I would like to start a collection of all things unsolved in FF xi. This idea came to mind when reading a thread about the uselessness of items such as the Doll Gizmo Thread . What I would like to do is to start a data base for all things that are unsolved. There have been things that people release in patch notes through data mining that are often forgot because people do not know how to obtain them. For example SE like to give us things like parade gorget, the item was in the game for a long time before people got it, it was only a common item once SE themselves released it. So with that as an example I think we need to start collecting data on the things we know little about. It would make sense that most things that we do not know about, are related. Because you need all the part to spawn or craft some thing assuming certain things have one use.
I suggest starting with a list of items that are not currently available to play with but are in the system. That would give us a logical end point to an unsolved quest, or way of obtaining an item. I would split each unknown into one of three basic categories. Quest, item, and point(???)
If you know of any of these post them here along with the zone that you found them in. I think we could start finding patterns in them. Such as things found in ROZ areas are related. For example if we find 3 unkown things, all related to the jungle areas, it is most likely related to some thing released in the ROZ expansion.
I will start with a few unknowns and links to the items.
There is that (as far as i know) unsolved quest in Mhaura that tells your fortune, but i cannot find any information on it since no one knows how to beat it it is absent from allakhazam, somepage, and ffxiclopedia.

NM - Black Triple Stars (Rolanberry Fields). Doesn't drop anything useful at all.
NPC's - Strange Apparatus. People found secret password for 'doctor status', but there are a few Strange Apparatus that are 'inactive' and we do not know how to start them.

nice idea. but as for the necklace its;
also mentioned elsewhere for this.
(Wiki)
Notes
Wearing this item makes a Tonberry's Everyone's Grudge/Rancor absorb a current player's TP to lessen the damage he would have taken. EX.: 150TP halves the damage.

I already have a theory on the strange apparatus that are borken.

sometimes SE leaves some things open for future use, then never do anything with it, thats my guess on the broken strange apparatus.
as for that NM
sounds to me the NM is there solely for the fun of it. just a way to make somebody smile will otaku happiness. but maybe its drop rate is just insanely low, who knows.
as for that NM
Historical Background
These NMs are named for the Black Tri-Stars, a famous trio of enemy Mobile Suit pilots from the 1979 animated TV series Mobile Suit Gundam, considered by many over time to be a heavy influence on Japanese culture (akin to Star Trek or Star Wars in the US; perhaps even moreso).
Note that, in this TV series, these three pilots were known for using their famous "Jet Stream Attack;" one of the more dangerous and well known Bat Triplet attacks is called "Jet Stream."

Care to post it?
Well, it's not much but when I took a closer look at the "inactive" ones I noticed they seem to follow a pattern from KRT, to Rang. Pass, to Fei'Yin.
If you recall the Zilart Eald'Narche's brother mentioned that they were awakened from their 1000 year slumber when Raogrimm fell in that trench or w/e it that caused some kind of reaction. My theory is that when that reaction occured, it caused some kinda power surge that went through all 3 of the apparatuses and ruined them.
Another theory I have is that the Strange Apparatuses were used as "controls" when Tu'Lia was being created. And there could have been some type of power surge in Fei'Yin (Where it was created) that ruined those 3 to.

considering u can see the dmg done outside jeuno where the ground was taken away, that sounds very reasonable, and something SE would do, to show the effects that had taken place.
before i got Sky, and before i even knew about it, i noticed the torn away ground in batlila downs, qufim, and the other i wont bother trying to spell <.<;
i figured it was some sort of explosion from qufim, then said it couldnt be, cuz the dmg is also done to qufim itself.

My theory for the ground being the way it was is that Al'Taieu used to stand where Jeuno is now.

i doubt that because the curve of the torn ground always stops just above jeuno, even when u look at the map, jeuno is south of the "circle" and qufim is in the middle, rather than north of it. also the position of tulia is placed in that circle as well. the shape of qufim is that of a cresent moon, so maybe qufim and tulia were connected, and it ripped up from qufim, but the torn ground elsewhere is maybe where it once fell to the ground long ago, since it raises up during RotZ. (if u look at the trees, they are pushed back, as if an explosion, and dont align with jeuno to say the source of the explosion was jeuno, but north of it.)

Tu'Lia was never part of the world. It's a man-made continet.

It may have been made on the ground and took out most of the region when it was activated.
those are for a quest.
Only 2 of them are, the rest are junk.

Cactuar Needles have no use currently.
The Doll Gizmo should be used to create a special attachment for Automatons. They could make it a quest and perhaps add a Rare/EX tag to the gizmos and make the quest for a specific level of PUP. Just a thought.
Drooling Daisy and Black Triple Stars should be given some sort of grip or that since neither has any real point anyway.

How about if taking all gear off before entering a Maat fight makes a difference, I don't think that one has been proven yet.

They changed AH a while ago so that COR cards are with the cardian cards. Either they know something we don't know or they're another thing SE is never doing anything with.

If you look at the painting of Tu'lia in (I think) the Temple of Uggly, there would seem to be alot of blue power crap coming from Tu'lia to the ground. Seeing as Delfkutts is right below Tu'lia (I'd imagen any way), it would be safe to say the blue crap tore the ground apart and Delfkutts was in the eye of the storm, thus safe?
My theory of broken wording and plot holes anyway...

You can go on a rather long unnamed multiple-cutscene thing with Mathilde in Selbina. It's kind of about the RoZ plot (her son is named Aldo, for instance), but it's unnamed and unrequired for anything. I always wondered if there was more to it than what I saw. I should maybe go back and check again now that I've finished RoZ. >.>
