No doubt Dancer will have the highest combat skill with dagger. that however doesn't mean Dancer will end up using daggers.

Think about CORs that mainly use guns at lower level, and melee with Joyeuse at higher level.

Think about BRDs that equip staves all the time.

There are many factors involved. Dagger also has very sucky WS until Dancing Edge. Suppose Dancer will be a decent DD and that he will be able to use swords althought at lower skill, he will still use swords for Fast Blade and Vorpal Blade (if sub WAR), then probably switch to /NIN and main hand a dagger when he gets to use evisceration.

God even as THF main i never touched a dagger untill Viper Bite, and that WS without the bonus of SA (which only happens when you are THF main) still sucks

I imagine they will use h2h for some odd rrason till a decent ws for dagger I.e VB or DE

why dagger jus b/c they have paper armor? i wanna hope on staffs and swords, i dont know if it was just a rumor but i hope we may get new WS as well, maybe job specific not jus getting it and not being able to use it, in stead you get something else.

but that jus me daggers are a lil lame considering, Staff user's would be nice, ( and really useing them not jus Haveing them)

Keep in mind each weapon type is getting new WS's (or at least Gaxe + sword. but why only those 2?)

I completely agree with you here. Just because the job was using it in the trailer doesn't mean they'll be good enough to use them in exp or endgame stuff. I don't think they wanted to show off what the job could do yet so in the trailer first they show a dancer in the tavern, then they just show a bunch of dancers using WSs, and the end of a dance, but they cut off before you can see anything.


To Kleiner the problem with staves is that they suck as a weapon. Most of the WSs completely suck until retribution. Maybe if they had A+ staves, and some kind of trait that either decreased the delay like a "martial arts" for staves or something. H2h imo makes about as much sense as puppetmaster using h2h. They're both entertainers and dancers need to be very flexible. They could learn like maybe martial arts I, and maybe kick attacks at like 65 or something. I'd be a little irritated if their main weapon was h2h tho ;p just saying.

Dancer can use Evisceration. I'm going to assume myself that there will be many new daggers that can enhance Dance Skill. I'm also going to assume they use sword since a traditional Dance is Sword Dance.

Yep, except for primate/kinkobo which seems to be made specifically for those jobs that can actually use it as a damaging weapon. A limited few 'though.
