How to read the Toteboard.

I know a lot of people are having issues reading the toteboard. So I'm making a short guide to understand it. Ask any questions you like, and I'll do what I can to answer. Also correct me anywhere I'm wrong.

1: This tells you what race you're betting on. In this example it's Circuit 3, Race No. 2. There's 4 Circuits, and then the race number is most likely that for this conquest period.

Why is this important? You might be betting on more than one race at a time. This will help you keep your bets organized so you can safely toss losing tickets while retaining winning ones. If you lose you might as well toss it immediately. Also, since you have 1 week to claim your winning bets, it's handy incase you log off, you can remember which races you bet on.

2: Races are held about every 15 minutes, with betting opening about 30 minutes before the race. This means there's about 2 active races you can bet on at a time. Betting closes about 5 minutes before a race starts.

3: This is what everyone has an issue understanding. It's really very simple. The Horizontal colored row is Chocobo Number 1. The Vertical row is Chocobo number 2. The order in which these 2 chocobos come in does not matter as long as they are the top 2. This is why the columns get continuously shorter and there is no 8th. It would get redundant, not to mention having to predict the order so precisely would drastically lower anyone's chances of victory.

4: This is how much each Quill on this pair will get you if you win. It starts at 50,000 and for every bet placed, the winning payout drops. So the amount they tell you you will win if you win is inaccurate when you first bet. You watch the Toteboard to see how much your bet is going to net you. The more favored a pair is, the more it's quil payout drops. Meanwhile, the less a pair is favored to win, the greater it's pay out would be.

I encourage everyone to play and bet RESPONSIBLY. It is your fault if you blow all your money at the races. Please have fun, and know when to stop.
