What do I do with Coral Butterflies? I fished two out of Kazham a few days ago, and I checked the windurst AH, only 1 sold ever.... for a measly 1k. Are these worth anything at all?

Well, since there isn't a fishing forum...

>.< I'm at Kahzam, rather busy at leveling. I don't like windurst coz it's huge, and it'll take me a lot of time to find the fishing guild.... as I've never even been there before. Anyway, stop it with sarcasm. Yours isn't the funny type.

Bah, don't talk back to someone trying to answer your question. Thats rude. Especially when you're bouncing about trying to find the answer.

You know, selling a fish for 1k isnt that bad, it really isnt. However, perhaps you are more used to catching really high level fish. Windurst isn't that big(there have been flame wars about this), and the fishing guild is one of the closer things, especially if you take the airship over. However, you can sell fish anywhere practically, not just the guild.

Well, if you're going to offer help, at least don't insult someone while doing it.
Anyways, since there's only been one sell... EVER... I doubt it's gonna sell for 1k again.
Anyways, I was hoping to get some info like if it was for a quest or something, but I guess it's not, so thanks anyway.

I just thought that I would throw in.... The Fishing Guild is in Port Windurst. And I believe there is a little Taru mage in each area that will warp you to a different one. ^^ (I had to get enough Windurst fame to get the Aspir Scroll quest.. So, I was at the fishing guild quite a lot... zoning back and forth, using the little taru mage on top of the building next to it...) I think Windurst is pretty. ^^

Um...if you don't know where the Fishing Guild is in Windurst, your fishing skill will NEVER get above 10. So if you're too lazy to explore Windurst, you're going to be missing out on making a lot of money. Some fish later on can sell for over 5000 gil to an NPC. But your skill level MUST be high.
Maybe you should stop leveling at 30 and explore places a bit.

I was planning on doing a damn lot of stuff at lv 30, after I get paladin. Farming, smithing, questing, camping... etc, etc. But I'm still about... 3.something k till lv 30, so meh...

Personally, I think you should've explored at around level 20 after getting access to a Chocobo. But not many people do that until they're leveling another job. I guess at first, everyone just wants to go to the place where everyone else is at since it's usually pretty safe. So it's all up to you as to when you want to explore. You can explore now or you can explore later.

I looked everywhere for info about a Coral Butterfly (even Japanese sites) and all I could find was
1. It's a fish. (How helpful)
2. It sells to the fishing guild for 374 gil.
Not used in any cooking recipes I could see, but since it IS a fish, that means Mithra can eat it. So if you haven't thrown it away yet, find the nearest Mithra, and see if they're hungry
and if you do find out what it's effects are, please post 'em. I'm dying to know!

Ok, Coral Butterflies give +2 to Dex and -4 to MND. Seems that it's Mithras only, since they're the only one s that can eat them raw...
