There really isn't a whole lot of gear you can get to prepare for the job imo. I mean moldavite's earring is obvious. Wizard's earring is probably going to skyrocket in price once the job is released. The elemental earring (which gives elemental skill +3) costs about 500k on my server. This ring while useless to BLMs will be amazingly good for scholar because it gives elemental skill +5. I wouldn't be surprised if it went up to like 800k-1mil gil. You should think about investing in one now.

Well... it seems SE gimped SCH gear (heavily). SCH can't use the following: Nashira/Homam sets, Shijin(sky) set, Salvage sets, Relic sets (or any weapon), Jailer weapons (or any multihit weapon for that matter), or Abjuration sets. It seems that the best equipment a SCH can use is not even that difficult to obtain; stuff SCH can use include: Errant/Mahatma set, Yigit set, Cheviot/Umbra cape, mage clubs/staves/shields (i.e. Mythic Wand, Genbu's Shield, etc.), and anything that had 'All Jobs' on it prior to the update... and that's all! SCH has nothing really noteworthy for 70+ (aside from what was mentioned) and I really hope SE will implement a lot of new stuff for SCH (else we will see almost every SCH with AF1 at 75, which will not be interesting in the least).

This gear selection is highly disappointing. I was thinking that we'd get access to the basic mage sets like zenith, nashira, and either morrigans or marduks. So basically at 75 we'll be wearing errant, and or yigit gear.

Minor addition: SCH can also use Rostrum Pumps (decent but only 1 piece) and the Goliard Set (not very impressive anyways) for those who collect this junk lol.

LOL you're that scrub ass Black Mage that is, for some reason, still pissed because I MPK'd some Aqueducts party years ago, or something like that, lol. No, no maybe it was because I made you lose a whole 500 XP when I might have ~accidentally~ PK'd you with a hellmine in Garlaige? (Also a couple of years back) But I dont think it was that. Anyway, the truth is, your view is very different from many others on the server, and while, you do have an impressive track record (LOLPUP75), you're still just some worthless server trash that no one gives a damn about. And wow, nice job posting your ' leet ass ' 20 THF in your sig. Damn. Impressive.



So point is, just go with the damn forum and leave EXTREMELY old drama out of it. No one wants to hear that shit. Just trying to get shit started.

The gear selection we have is fairly disappointing, but theres some gear thats not horrible. Pieces that may be worthwhile include yigit turban, rostrum pumps, goliard cuffs, errant pants, wizard's earring, elemental earring, and moldavite earring, INT rings, elemental torque, and elemental staves.

It appears that the only Sky gear that Scholar gets is Genbu's Shield, which is pretty lacklustre. As far as "no sea gear" goes, the +5 skill capes from the Ix'aerns are still "all jobs," so a free 5 enhancing, elemental, dark, enfeebling, healing or divine magic might be useful for landing these ~helix enfeebles. Astute cape is still Bard only bitches, hands off!
