can get them.

have you all seen a difference when using uggalepih pendant for QD. ive been debating buying one because the description of the latent on wiki is:

Latent Trigger: The latent activates when the caster's MP at the completion of a spell, expressed as a percentage of maximum MP from visible equipment--discounting Convert HP to MP armor--is strictly less than 51%.

seeing as QD isnt a spell i am a little worried that it may not work.

if someone can show me it works ill buy a pendant right now 0.0

Uggalepih Pendant has been proven to work for Quick Draw, same as any other MAB item.

However, you can only activate its latent if you're subbing a /mage job and have a natural mp pool. Having mp from merits or gear doesn't count and you won't be able to activate it with just that.

I'm not done a whole lot of NMs with QD, only really Proto-Omega, Ouryu, and everything in sea/sky.

I could never get over a 50% resist rate with AGI+37 and MAB+28 equiped, granted I can sacrifice some MAB gear for AGI gear - that is only head, main, neck, and ear. neck and ear possibly but main and head need to stay what they are.

Is the difference alot more noticable at 75? And with 5/5 QD accuracy?

Elemental Obis from sea work as well 0.0 ive taken my QD damage to almost 400 w/ blm sub, all buffs, and an obi on the proper day. and it sounds silly but on an open Hpemde w/ blm sub ive gotten up to 720+.

for HNM, Gods, Sea, and other events outside of XP i would have to say QD/Buff is what i prefer

I plan on using a full AGI/-enmity setup if I ever get to go as COR to an endgame event (BRD and SMN curse my COR opportunities sad.gif ). My linkshell doesnt really like anyone Curing people other than the WHMs and RDMs for enmity issues so I'd only be using /RDM for magic atk bonus and stoneskin.
