The bonus XP was from a Campaign OP. Should do those from time to time, nice to have that extra xp jump on your screen after a long one.

Damnit Nikos, I didn't even see your post =( KI took me to the page before this, lol.

Ive noticed at the end of some campaign SS there is a line that says

"objective completed"

then bonus xp is awarded...

Im curious, what is that about?

And honestly I agree with the idea that really the question is xp per campaign time limit. I mean most campaigns i get in are like 45 mins...then I walk away with ~1k.

64 BLU atm

It means that you've completed whatever Campaign Op you were on and now you can get the Allied Notes for it. It only appears at the end of battle when doing Defensive or Offensive Ops I believe.

Don't have SS of it, but had one battle which I gained about 3k per wave, 4 waves so ~12k overall give or take.

EDIT: Bah Ninja'd

Campaign operations

I usually do "Aegis Scream IV" under defensive operations, basically you just help defend your city (ie, do battles in sandy-owned areas. after about 4 or 5 waves, you get bonus xp.
Theres also offensive operations for beastmen controlled areas, and a shit-ton of stupid ones you can do in-town on any job at any level.

The ofensive "Splitting Heirs (S)" is where those sexu cuchi mantles and witch sashs come from.

Ok, I'm newly back and all, but I've barely broken 2k exp. Granted, I've mostly done it on my MNK68 (leveled in campaign from 65 to 66) but is there some secret I do not know about? I've also done some on my THF and NIN, usually subbing DNC and still don't break 2k. The ones I get the most from are just pounding on the forts... the other missions always seem to come and go too fast before I get a chance to work the mobs much. Also I'm pretty much always forced to solo, not a lot of parties going on for this stuff, if that matters.

Your score is going to be based on your level, your rank, the length of the battle, and what you do during that battle.
I've had a lot of luck on DRG/WHM lately, but the short duration of the battles is what's keeping me from getting some of the high scores posted here.

Basically, the more varied the actions you can perform, the higher your rewards will be. Check out the wiki article on the different actions you can take for xp. An ideal job would be one that can DD, enfeeble, tank, and cure.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Campaign...lculation_Guide

Fortifications cap out fairly low xp-wise, if they're your primary target, I recommend getting an evaluation every 10-15 minutes.

at a low rank your max-xp is cut too which might be your main problem. at wings of whatever $$$$ (highest for now) i can pull out 3k in 20 minutes, but on my 2nd toon that is at the 2nd lowest rank, I barely break 1k.

you don't need a party at all for this, most people cure randomly and NPCs cure in some nations/regions, plus the passing sprite will even raise you.

just do as many actions as possible, everything gives xp; taking dmg, giving dmg, doing JAs, MAs or whatever. On solo BRD I use Pianissimo before every buff song just to use more abilities.

Just had a 2 hour 10 minute battle in The Eldieme Necropolis. Got over 10k from it. Renewed tags approximately every 10 mins, so don't have a screenshot of the total score. >< Max for that battle would have been 11700 xp, and I know I lost a few minutes from tag changes.

And in case you're wondering, that's just a timer that I whipped up in Visual Basic .NET.

Most I've done was just over 8k in one sitting, but that campaign was long... well over 2hrs. I afk'd at least twice and came back to the same battle. This is the only crappy cam phone to crappy tv screenshot I have though, of a different battle. DRG pwnage baybeh.

I used to do campaign on PLD/WAR with Emblem 1 or 2. I used to get roughly 3k easy on the longer fights. It's been awhile since I've done campaign.

I started to pick it back up recently and I go either PLD/WAR or PLD/DNC. My current medal is Steelknight Emblem. I still do roughly the same things I did before and the battles are roughly the same length. ... I can't seem to break the 2k mark though and I can't think of why. Did SE make any adjustments to Campaign within the last 6 months? I know there are a lot of variables when it comes to adding up your exp/limit and a.notes. I figured it doesn't hurt to ask. If SE hasn't made any changes, then I'm clearly doing something different and just not thinking of it.

Thanks for any responses smile.gif

(I also read Nanako's post as well. I didn't come here and just post right away tongue.gif)

What level were you then, and what level are you now? When you were last playing, do you remember if it was before or after SE buffed the mobs so much that we spent months just trying to keep them out of the cities? They beefed up the mobs during that patch, and it made it harder to hit and damage them, which in turn made it harder to get decent xp if you weren't a high level. There's like a magic level you need to be to get good xp from normal campaign mobs.

Steelknight is high enough of a rank where you should still be able to get decent xp, so that shouldn't be your problem. To break 2k xp, you need a battle that's at least 25 minutes long for that rank.

If you can do all of the following things, you should be able to get some nice numbers in campaign:
-Do damage.
-Tank.
-Cure yourself/others.
-Enfeeble.

PLD/DNC can do all these things really well provided you're high enough level to survive.

The big problem I'm seeing lately is just a huge amount of shitty battles that just aren't worth the time to fight. The longer the fight, the more opportunity for the big numbers to roll in. But the battles I'm seeing are only generally lasting 15-25 minutes. Considering that it takes about 7 minutes from start for the attacking forces to even zone in, that's rather sad.

On a side note, last night I saw a record for shortest campaign. In Meriphataud Mountains I saw an 8 minute battle from start to finish. At the 3 minute mark, 4 groups of yagudo swarmed in. 5 minutes later it was over. That's just awful and shouldn't be happening.

I'll tell you a little secret though, soloing Fiendish Leechkeepers can be some really good xp if you can do it slowly. I can usually get over 3k xp in a fight just soloing one of them. This assumes the battle lasts long enough to give out 3k of course.

Back when I used to do campaign, I was a 75PLD/WAR and stayed in S.Sandy most of the time. There always seemed to be a battle going on. (I didn't have DNC leveled back then.)

Now that I'm using /DNC, I've noticed it's easier to get higher numbers for obvious reasons. (Steps!) I've also noticed the length of many campaign's being short. One thing I haven't been doing too much of is healing others, since I take one or two mobs and solo them for most of the battle. (Away from people) Once I'm done soloing, I will go back and raise/cure people and such. I've also been trying to SC if a friend comes along. I know thats another category for points.

I got the last medal for Emblems over the weekend. This coming weekend I should be on Wings. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the response and tips. happy.gif
