(further thoughtful murmurings)

Although, it would be rather cool if the FFXI team did decide to put on a massive battle, promoted it for weeks prior so that people could make sure they had time off (like on a Saturday or something), where a fateful battle is waged in Qufim Island (crystal war era) pre-comet blasting it up. If the players succeeded in whatever the task was, the comet is adverted, Qufim Island is saved from its fate--the present state of FFXI is also changed by that, Qufim Island isnt destroyed, the effects of the explosion dont show up around the other parts of the map.

If the players lose, the comet hits (everyone dies as a result..lol and are ejected back to their original time, Dynamis style) and everyone can try again, as one force, like a month later.

That'd be..rather cool. Laggy as all bloody hell, probably. Unless they did infact do the battle in a very, very large zone like, the entire landmass of Qufim Island itself was the beseiged warzone, so hundreds of people arent all focused in one concentrated area. It reminds me of Everquest and that one dragon, The Sleeper or something. It was a game-wide event, once it was dead, it was dead forever. But it took people like over a week to kill it. (I recall the GM's pulled the dragon out just before its death cause it wasnt ever supposed toa ctually be killed, EQ players through such a shitfest they finally said alright, put it in, they brought it down and killed it finally.) though as far as I know that didnt have any effect on the game whatsoever, it was just more of something for the entire community to do.

That'd be cool, a community wide event for each server to participate in.

This may sound kinda dumb but for anyone that has done the San d'Oria missions I'd like to know the real origins of the lightbringer, about how it got it's power and such.

Akujin's been reading the textdata for The Last Stand.

Along with the strange melted-black cliffs in Qufim, Batallia, Beaucedine, Sauromugue and the blown-over trees in those zones, there's additional melting on the northwest mountain of Ro'Maeve which look to be cut out by an energy beam of some sort.

And the more interesting mystery - the desynthesis results of the Ceremonial Dagger. Lightning Crystal + Ceremonial Dagger + (unknown skill requirement) = (unknown result.) I hope someone would be able to answer this question at least for NQ soon. You can check that it can be desynthed, but it just tells you that you don't have a high enough skill to make the synth if you don't have the requirements.

I can give a little more information about those two orc NM's. I've seen Bloody Vrukwuk up after a server maintenance, he was following the Warchief around like a pet. He dropped nothing worthwhile. Since we're going to have a big update and server maintenance coming soon, it's your chance to get a glimpse of him or his compatriot.

Akujin's typist is just a really deep thinker. I've been involved with online html based RP games for well over 9 years, so I tend to get carried away with ideas sometimes. lol

Okay, I found a conquest map (Altanaview FTW!) but I have another question reguarding Al'Taieu

Does anyone remember if they mentioned EXACTLY where Al'Taieu was before it was destoryed? I'm trying to find the whereabouts of the 5th mother crystal to see if it matches my theory.

In regards to the comet thing, you can see a huge comet in the sky in a lot of parts of the WotG trailer. It appears to be the same comet and looks to be travelling on a direct course for Jeuno/Qufim. I think SE may pull out a FFVII-esque plotline where the beastmen (or maybe the Shadowlord himself) summons a Meteor to destroy the backbone-nation of the Alliance: Jeuno. Maybe somehow the people of that time managed to divert its course just enough to send it to where the crater is now. Or maybe SL just has low acc tongue.gif

Yeah he does sort of remind me of a DRK. They are not known to hit things, especially with ranged attacks.

yeah..about those black cliffs..

spoiler below if you haven't done zilart, highlight to read.
[white]10,000 years ago the kuluu attacked Fei'Yin to stop the zilart. the attack on Fei'Yin overloaded the Delkfutt's Tower causing a massive explosion so huge it was world wide. the black cliffs are a result of that explosion.[/white]

(Possibly a spoiler but nothing too serious!)

That 'comet' is actually the remenants of a celestial storm, occuring just before the start of the Crystal era. It's believed to be the work of the Goddess, but is actually a phenomina caused in the aftermath of 'Ragnarok,' or a battle between gods.

Hmm, good call, I remember that lil taru mage speaking of something's 'trajectory', I hadnt really thought of linking the two. I need to return to Jeuno and rewatch that CS again, pay closer attention to it.

Lufiase meadows/Tavnazia route of the past?

Anyone ever GO here, to G-6 on the map?

It leads to a caved in tunnel.... pointing north.....

and if you look... Tavnazia, the city itself is north of there.....

WotG maybe lets us access this?

Just my thought?
anyone else's thoughts?

are you sure of this? The last Ragnarok took place like thousands of years ago.. for it to remain in the sky for so long would seem weird, and for no one to ever make mention of it.. also, if it were still such a big ball of energy back 20 years ago, it wouldnt explain why it isnt around now..

I'd think the comet has nothing to do with the celestial storm... and might be something else altogether

http://killingifrit.com/forums.php?m=posts&p=3176916#3176916 Here's the link to my original post about this Jeuno/Qufim crater idea. Towards the end Octoberasian brings it all together, I think.

I'd hate to burst your bubble on this Venlo but this information is incorrect. Nidhogg Scales do not make HQ Dragon Mail. I had attempted to Synth this a long time ago with the 4 Nidhogg Scales I had and no combination of any sort worked with these Scales.

They are a worthless item that has really no use whatsoever.

Item: Cardian Cards- Although 2 are used for a quest the rest have no known use. Released with main game.

doesnt holding one of these cards prevent specific cardian types from agroing you? for example. holding 2 of clubs stops the 'Two of Clubs' Cardian from agroing you. Tho i may be wrong. ive not verified this myself.

I have some info on the luck runes.

A friend of mine was running through ... Teleport-mea.. area.. and happened to stop at the luck rune there.
when she clicked on it she got a meesage
"Todays your lucky day!"
"Obtained: Dark Cluster"

she couldnt specify he day since it had happened to her a LONG time ago. my guess is depending on your name, etc. much like
passwords to the apparatus's, you might be able to get stuff from them on a certain day/hour?

Aren't the luck runes just part of the Mhaura Fortune quest or whatever it's called? I did it along time ago and I obtained an ice crystal lol. I believe the fortune teller gives you A) a direction and cool.gif an element and if you go to the right luck rune (hinted to by the direction she gives you) on the day of the matching element you obtain either a crystal or cluster. I think you can then do another quest with someone who has also done the luck rune one using the titles you are both asked to find to obtain a type of HQ food or something. I'm not positive since it was a long time ago and I kind of stumbled into it by mistake.
