I wrote my god damned haiku, I was expecting for decoration or something. But what, the event is over and we don't get squat? I'm from Asura. >:/

Questions regarding the "Celestial Nights" special event
Regarding the "Celestial Nights" event that took place on the Linkshell Community:
I participated but did not enjoy it very much.
Please elaborate on why you selected this answer.
I really enjoy both events and haiku, so I was excited about this event. However, I seem to be one of the few on my server (Cerberus) who feels this way. So though I participated as much as I could, I still missed out on getting event items because others were unwilling or unable. Also, looking at the different haiku was not fun b/c there was no way to tell what language they would be in before clicking on a tag.
Regarding the Linkshell Community (creation of [official] threads, posting of comments) having an effect in the game:
I don't want any more events linked with the Linkshell Community.
Please elaborate on why you selected this answer.
I understand most events are geared towards participation with others on the server, but making rewards dependent on the entire server's participation is unfair will most likely create more feelings of resentment than enjoyment. How many servers actually received the in-game rewards?
Please share your opinions and requests regarding events linked between the game and websites (not necessarily just the Linkshell Community).
Many people are simply uninterested in the events, and even less will be if they have to go to a website to participate. I would guess most people don't have a way to easily switch between the game and a website, especially since there is no SE-sanctioned windower. In the future, please don't base in-game rewards on outside criteria.

I didnt really like celestial nights because even though I did my part, Midgard wasnt able to get the in-game stuff because not enough people participated, which sucked ;-;.
As for an event like this in the future, I sent SE a proposition like this in the question 10 box of their servey:
Tell me what you think of this idea.
As for an event like this in the future, I sent SE a proposition like this in the question 10 box of their servey:
I beleive that if you would like an event linked between in game and websites, and a sort of hunt, Where you give clues out to where to start, say a Premier site, you cooperate with the staff there, Once the player goes there, there will be another clue as to what link to follow on their site, and players would follow this trail of links to get to a certain page which would have something for in game, like a word to tell a moogle. You could have something like a 6 to 8 word phrase for the first 5 days or so, another for the next 5 days of the event, and etc until the event is over, with a new prize for every phrase. This way, if someone doesnt want to do the event they dont have to, The event lasts for a while, you promote your Premium site feature and the sites themselves, they get more hits, The event itself is enjoyable, and you get to work in the Website-In game tie in the event.
Tell me what you think of this idea.

I loved writing the haiku but the fellow players in my server (Asura) weren't interested in participating. Even the people I specifically told them about this.
I don't think its fair for some servers to be punished because we didn't fill in the quota. I did my part and as a rare-item hunter I'm extremely annoyed by how we didn't get the in-game event to obtain the items.
The rules weren't even clear. It wasn't until after the event that I found out that we could each write more than one haiku. I had expected for the poems to be readable ingame, which wasn't the case either. I didn't even know how to check the server progress until it was over.

I liked how I could receive an in-game prize for participating in an event on the web.

I like how you COULD get an in-game prize for participating, but we DIDN'T. I *hated* how this event was up to the server. Most players are small minded, they just like to bash things with a sword. You can't expect for everyone in the server (mostly filled with airheads) to be eager to drop the game for a few minutes in order to write a poem when they can't even count the syllables.
Please share your opinions and requests regarding events linked between the game and websites (not necessarily just the Linkshell Community).
I don't think you can make player rewards depend on server action. You should have mailed the prizes through the delivery box as done with the crystals through valentione's. At least not just yet, seeing everyone hates the linkshell community for its impratical non userfriendly interface. The server wide reward could have been something like free around-the-world instant warping through the event, or special decoration, but cutting out every player who wanted to participate just because their server isn't interested or didn't find out about this (because my friends didn't even know this was happening) isn't fair. Moogles should have been telling players in game about the event or giving incentives, like codes recieved at the website to pick up ingame prizes. I like the idea linking ingame events with websites, making the game react to web contests, but I hated how you handled it.
