I was thinking about gathering some friends to hopefully pop KV after this maintenance tomorrow, but I was told he would only pop 21-24 hours directly after the maintenance because he is different from other HNM.

Can anyone shed some knowledge?

can pop any time after servers go back up as long as single/double earth weather is present.

Basically anytime after 21 hrs, and double/single earth weather. Yes it can pop single earth, we've seen it done countless times and have 17 kills to show for it. Just have someone camp it and check in every once in awhile.

KV can spawn directly after servers are back up from maintenance, as long as earth weather(single or double) is up.

I say the KCdrk thing b/c we have that available to us - we have 2 kc drks in ls (used to be 3 but 1 moved to Fenrir) is just how we do it, usually one or the other is online. Also a pre-req to have drk 37 on all our rdms, so we also have plenty of those.

ive been at KV camps when he didn't spawn til like 8+ RL hours AFTER his window closed. gotta love weather spawned mobs. Pounding sand is fun indeed.

Yes but you can hold it with 2-4 people. Need a blink tank (even RDM/NIN works), a WHM for Stona, RDM for enfeebles. Straight tanking is pretty easy, so is kiting. Make sure you keep the holding party separate from the DD alliance until you are ready to engage him since KV has alliance hate & alliance draw-in.

I'm guessing you thought "I'll never level SAM, DRG, or DRK" but then changed your mind later?

it popped today and i had gather about 14 people in western altepa, insanely fast. It was up for about 4 minutes and depopped before we claimed it ( we didnt have any rdm/drk there yet ).
