Could a WHM/NIN or SAM/NIN hold? And I read that after draw-in it uses some nasty moves, so is it a better idea to stand still than even try to run? O and I assume if I run out of antidotes, poison pots would do?

Dude, cry more. This isn't like Fafnir (who rages and drops a lot of useful stuff) or Tiamat (who also rages and drops a lot of useful, sellable stuff), this is KV, who drops one really nice item for one person. That means you have to talk your entire LS into coming out to this PitA HNM for your helm, and if you can do that, you've got half your job done already.

Because KV can depop once earth weather is over, kiting it is basically a requirement while an LS gets together and gets their alliance ready. Trust me, you would have done the same thing.

KV is not a guaranteed 24-pop. It pops only when there's earth weather up, and only if it feels like it.

Once you throw your plan together, you get one shot at KV. You have to throw everything you can against it very quickly or else it'll totally wreck your alliance's shit up. If you fail, you lose claim and if earth weather is no longer up, you lose KV as well.

The strat is just zerg him DL style. Lowest man kill I've seen is 12 by Vryheld on Cerberus. We killed him one time with 14 but also wiped a couple times with 14-15 people. 2 RDM/DRK stunners and as many DRKs with zerg weapons as possible. Think Bv2.

As for kiting RDM/NIN is the only job I've seen successful kite solo, the next best would be DRK/NIN with fast pants, but only expect 5 minutes top. When he does the draw in (if he does) a DRK can stun him and get away to put shadows up. His ACC is pretty low but if he hits you a Petrified effect can proc, I've seen that alone wipe kite parties. My advice would be to have a NIN/WAR and a RDM/NIN be ready to hold, a BLM or DRK with stun is nice to help. Then as your LS arrives add another RDM and as many WHMs as possible to the kite team. WHMs generally don't enter the zerg alliance so getting on the hate list to help kiters should not be an issue. From there its just setting up and zerging.

A NIN or THF in full eva gear subbing RDM with some juices wouldn't even need to kite. KV's accuracy is already horrible and I already know NINs evade the majority of his attacks with eva gear. THF would just be able to do it more easily.

Tiamat doesn't rage, he just starts getting harder at under 20% HP.

Rage = melee hits/WS doing 0 damage, magic doing almost 0 damage, and getting 1 shotted on PLD if it hits you.

It really doesn't matter tbh. It's an HNM so it's ACC is ganna be decent, just movement speed or a haste build for shadows + anitdotes. NIN/WHM or /RDM would do ok with some mp regen shit maybe. RDM + NIN is a sure fire win if you don't fk up. RDM/WHM NIN/DRK would be best bet prolly.

I've seen under 12 on Remora, 5drks 2brd maybe 2 rdm and they killed it in 24sec, most ls' on remora that kill it in under 30 sec every time.

Yeah, shoulda been kinda obvious that SE would say that. Apparently people don't understand how rage works. If you are ganna hold it, chances are you are ganna wipe from rage. 1hr is kinda fair... I think they should cut Faf to 45mins, or something. Or just rework ground kings <_>

since kv is such a low-contested mob on most servers, people will laugh if you complain for "holding".

as has been stated before, most ls's have to hold the mob to get it during a reasonable time seeing as KV is one of the few mobs that randomly goes backwards in spawn times due to it not always popping during the 21-24 hour windows.

complaining that people are holding a mob your ls can't gather for to kill anyways is one of the dumbest things i've heard lately. if it's 4am, why complain? not like you'll get 18+ people out there during the work week to kill a mob that "may" drop a hat.

there are several linkshells serverwide that kill this thing on a regular basis, with regular being 3-4 times a week max due to its weird pop schedule.

just be patient, and take a few rdm/nins to kite for you next time

GM a LS for holding mobs that rage is dumb. If they fuck up and it rages, bad for them. Thats why GM's doesn't give a fuck anymore when people hold a mob that can rage. When a mob can't rage that means they can hold 4ever without having problems, that it will kill them later if they have a good hold party. As for KV getting hold for hours, who cares? Thats the only way to get to kill it. I own a Ace's helm and I know how this shit works. If I never went out there on my ninja and it pop, my LS would never have time to get out there in time to kill it, because of depop. If you camp it your self and can't hold it, then cry because of depop, don't cry about people hold it from 30min-1/2 hours ish. You honestly think KV would sit and wait for your ls for an hour? I doubt that. We had a episode in altept few nights ago where the other LS claimed KV but ended up calling for help, 1 sec after it went white it depop, thats how fast it can go. If you camp KV without holding it for your LS to come there to help, no way you will get an ace's in the closest future.

There was a week where Kv was popping instant in JP time. We barely had people on but killed it around 3-4 am (9-10 am my time) est for 5+days and with 12 people. Just need the right jobs and enough BRD's on, hell even 1 BRD is fine if you got the DRK's with multi hit weapons. Theres people having work early in the morning and needs to get up early, they can't just log on just to kill you a HNM thats a bitch to pop and drops an helm you want, that may not drop at all. Just find a RDM that can kite with you.
