Yes, in regards to spamming one treat to a NPC, you can only do one treat for costumes if you were doing the Witch/Coven Hat quest, so if you tradea acorn cookie for a costume and get caught by a witch or your costume drops normally, then you need to trade a diffrent kind of treat to get a new costume.

If the only thing you are trying to get are the Staves/Pumpkin Heads, then you can spam trade a single type of treat.. Acorn Cookies in my instance..to a single costumed NPC and you can get everything from that one NPC over time.

Just remember that when you want the HQ versions of the items, you need to wear the NQ item first, and only one NQ at a time, so you can't wear NQ Pumpkin Head and NQ stave and spam trade, just wear one or the other till the NPC gives you what you want, then swap equip to get a diffrent item.

Where did you go?

To get Coven Hat, you do the first witch quest, and get your Witch Hat.. wait till the next vana day, and while wearing the Witch Hat from before, talk to the same NPC you started the Witch Hat quest with... he'll tell you to follow a diffrent witch..at the end of that quest you go back and he hands you the Coven Hat...repeating the quest after that will give you papillion fireworks.

Were you wearing Pumpkin Head II?

The NQ > HQ list should be:

Pumpkin Head > Horror Head
Pumpkin Head II > Horror Head II
Trick Staff > Treat Staff
Trick Staff II > Treat Staff II

Wear NQ while spam trading sweets should net you HQ, but if you weren't wearing PH II at the time, then there may still be a bit of randomness to the whole process.

I can vouch for the fact that there is a bit of randomness in it, at least as far as the staffs go. Took my mule out for her first Harvestfest and one of the first items she got was a Trick Staff II, wearing no seasonal items at all except for the Pumpkin Head 1.

took me about six hundred cookies, but I got all the items. Still working on the pitchfork thing though. Its not working right.

Can anyone post for absolutely sure what the costume combinations are? This can be found at www.ffxiclopedia.com, but make sure you check the UPDATED version.

It does infact help to be totally naked and wearing the NQ item to get the HQ.

Best to just be totally naked for NQ.

The latent on Warp is that you must be wearing the staff during the Harvest Festival. If the Harvest Festival is not going on, the latent will never activate.

If the latent is active and you want to Warp, hit a mob with the staff. Every hit has a random chance of causing you to warp. The chance is pretty small, though - sometimes, you have to beat on a mob a long, long time before it activates.

Speaking of event items, I hope they let you get the Rabbit/Worm/Mandy belts again.

I threw away my worm and many belt thinking "They'll give these out every year" but that doesn't seem to be the case and it seems like a one time thing.

Also if you didn't know, the rabbit/worm/mandy belts makes you into a rabbit/worm/mandy(costumes).

I didn't know you could trade the same sweet to the same npc until you got an item, so I decided to give it a try just wearing my trick staff I, in the hopes of getting a treat staff. After the first trade (Where I got a costume) they just say "Thank you..." over and over... I traded 50 cookies so far. Do I just keep going? Or am I missing something?

I have found that if you trade another type of sweet it will work, it acts like only one type of sweet per game day for a prize. I carried around about 20 of each kind of cookie to get all my stuff.

Yes, you're doing it right, usually the first time they give you a costume, just drop it and start spam trading again, its quite possible to go thru a complete stack of treats and not get anything, but you *can* get all the gear from one npc by just spam trading it a single treat.

Please take my advice and just get some different treats, it will be much less expensive. I have a feeling the spam trading crosses over into the next day and that is why it works. Buy 20 or 30 of each kind of cookie, maybe a few pies and chocolates and try different NPCs, your odds will increase greatly. I have gotten all items each year for 3 yrs, it works well trust me.

That's what I was doing originally, when I got my first 4 items. I ran into a streak of bad luck so I wanted to give the spamming a try, but I think I'll just be patient and trade the different kinds of sweets. Thanks

I got my NQ pitchfork by following last years guide in Windhurst Waters.
The HQ was a little harder to get.
I ran around South San d'Oria until I found the NPC that turned me into a goblin.
Then, I called my gf over and we ran under all three bomb balloons and at the last one, we recieved them.

Btw, we are both Mithra and I think the name of the NPC was Michelle.
Just make sure you have you NQ fork equipped, are in a party with only one other person, and your inventory isn't full.
