Idk if any of you are interested but we have radio up now playing music from most the Square games. Anyone is welcome to use it, I made it for the linkshell cause some of us are tired of the game music after 4 years. As black mage I do not even get to hear the battle music anyways hehe. <img src="http://killingifrit.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Any way enjoy the memories, we do from the old games. Btw there is automated way to request songs.

Anyone have a favorite sound track? Personally I like Final Fantasy IX ftw. Please leave me a note if there is any music you would like to hear, I am always on the look out for more square or other gamer music.

Some of the recent additions to the station are Yoko Shimooura's "drammatica", Blackmages III "Darkness & Starlight" and even the new soundtrack to "Chocobo Dungeon" being released in NA next month. The WoTG soundtrack if finally coming out on Wednesday and should be up on the station this weekend.

Thanks for listening, you can stream the station in the back round of the game using from Shoutcast or on ur PSP and even the IPod. I was looking at the map of listeners for October and its hard to believe but I have about 100 people from as far as Russia that listen in. I am not sure they play FFXI over that but they enjoy the game music which is kinda cool.

Though the station has now grown with listeners around the world, even as far away as Russia and I do not think they play FFXI, we still remember our roots here on Sylph. Thank you all the have made the station what it is today. There are several changes to the website with a new menu and also a database of the composers for the soundtracks. We are working on a better system now for making request to the radio and how our playlist of over 6000 tracks is displayed. If you have any suggestions, comments or just see something that not correct please drop us a note anytime.

Btw we need some new threads here in the Sylph Section ! I have had a few people join our ls from Killing Ifrit but there most be something that is going on around the server, start a thread today and lets hear it !

Radio News cool.gif

New video at our site about FFXIV with an interview of Nobuaki Komoto discussing 11 and 14 with examples of the differences and what has been learned. Still no new information about the music on the game except that Nobou Uematsu will be working closely with that.

------------------------------------------

Last year we where treated to the release of this "Somnus" on the Drammatica CD by Yoko Shimomura. Now enjoy the music video from FFXIII with clips from the new game.

QUOTE
... Yoko Shimomur will join Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura's development team once again to score Final Fantasy Versus XIII, a wholly independent game in the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation featuring Advent Children-influenced action scenes, gratuitous violence, and a tragic Shakespearian story.

------------------------------------------

Still at the top of our most requested songs is theme from Crisis Core "Why".

QUOTE
Released in conjunction with Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII, this vocal single showcased the featured vocal theme "Why" from the game. It was a collaborative effort by Ayaka and Yoshihiko Nishio, and arranged by L.O.E.

------------------------------------------

We are helping to host the Final Fantasy Marathon setup by the Speedgamers starting on
Friday, July 17, 2009 at 6:00pm Eastern. They will be broadcasting on our ustream.tv as a cohost or at their sites front page. Stop in and enjoy the whole series as they play through all weekend.

TheSpeedGamers do gaming marathons to raise money for various charities. In total they have raised $22,000 dollars. TheSpeedGamers are based in the DFW area of Texas, but have members from around the world.

[Crimson]Happy Fourth of July !![/Crimson]

We are broadcasting from Sylph today for the USA holidays on the tv.finalfantasyradio.com and of course the music is still 24/7. Like to shout to a number of listeners who bought the game and came to see Vana'diel on Sylph welcome to FFXI. Thanks to Shaz on Fenrir and Drakula that has joined the ranks on Sylph from Diabolos. We never had intended to make a linkshell of listeners but it now seems a few of the music fans are coming over to enjoy the game and the radio on the server the radio started at and got its name. smile.gif

/cheers !!

We have the new tracks from the demo up on the playlist for request if you have not heard them.

More of FFXIV notes from E3 ....

QUOTE
Sony let the cat out of the bag on Square Enix’s new MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV. The press sheet released alongside the announcement later that day, listed Nobuo Uematsu as the composer.

However, many people we spoke to on the show floor were skeptical. “Oh, he probably just wrote the theme song, or a small portion of the soundtrack.” Nope, nope, nope! For the first time since Final Fantasy IX (which came out nearly a decade ago), Uematsu is writing the entire score of a Final Fantasy.

This information was not revealed at Wednesday’s press conference (June 3rd, noon PST). The information came from a reliable source at Square Enix. In a complete coincidence, Mike Tidwell (of RPGamer) and I met up with a member of the FFXI team (now on the FFXIV team), and we picked his brain for information. We asked about the Uematsu listing on the press release. Apparently, Uematsu was offered the opportunity to score the Final Fantasy XIV soundtrack, and he happily agreed to write the full score. No, Uematsu is not back under Square Enix: he’s still an independent artist under his own “SMILEPLEASE” company. And there’s no guarantee that other composers won’t contribute additional music. But at this point, Uematsu is the sole composer, and the plan is for him to score the entirety of Final Fantasy XIV, at least for time of release (as for expansions, that’s too far in the future for anyone to predict).

The only music you can hear from the game presently can be found on the game’s official site, as well as the trailer. We look forward to hearing more Uematsu music as he makes his glorious return to the series that he helped to define so many years ago.

Well I finally finished the update for the new request system. If you want to search for music to be played on the radio you can now do it by track, artist or title. There is another part to this system that will go up later in the week that will allow you to make dedications to people with the request. I made the changes in two parts since we are running over 100 listeners all the time now and this new system is live to the server database. The player page will change to this way also and it will allow you to look at track information for the all the music anytime.
