They still could be doing SUmmerfest. Never know wink.gif

And you need somewhere between 70 and 75 Haiku for the tree to be "full." Joy :dontgetit

Don't participate in this. You're only encouraging SE to make more garbage instead of adding real content, kind of like Einherjar and their crap abjurations. If we boycott the nonsense, they'll be forced to make something worth doing or lose their customers.

SE bashing is so CoP era.

If you wanna do the event, do it, if not, don't. They're not losing customers like they used to when WoW came out, hell I can't count how many people have returned to FF over and over and over. Not everything in this game is about zomg end game.

True this event sucks, and the only person I can think of to make Haikus is Percival as he makes them when he posts on KI, and i'd rather have just had trees again, but they're doing something different and trying to get people using their community site.

SE fanboyism is so 2004.

I like Final Fantasy XI. I think this event is even more gimmicky and lackluster than usual. Note the difference. Expressing displeasure and disappointment are not sins: how else are developers supposed to know what their players enjoy and what they do not? Clearly, for instance, instanced large-scale battles are popular among players, hence the introduction of Salvage and Einherjar as well as the continued development of Besieged.

Yeah, but telling everyone not to participate in their events isn't the best way to get the point accross.

P.S. Shiva has around 56 haiku's up now.

Ok, then you can express your disappointment.

Disregarding my initial assesment of it, I now think the event is quite amusing.

Whatever. (Titan at 64 now tongue.gif)

Yeah, I wish SE would do more "interactive events".

The special events from 2003-2004 were great.

The 2004 summer event? Anyone remember that? It was fun, it was interactive, you got to explore areas you never seen before without having to risk losing experience points or so.

Events like that are fun.

Though, pretty much all events in 2005-2007 all involve standing around in cities, shouting for some player to join your party so you can talk to the moogle, etc.

Yeah, it's more like that now, and events used to be better. But that's okay because now the real amusement is people complaining about the events. biggrin.gif

Edit: (KI fucked my text position)

That was so much fun and had great "keep sake" items like Rusty Tailcutter.

Hardly. You want them to boycott an event because you dislike it, kind of retarded, you don't see me screaming to boycott kings? I hate them, I insult them, but I laugh at people who try and boycott things, it's like an online petition, you won't get anywhere.

I think it's a really interesting take at an event. Personally I like it lol.

It's definitely something new that hasn't been done before and I think it's really amusing. Also to INSTANTLY say that this is stupid because you don't like the first half of the event is just stupid. Equally if you don't like it just don't do it. Boycotting an event? Chances are that won't make a difference not to mention you probably wouldn't build much support for it. I love ffxi but a break from normal game play due to an event is always a welcome site.

I'm not sure but I think Asura has 60-70 atm possibly more. I still haven't logged in though so the event conditions may have already been met x_x

Hey check this out. There's a second moogle now on the Asura page. I wonder if that means were full (I can't see how the branch can get any fuller).

I got 5 haiku up there so far.

Any server's done yet?

Asura ftw?
