Hm. So far I'm seeing two dates for the Test of Courage- If you check the announcement in POL itself, it says August 4th, but on FFXI's official website, it says August 1st. Obviously I'm hoping for the 1st, but I dunno which is right. Probably a pretty simple typo but some clarification would be nice.

what can i do with the goldfish set...?
what can i do with the goldfish set...?
You can get it crafted into a fighting Fish Tank aquarium for your mog house. You need a Woodworker who's at least level 20 and the following ingrediants: Bronze Ingot, Lauan Lumber, Crawler Calculus, Sieglinde Putty, Glass Sheet, Goldfish Set, Lamp Marimo, Betta and a light Crystal.
Likewise this item can be used to craft a smaller Goldfish Bowl for your mog house. For that you only need a woodworker with level 10 experiance at least and the following ingrediants: Bronze Ingot, Lauan Lumber, Crawler Calculus, Sieglinde Putty, Glass Sheet, Goldfish Set, Tiny Goldfish, Black Bubble-Eye and a light crystal.
Happy fishing!

Note, that unless they've changed it this year, the Goldfish set is Rare/Ex. This means that the level 20 or 10 crafter you have to find is you, yourself. XD
I believe these recipes were added to encourage folks to give crafting a try, since both fish tanks require very low amounts of three different skills (Woodworking, Alchemy, and Smithing). I took advantage of this event to try these crafts, and levelled all three to 10 the first year so I could craft that tank, and to 20 the next so I could craft the other. I'm a bit saddened that they didn't add a new level 30 fish tank this year.
However, if you do not have these crafts levelled, the Goldfish Set is completely useless.

I'm dissapointed that they're selling the Lord/Lady yukatas, they were given out a WHILE back, and I've always had mine ._.
SE should at most give people a chance to buy the stuff from a year back, thats it >.>
Another thing people should know,
GETTING A NEW GOLDFISH BOWL RESETS YOUR FORTUNE
Fortune from previous years carry over to the event, for example I had 53 years to spend. I got a new goldfish bowl, and my fortune was reset to 0 ><

- Team up with a partner
- You get warped to a random location (I had Bostaunieux Oubliette and Halvung so far)
- You delevel to 1 and have permanent invisible/sneak effect. (Can be cancelled manually)
- Find the goal point.
- Cancel Invisible and touch it.
- Trade each other the items you got from it.
- ???
- PROFIT! (Trade item to the moogle)
Here's a map of the Halvung goal point:
Starting points may vary.
This map REALLY sucks because of all the Bronze gates and true sight mobs. I was there twice and it wasnt possible to get both characters to the goal point without outside help.
So here's a little trick that will help you out with the Halvung map:
Should any player spawn on the second map, use the gate glyph and ask the moogle to warp you again till you are both on the first map. Otherwise it's close to impossible to do.
Items I got from the goal point:
(Hume F)
(Mithra)
AND THE OUTSTANDING REWARD:
(sells for 270k to NPC or something)
