Afraid to test this at the moment, but theoretically speaking...

Lushang rod repair synth caps at lvl 80.
Lushang rod cannot be lost during normal synthesis unless cancelled by zoning (boat or ferry) while mid synth. (reportedly)
Skillup is possible (and somehwat more common) on failed synths.

Knowing the above, wouldnt it be possible to "powerlevel" ww skill up to lvl 80 using only a broken lu rod and however many light crystals you can get your hands on? Granted light crystals/clusters arent the easiest to farm, or the cheapest to buy, and this method would not yield any income while skilling whatsoever, but does this idea hold any merit?

I have not tested this, and am not a woodworker. I simply figured that is you cant lose the item, and it caps at lvl 80 ... why not?

If you are more than 15 levels below the skill cap of a synth, you can't synth it. Also, you can't receive a skill up on a break if you are more than 5 levels below a skill cap. You can use this as a way to get cheap skill ups, and I've known many woodworkers who have if they're also fishermen, but you'd need to break 75 with support or gear to make skill ups possible.

I did that from like 70 to 80 about 2½ years ago... very common knowledge, but its not something you can do from 0 if thats what your asking. 65ish and above you can begin
