I'm not generally a FFXI-basher, I enjoy the game far too much for that. But whereas the festivals were a fun and great thing the first year I was here, this year feels like a massive disappointment in the sense that they were just too lazy to do anything new this year.

The start of the always fiendishly fun annual Harvest Festival has been set for Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 01:00.

This year's festival has all the makings of a truly memorable celebration; everyone's favorite bomb decorations will adorn the streets of the three nations, specialty shops will deal in seasonal sundries, and both classic and all-new costumes will debut!

Anyone else notice how they changed the thing about "All new costumes" debuting (as none did debut) at the last minute without saying anything official?

Don't forget to talk to any moogles that may be hovering about the streets. They might just have some hauntingly helpful hints!

I don't know about anywhere else, but as for San d'Oria, it would appear they simply forgot to add the moogles that give you hints about how to get the pitchfork + 1. They only showed up after that unexplained emergency all-server maintenance.

Such a disappointment.

I haven't done a harvest festival since 2005, and wow, did SE make it so that it drains more money and time from our pockets.

I decided "Time to get a new Trick Staff II" and found out that they made it harder.

In 2003-2005 harvest festival, you could:
1. Trade fruits to the NPC, yes, fruits! They accepted fruits!
2. You can trade any treat or fruit each vanadiel day. You can trade the same fruit/treat over and over as long as you're trading to different NPCs.

In 2006-2007 harvest festival:
1. You can no longer trade fruits to NPC.
2. You can only trade ONE of any trick to ANY NPC per day.

It doesn't matter much for me because I have all the items except a new Trick Staff II but too bad for the new people doing this event, it's harder than the 2003-2005 event.
