I cant decide what to put as my sub job when i go Dragoon my bro/friends say i should do somthing like drg/mnk cause im going monk to get 30....but i wanna use a polearm and have a mix of some sort of magic but idk.......any tips/adive would be great thanks

The nice thing about DRG is that any sub can benefit the DRG in some sort of way. Except maybe BRD, BST, or SMN. But the popular choices are SAM or THF.

i heard alot about sam and thf and drk on the other forums but on my server there are lots of drgs/wars and drg/whm and a few rdm subs
the only thing i havent seen yet is sub blm and i was wondering if that would work at all?!?

In my opinion this choice is very simple and very easy. DRG/SAM. Why? It's quite obvious. Even at low levels the TP gain is better than normal, the stats are beneficial especially to a DRG, and once you get your DRG to level 60 you'll be dealing out penta thrusts repeatedly. If you take into consideration that penta thrust is probably the most damaging weapon skill there is, the benefit to this is great. The only problem with this is that your damage is so high that you will have to be careful not to do "too" much damage because you'll have the potential to do so much that the provokers wont be able to get the monster off you (much like when a WHM uses benediction). 8)

On Bahamut server it's like this

search results = 30-70 DRG's in all
1-3 DRG/SAM
2-6 DRG/THF
4-8 DRG/WHM or DRG/RDM (soloing DRG's)
rest is a clone army of DRG/WAR and i might add that i'm usaly that ONE!! DRG/SAM on the server

DRG/THF seems to work out the best.
DRG/WHM is ok... high enough MND stat to heal but...
DRG/SAM isnt as uber as people think... yeah, penta thrust is nice but... you could be doing way better with drg/thf, really benefit from teh dex

either DRG/WAR or DRG/WHM. With WAR you get more HP and Damage, and with WHM u get to have Curative magic. My cousin uses a DRG/NIN combo, but I cant really back up if thats a wise choice or not.

DRG/SAM I think ROCKS!!!! Especially at higher lvls with Penta Thrust. You can't go wrong with that. That combo makes Dragoons harder hitters than even teh DRK and WAR. After I get PLD up to 75...i'm goin that route.

DRG/RDM - best solo sub (you have all the single Cures you need, Wyvern takes care of any negative status effects when you use Weapon skill, you have more debuffs which will save you a lot of damage, any melee sub will require you to equip a lot of +MP equip anyways so getting less MP from RDM rather then WHM doesn't matter).
DRG/THF - most damaging (hit more often and critical hit more often, Evasion Boost helps a bit when you get hate, Sneak Attack + Double Thrust or Penta Thrust does more damage then most 2 person skill chains with a magic burst)
DRG/WAR - mediocre backup tank with Berserk, later on Double Attack can be nice (can't tank too well, Dragoon was designed to lose hate not to get it, Berserk still won't beat getting a couple good criticals)
DRG/SAM - useless till level 60 (Samurai has mediocres stats, TP Store will reduce the number of hits to go from 0%TP to 100%TP by one hit, you hit less often then DRG/Thief at about the same damage and about as often as a DRG/Warrior for less damage, at level 60 spamming Penta Thrust is a viable strategy if you can hit often enough)
DRG/DRK - Warrior sub with no Provoke but some useful abilities (the Attack Bonuses are nice, Weapon Bash, Last Resort, and Soul Eater are good abilities, at best DRK magic could be used to pull otherwise not much of a help)
DRG/NIN - you can't dual wield 1 handed Polearms so what's the point

For farming I think drg/whm is better than drg/rdm. drg/rdm gets blind and bio over whm, BUT whm sub gets auto-hp regen. Which do you really think is better? Personally I'm 50+ and for farming I'd say drg/whm is better once you get the auto-regen.

Fairy is the exact same thing. And past level 60 I think there is only one DRG on the server who uses SAM, and I know for a fact he has a static party. I have no high level experience, but it must be that way for a reason.
My advice is level all your subs then let the person inviting you pick. Doesn't take all that much effort to get to 37(unless you are like me and you insist on having every peice of hq gear at the level its usable, then it takes months)
