EXP loss

#1

i have a question about BST .... i keep hearing that if they are in a party and have a charmed mob the party takes an EXP loss is this true and if it is how much is it and whats it dependant on can an experienced Beast Master help me out?

i know there is always the fear that the mob will turn on you but is that the only drawback to BST?

yes it is true. due to the fact that the bst usually charms something that is out of the lvl range in the party. the monster acts as another party member so the lvl of it contributes to the exp gain.

As far as I know the party as a whole only takes an experience penalty when the Beastmaster's pet is a level above the highest level in the party.

BST takes an exp loss with a charmed mob, the party does not. I'm not sure about the exact numbers but I think it's a 25% exp loss..

As far as finding a party as a BST, good luck. BST is pretty much a soloing class, and for the most part it's because there is the general misconception that the party DOES take an exp loss. Kinda sucks if you're a BST, but then again it's the perfect job if you like soloing.

Actually using a summon from a broth does still cause the -30% reduction. smile.gif

You wouldn't have to worry about this at all. As far as I know, the only time an xp penalty is given is if the charmed pet is still charmed and alive at the end of the battle. So after 35 when the bst's get "leave" I think they make a hell of a party member.
