I'm a new player ans i joined an LS called Knightsofbastok because a friend of mine was there and he could help me during tough situation. For a few day now i notice a player named Rikmaru using the word nigger and the term niggerish which i think means a state of mind but in a more insulting way to African Americans like myself. I didn't want to cause any trouble since i was new but i couldn't help asking just to make sure so i asked "what does niggerish mean?" I wasn't really shocked when he proved he knew he was using such a term in and insulting way so I asked him if he thinks i should be offended and report his bad choice of words to a GM...After the flood of text from other LS member telling me to "get the f*** out of the LS", "freedom of speech", and "this is America" i decided this LS wasn't the place for for and left but not before letting Rikmaru know he was still getting reported.

"Does having freedom of speech mean we can ignore our responsibility's?"

Let me know what you would have done in my place

Same problem in my old ls, seems to be a growing problem within the ffxi community. Lots of kids with big mouths and no skill with alot of ignorance and disrespect. from 5 to 2 years ago everyone in the game was very helpful and even if they were dicks respected other just a little bit at least. I even switched servers from Siren to Valefor to see if it would be different and that was a mistake, us ps2 and pc players all lol'd at the 360 players back then and it looks like we were right since thats what a majority of the players on playing on now. Granted of course not all of them are like that, I want to do reseach on the effects of peoples attitudes with people on the 360, maybe it all just comes from being on xbox live and being used to talking trash to people on the headsets i dont know lol. Anyone thats played for 5 years could agree that the community has been going downhill recently. Again not directly pointing to ALL 360 players, just pointing out a majority of problems are comming from players that ARE on 360. On siren there was this dick Aola, and everyone knew about him cause he was the ONLY major dick on the server, now i feel like im surrounded by a bunch of aola's. But theres nothing we can really do, just find the good people and ignore the bad. The situation that happened on my old ls was someone that was acutally nice and VERY belpful but a few days later he was using the Ni**** term constantly and he was just talking normal, no arguments going on, just like the guy in your ls I think. I guess even the nice people can be ignorant and disrespectful of others.

As for your situation, i would have done the same. It's just hard sometime cause you get to know people in the ls then find out weeks or months later their true nature is disgusting and you don't want to be around them and find yourself starting all over again to get into a good ls community with good people then when you do they start going different directions or quitting ffxi cause they've played it out as much as they want to or whatever lol, frustrating process, not SE's fault. Some people just suck and we just gota keep giving them our piece of minds and maybe one day things will be somewhat back to normal in vanadiel.

lol... It isn't America. The ToS is law, freedom of speech does not exist in FFXI, and that LS is full of morons.

It's always cool to say shit to people that you wouldn't do in public/real life/the open.

Like whatever negative comment that will be said about me next!

to the OP yeah thats kinda fucked up, my LS is pretty roudy as well, but if some clam and politely sez that something is brothering them and is being obsene, we will handle it in a much better fashion, before u ditch the ls talk to the sacks and ldr about it.

and to the guys from another sever>.> 90% of the ppl on this sever wouldnt say or act the way they do in RL. Not jus XBOX 360 ppl all of them. Beside dont bring up RL when you, your self is hideing behind a screen. (TAUNT?)

and

"lol... It isn't America. The ToS is law, freedom of speech does not exist in FFXI," FTW?!
