[style=2][orange]Dyire's Harvest Festival's Event Guide[/orange][/style]
Thursday, October 18, 2007 to Thursday, November 1, 2007

Sweets in bazaars at super marked up prices! Moogle stands filled with goods that you didn't get last festival! Fireworks and shouts!
The Harvest Festival is back, with its well known beastmen costumes and npcs.
    Windurst Woods
    Windurst Water
    Southern San d'Oria
    Northern San d'Oria
    Bastok Mines
    Bastok Markets

[style=3]How to get the Beastman costume, Pumpkin hats and Trick/Treat staffs[/style]
To get one of these items, you'll need to have an active Beastman costume. To obtain one, trade sweets to any costumed NPC. You can only get one costume per type of sweets per Vana day and they do expire after a while, so manage your time well! The items are obtained randomly when trading sweets to the npcs and you can also only get one type of item per type of sweets per Vana day.
    Orc
    Shade
    Hound
    Quadav
    Yagudo
    Skeleton
    Ghost
    Goblin
    ...[list]
    Pumpkin Head
    Pumpkin Head II
    Horror Head
    Horror Head II
    Treat Staff
    Treat Staff II
    Trick Staff
    Trick Staff II

[style=3]How to get the Witch/Coven Hats (Wake of the Lilies)[/style]
To start this event, talk to one of the following npcs...
Northern Windurst Waters (F-5) - Roger
    Northern San d'Oria (D-8) - Gertrude
    Bastok Markets (G-8) - Brian
They will activate the mini-quest and tell you who to follow. Once they tell you the spirit that you will join in procession with, grab a costume and look for it.
Guwanana roams around Southern Windurst Waters
Bikho Ronpotteh roams around Northern Windurst Waters
Maryse and Poseaulloie roams around Northern San d'Oria
Selma and Pretty Heartroams roams around Bastok Markets

Once you spot your spirit, get behind them and start stalking them. Make sure you avoid their gaze when they randomly stop to turn because if they see you, you'll lose your costume and will have to find another. During the procession, you'll be informed as to how much longer you need to stay before you can get your prize.
    You've joined the procession.
You can't stop now. You've just started!
    You've only just begun.
There's still a long way to go.
Hope you didn't make any other plans, because you're not even close to being finished.
    Almost halfway...
It's still a little too early go back back.
Leave the procession now and someone might be peeved.
    Just a little longer...
    You're almost done!
Alright! It's time to collect your reward!
Don't worry if you lose your costume half way, your progress will be automatically saved as long as you don't reset the mini-quest.
Return to your npc once you have completed stalking your specified npc and you'll be rewarded with a Witch Hat on your first completion, a Coven Hat on your second completion, and 10 papillions for any runs afterwards.

[style=3]How to get the Lantern Furnishings[/style]
Moogle stands are located at
    Windurst Waters (G-10)
    Northern San d'Oria (D-8)
    Port Bastok (L-8)

Normally they only sell Jack-o-Lanterns but if you equip a Witch Hat or a Coven Hat, you get access to the furnishings as well! (Only 1 is available with wearing the Witch Hat and all three are available when wearing the Coven Hat.)
    Jack-o-Lantern - 1,000g
    Mandra Lantern - 10,000g
    Pumpkin Lantern - 10,000g
    Bomb Lantern - 10,000g

[style=3]How to get the Pitchforks[/style]
Too lazy too copy pasta from last year's guide atm, ill do it a later after my tests this week tongue.gif

Feel free to reply with any findings/updates/comments about the event/whatevarz. I'm a little disapointed that there aren't any new items (as far as we know) but I'm still interested as to what the new beastmen costumes are

Return to your npc once you have completed stalking your specified npc and you'll be rewarded with a shiny 10 PAPILLIONS!!!! Yes, thats right! Fireworks! Not a fancy new item! (I'm a little disappointed, to say the least)

Boooo. Move along, folks. Nothing to see here.

But SE said "This year's festival has all the makings of a truly memorable event; everyone's favorite bomb decorations will adorn the streets of the three nations, specialty shops will deal in seasonal sundries, and both classic and all-new costumes will debut!"

I have all of the items from the past events so I can't get anything new :cry

It is always fun to run around town and put the costumes on anyhow. Maybe it will be something added, they seem to always sneak stuff in after the event starts smile.gif

If they do like typical, then what we have now is just the teaser event, probably about 3-4 days from now they'll start the next portion of the event, where we can get those shades.. at least hopefully.

sad.gif New item are the horror masks. How do we get them? Is there some trick to getting the hq staves and pitchfork? So far, every site I go to repeats the same noninformation, so I'm hoping someone here has the answers.

The HQ staves/Head Gear, you basically need to wear its NQ version and then spam trade a costumed NPC with sweets till it gives you what you want. If you have any of the Staves from previous halloween event, make sure to get those out and keep them in your inventory till after you get everything you want.

There is also rumor that you need to be completely naked only wearing the NQ armor.

When i did this, i was in Windurst Waters, at the Rarab Tail Hostelry, there is a NPC in there that sells Acorn Cookies and is dressed in a Skeleton Costume, just buy 2-3 stacks of Acorn cookies from her then make a macro /item "Acorn Cookie" , stand in front of her and just spam that macro till you get all the items you want, so like you want Horror Head II, just equip Horror Head and nothing else, spam your macro and she will eventually give you the Horror Head II... its all random and not much else you can do other than spam, you don't need to use diffrent sweets, you can spam acorn cookies for however long it takes. HQ Staves are gotten the same way, equip the NQ version then spam macro till she gives it up.

Pitchforks, are a bit diffrent, you have to be in a PT with one other person, each one of you needs to get a certain costume combo depending on city, then go stand under one of the Bomb Ballon decorations while both of you are in costume, if done right you should get NQ fork. to get HQ, equip the NQ fork, do the same thing for NQ..but go to a diffrent city.. if i remember this part correctly, your aim is to get a combo that turns you both into Goblins, then you run under a Ballon Decoration and you get the HQ forks.

npcs only take 1 type of food every game day, you cant just spam trade i dont believe >.>
unless you still get a reward even after npc stops giving you costumes (which is after 1 trade of 1 food type)?

Edit: seems i was wrong, i just traded a cookie a few times and got a treat staff lol.
