I think making dancer a female only job is a good move on SE's part. Not only is it intresting and never been seen before but all the male players that think dancer is a cool job and want to play it have to make a new character and start all over, making them stay with playonline even longer. Its about money too people, not just about the fucking game. IF dancer is a female only job, then you know they will come out with a sweet ass male only job thats going to make the female players want to play it.

i was thinking the exact same thing. if im not mistaken i believe SE said they would relese 3 new jobs with the expansion and have announced dancer to be the first official one. now many would agree that time mage/green mage (whichever you prefer) is going to be the 2nd becuase it makes the most sense with the factor of time travel in the expansions story line (kinda like how blu's were huge to the ToAu story). as for the 3rd nothing concrete has been said so who knows it may be a male only job to balance out the fact the females get a gender only job. maybe us guys will get access to a new highly anticipated tank job that is male only. only a theory but it COULD happen, unlikely yes, but possible.

That logic still doesn't make sense NinjaGorge, because SE will always allow you to switch jobs, its not like once you go a job you can't go back, I am just saying that you can't say its not possible that they make a job gender specific.

Heres why: everyone said it has been impossible other things happen, and SE has done it, like the new WS you witnessed in that trailor

I am not saying that I don't think both races should be able to play the job, I hope they can, but I'm just saying you can't count out the fact that SE could make it gender specific.

In CS there are. The Last Dragoon in the DRG AF quests is in full AF.

And, all we've seen of Dancer are clearly battles and CSs. No NPCs.

This topic has gotten to the point of being retarded. There's males using a Dance Animation in the video. Dancer is not Female only. You all are failing to use cognative thinking, and simple logic to put 2 and 2 together. Instead you choose to ignore any evidence contrary to your current way of thinking and then get all upset over nothing. It's like you're incappable of thinking for yourselves. You refuse to believe that there will be Male Dancers, despite evidence of it in the video, until SE comes right out and says it. You all should really be ashamed.

Ninjagorge is right. SE WILL NOT make a job that's gender or race specific. Because If you're the wrong race or gender, and you want to do that job, you're shit out of luck. And that's gonna piss people off. Not a good move finacially. Cause now people have to spend another dollar they weren't planning to spend and get through a bunch of shit like ZMs and CoP they've already done.

And just cause they're releasing multiple jobs doesn't mean they can do the same thing. That's redundency. This is an online game. In an offline game it's acceptable to have sex-specific jobs. In an offline one where you have the option to change jobs, but not sex or gender it is not acceptable. Somethings SE says aren't possible and then they do it because they get to thinking about it, and then it seems like a good idea. But they will NOT deny players an equal oppertunity to jobs. That is unfair and they will not do it. I'd be pissed if I put all sorts of time into my character, and suddenly they told me that the next Endgame area didn't allow humes. I think you'd be pretty mad if there was something you were completely denied access to because of a decision you made 4 years ago. Sex and Race specific jobs are out of the question for the same reaons Chocobos can't die.

SE, the company that doesn't allow "same sex" (in game race, that is. i.e. Mithra/Mithra) marriages or their GMs to play an opposite sex while logged in, makes it hard for me to believe they'll be throwing skirts on the male Elvaan, Humes, Tarus, and Galkas of Vana'Diel. But honestly, there's way too much analysis being put into this.

It's fun to speculate and bring up valid points, but people need to get over themselves, and stop talking like the universe revolves around their will.

No. I just happen to be capable of logic than a lot of people appear to be. This whole argument SHOULD have stopped with the video and the male dancer animation. I speak with such certainty because my sense of reality and what SE has done in the past tells me it's not going to happen. But people refuse to look at the overwhelming evidence pointing towards the correct answer and still freak out.

Also, the AF is most likely finished. The only reason the the original 12 + DRG were never previewed in AF is because AF didn't come out until ROZ. If you notice, after that, all jobs have been previewed in AF. BLU 1st appeared in full AF. COR 1st appeared in full AF. PUP was 1st revealed at the Fan Fest in Full AF. However there is no guarantee the designs on all races are released.

Now. Lets take a look at proving the AF will look different on males (since everyone is so damn homophobic).

Varizen I agree with you that both genders will be able to be dancer, but its the AF will not just undergo a minor change like the pants becoming shorts. The entire AF is going to need to be redesigned.

I'm going to get on Photoshop and Model Viewer and attempt at Male Dancer AF. Or as close as past sprites have shown to be.

The Body AF piece is going to be red, while the legs are going to be pants, green sash with it. Not So keen on the hat tho, could just not be a hat.
