unless you can get them to come out to help alot, or you get very lucky on drops its gonna take more than 1 kill to get what you want.

The kotes are a pain in the ass to get. My LS when we were camping held his pop time to the same time every day for about ~35 days or so till another LS caught on. I was to get the first pair of kotes it took me 10 tries to get them.

If your worried about getting enough people to help, we had to do it a few days with a barebones party. ( Rdm x2 (1x kiter), Nin, Rng(me)). I have crimson legs so that helped. Though there is a lil trick of fighting him near the rocks and his pathing is screwed up. When the NIN would get charmed I was next in the hate line and would start kiting X + the nin around the rock. You can do this for hours on end with movement speed+. It will take about 15~20 minutes to kill him this way. For every 2 bullets it would take off 1% I would geuss at around 15000~20000 HP. Also mnk hundred fists owns him and 2x mnk 2hr can really pwn him fast.

yeah i went 0/17 straight doing a mix of setups on a few days just a whm curing me, i would tank on mnk and a thf or rdm depending on the day would kite both smn and whm would kite xolotl while i was asleep from being charmed... a good setup is you tank on mnk and have a whm cure you, have 2 people kiting skeletons and have 1 tank (can be any dd/nin) on stand by and as soon as you get charmed, have them rush in to tank when whm sleeps you. after the first 17 days i almost gave up till my LS leader at the time logged in out of no where and was like lets go help kill and bam it dropped... never saw harpe the whole time.

And he dropped!

I suggest you tank xototl as mnk/nin and get an rdm/drk to support you. Have someone with +movement speed to kite both skeles. 2 other people shouldn't be hard to get.

Smallest team we beat him with was me (75THF/NIN), 75COR/NIN, 3x BST/WHM. The 75COR works great for removing Ice Spikes which slows the pets down some and it can help enhance the pets. Also, Light Shot works on any unwanted skeleton pets that he resummons or if they return. THF/NIN kites the WAR type skeleton pet. I found the best way to do this was to use Tatami (intimidate kicked in quite a few times) and go use worms as HP tanks if you begin to run into trouble. 1 of the 3 BSTs kites the BLM pet.

Oh, I should also mention that we usually made the long pull from his pop spot down to the ??? for Rostrum Pumps NM since there are plenty of Antlion pets there for the BSTs to work with and lots of room to kite.

The other times I've fought him, if there were plenty of kiters, I'd use Aura Steal to remove his Ice Spikes (so the COR could use Light Shot to "stun" any bad spells) and then also put Feint onto him for an Acid Bolt to land well and if I ever pulled too much hate, I just used Hide to end it (it does work on him).

Finally, if you are a THF, follow the BST that's making the pull. This only happened once, but sneak was dropping and as he went to recast, he didn't realize air weather just popped. Needless to say it wasn't good for him. The THF should be told that the BST needs to recast so that if, IF, an elemental or, in the case of fog weather, a bomb type is in the path of the pull, the THF can grab them, and use Hide to drop them.
