Ugh. This was a pain. Reading the description from this website makes it sound easy, but it really isn't. I lost quite a bit of xp doing this quest. Some suggestions:

1. Seriously, be really careful and don't rush. I died too many times because I rushed through things.

2. You only really need sneak and invis. Try to find a WHM your level or higher (preferably higher) to come with you. You *need* another person in eldieme to press the switch to open the door, anyway.

3. Save up some CQ and make sure you always have a warp scroll on you in case things turn sour. They're a savior. You'll most likely need on for eldieme - the room with the tombstone has a bomb in it, and you can't examine the tombstone while invis'd. If you're lucky, you can examine it while its back is turned, or while its behind the tombstone. But don't count on luck - bring a scroll.

Eldieme - this one is freaking hard. There are so many gates and doors, you'll go nuts. You have to take a very roundabout way to get to the gate that leads to the very south large room with the tombstone. You'll have to stand in front of the door, andhave your WHM freind run back to the switch to open the door for you. Once you're through the door, you're on your own. I suggest buying one or two sneak oils / prism powders in case you get a crappy sneak. Its hard to explain how to get to G-9 (the large room), but here's my best attempt:

When you enter the southernmost mound in batallia (the one behind the bone wall), you need to head NW before you can head south. Lots of the paths are blocked, so don't even think of taking an easy route to G-9. Head north through the room in J-8. From there, its really foggy. From there, head to F-9 - the room with two closed doors, and face the one heading south. Have your buddy run back to the switch in the middle area, I believe that's teh one that opens that door.

Oztroja - this one isn't so hard to get to, but scavenging in the pool is not as easy as you think. If you look at this map on this website - i can direct you to the place. When you enter, go to the exit marked "A" in the first zone. From there, you're going to head south-west through the halls. Follow them W (never east) until you reach the large cavern with the bridge. Head east, north, then west - cross the bridge. At this point, it gets difficult. Up until now, nothing should aggro at lvl 52. At the end of the bridge there is a door, with 4 levers. You need to find the right combination to open the door. Problem? Two easy prey yagudos guard them. You and a white mage should be able to kill them both. When you finally get through the gate, invis is needed (the yags start to get from decent con -> VT). Follow the hall until you reach the room with the parasites.

There are a LOT of yagudos. The yagudos aggro on SIGHT, and the parasites on SOUND. Don't go near the pool without sneak, or you will both die very quickly. Have the white mage stay in the hall you came from, looking at the room. Have him sneak/invis you and run to the pool. Stand in the dead center of the pool (you have to be dead center) and scavenge. The second you do, you lose your INVIS but NOT your sneak. At that point, use camouflage, and run back to the whm. It is possible to fail a few times, so don't get discouraged - you ARE in the right room. Once you finally get the earring, teleport-mea or something, and go get your beret.

If any of you that have partook in this quest have anything to add, please do.

I solo'd this one too with RDM sub, but let's be honest, it's IMPOSSIBLE to

solo without LUCK. Luckily, a high lvl group was in Eldieme pushing around the doors so I

could get to the Gravestone, then get back out. (After 2 deaths and deleveling might I add

)

In the Castle, I got mad mad lucky! An alliance was doing M10 (I think) and had a

high lvl monk clearing out a path. Somehow I followed along for a while, until I came upong

the room with the pond and parasites in it. Thing is, I didnt know the parasites aggro'd.

smile.gif I figured I had to scavenge inside the pond somewhere, so there I go invisible running

into the middle of the pool. Miraculously, only one leech aggro'd and I ran to a room

where some other high lvl group had just cleared out. I used 2 hour...shadowbind/sharpshot

/barrage...and this EASY PREY parasite was NOT gonna die. I call for help...and out of

nowhere...a lvl 70 DRG super jumps on top of it and proceeds to help me slaughter it.

I was discouraged cuz I scavenged the pond 3-4 times and got nothing...well...

arrowood log smile.gif...so I came here and finally FOUND THIS!!! Great info andre...thx for

posting this cuz it helped me keep trying. I was about to give up figuring I was in the

wrong place and that this AF really required high lvl help. Used your Scavenge/Camo trick

and got my hat and the **** outta there!! THX.
