Ya according to my PC Tower I have a SD/MMC/SM/MS-PRO drive but yet my comp doesnt recognize it. Just tried putting my New SD card and still nothing. I'm guessing I need the driver but yet my comp recognizes the USB when I plug my headset, Portable HDD, and my Gaming controler and looks like both are connected to the same thing. Soooo If anyone can help me out with this I would greatley appreciate it.

Desktop = E-Machine

Media Device = Digital Media Manager

Now, I searched and searched and there are no drivers for this. An internal media card reader plugged onto the motherboard's internal USB header is automatically recognized by XP as a removable mass storage device. And, there is almost always no driver for the USB controller as that comes with XP itself. Emachines support website no longer has drivers hosted there and no other website has them.

Have you updated XP to the latest service pack? SP1 added better compatibility for external storage devices.

Have you checked if the media drive is even plugged onto the USB header or is plugged in correctly?

Have you checked if the slots are clean and free of dust?

If none of that is the cause of the problem then most likely the drive is damaged.

Not sure if it'll fix it or not unless you can check if the drive is properly connected. An improperly connected device may not even register in Windows XP, so check for that.
