Also Nidhogg scales cannot be used in Dragon Mail recipes. Says something like "This combination of items cannot be used in synthesis. I've tried several times using the recipe's posted on ffxiclopedia, and to no avail. They're worthless.

Hmmm, about sky and delkfutt's, I had assumed Delkfutt's was built to power sky and to keep it airborne. I might be wrong though :dozingoff.

Slight correction, you don't actually use the elevator. The wedding master just warps you up from near the lighthouse.

Good to see the monorail pop up again on KI. Happens about once every year or so I think. Would have been neat if SE had implemented it. I was hunting Ose the other night, and decided to kill Narasimha. Where Narasimha pops, there is a tunnel leading back to a ledge, above which is flat ground and another tunnel. There's no way to get up onto that ledge, and there is only one entrance into Labyrinth of Onzozo, as well as one exit.
Also, what's on top of Gausebit Mountains in Sauromugue Champaign? I was wondering if there was a program allowing for bird's eye views of zones in this game, so one could see above the cliffs in Qufim or above the island at the center of the lake in Jugner Forest.

That 'monorail' zone is used in the player selection menu last I checked, just you're in a portion of the zone where none of that is visible.
Regarding the massive crater around the Qufim area, I have a feeling that comet in WoG had something to do with it.

its not from AV.
also the 1 pic http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t80/Mortysigs/4-1.jpg was shown before on other threads, but it was more "complete" ur version is missing the ground. it was shown in a way u could run around with a fake character, and apeared to be made for some sort of fight. but nothing rly there.
as for

thats actually quite possible when i think about it. since it does look like an impact, rather than anything else.

Sorry, can someone give me a screenshot or a map visual to let me know what you mean by this crater at Qufim? I'm presently redownloading the game 17344 files lol, but keep seeing this thing about the crater reoccuring so wanted to know. Plus, I never really paid attention to this.

Just go to www.ffxi-atlas.com and u can see on their map what everyone is talking about. Remember how the NE landscape in Batallia Downs looked like, by the water with the sheer'd off mountain terrian, blackened and silver specked most likely from over heated materials like sand turning into glass. Same with glacier and sauromugue...also the small impact craters in sauromugue. My guess is its either 'sea' going poof, or the comet has something to do with it. Those craters could be smaller fragments that had broken off when the comet entered the atmosphere...large enough to not be burnt up on the way down. Or those craters could just be damage from the yags taking that area over during the crystal war...taters casting meteor like the very first ffxi cs anyone?

I like that, because I've always stared at those craters and wondered..what in the hell caused them to be there. I know what you mean now, as for the tree's leaning over, the side of the cliffs that look like they've been superheated. Well, that just has me all sorts of curious now too. lol
Looking at it now, and thinking on that picture someone showed of Tu'Lia when it was apparently still attached to Ro'Maeve before going into the sky, makes me think that whatever was there--whatever should be there when we go back--was one big ass piece of land that got obliterated. And I have to somewhat wonder, what if, this is supposed to be following a sort of Spirits Within'ish, or Chrono Trigger style plot, that someone/something rode that comet down to our planet. Whatever it was, has awaken now in our time, driving itself back up into the surface world (as Lavos had) and our present world faces mortal peril. The creature is, in our time, far too powerful to take out as it is for whatever reason so we're sent to the past to intercept it when it first arrives, and take it out then.
I can see that being the team's explaination for 'what you do in the past will have positive effects on the future'; cause naturally, they arent going to do something that can alter the entire face of the game just by you, yourself can do. But similiar to CoP how Bahamut was prepared to annihiliate all mankind on the planet, you could directly effect that outcome and it did effect your future (and everyone else's).
Now, I'm just throwing this out there.. unsolved information yes, but I'm derailing it a moment for speculation purposes since its here infront of me. I dont think that comet hits the island during the Great War era, honestly because, I think Qufim was already in that state before the war started. My say is, that comet hit the Qufim Island(s) longer before that, whatever was in that comet (Very powerful dark entity, specifically speaking, what made the Shadowlord. I'm not convinced its Odin, cause SL tells you that something deep beneath the earth gave him the power he wanted for revenge, to exact his anger. Yes, it sounds like Odin's pact to Luzaf now too I know). So we arrive at the Great War era, to find that the change to the Island had already taken place, we need to go further still--which would lock out interaction with any other part of the world map except Qufim (xxx amount of years prior to that, before there was a Jeuno fishing town to connect to the island at all) to confront whatever it is, at time of its arrival. Cant stop the comet from hitting but can stop whatever it is from burying itself into the planet and biding its time. 'course, I could be wrong and the comet hits during the great war, no one's mentioned it yet cause focus was on the war and not the comet, all it did was take out most of an island anyways and after the war no one paid it any heed. ('course, closer to the time of expansion release, if the comet did hit during the war there'll be quests and such pretaining to it where people want to talk about it).
Soo, yeah. We go back to fight something that rode its way to our planet and is now bent on killing us, in our time? Well why the hell not, SE loves to reuse their own themes and this would fit right in there with something between Spirits Within and FF7 *L*

@Akujin Maybe this comet is the thing that brought the magicite into Vana 'diel in the first place.
Nice info guys, i will add it all to the main list later tonight or tomorrow. It seems we will need new sections i will add a "Story" section for the elements such as the quifim crater and maybe move the broken strange apparatus in to the story section. So we can leave the Point(???) for the actual ??? points that have no know use. Also Io may add a latent section just for completion's sake.
And also if you have things you want added could you just provide the URL not linked just so i can copy and create the list easier.
