I know Rice Dumplings are probably a good food for a while, but what sushi would benefit DNC the best? Right now I'm thinking Squid or Sole.

I agree with Ambrosia, but once you get into higher levels where the mobs are only T-VT and acc isn't as much as an issue might want to try foods with Store TP on them so every hit adds just that much more tp.

Just a bit of insight from at least my server's auction house; Carbonara is the cheapest and most commonly available of the listed Store TP foods.

If you want to be all technical, Tuna for waltzing mainheal on a party would add the +chr and acc, but sole is always superior for DDing when it comes to the sushi varieties. I haven't really had much chance to be a DD of any sort yet in my parties since Colibri at 62-65 as I'm usually main heal in my parties lately.
We should consider if this thread stays afloat breaking down the food categories into mainhealing situations and offensive, much akin to the way mnk forum broke down the chi blast and offensive foods seperate, also for any job forum to really float decent knowledge without a headache people should just ignore the massive trolls who bring an arguement to any discussion such as MKat and nef.
Not to discredit everything they say, but a penchant for arguing seems to derail anything they touch with walls of pointless insulting text.

5 STR really doesn't make a noticable impact on damage.

I've used chiefkabobs from 15-38 and I doubt I'll stop until the mid-50's or so.

For the sake of not narrowing the job down to accuracy whore in food and in gear, meat should probably be considered in TP foods as well, rice dumplings were included which is fine til about 50~(55 for a cheaper colibri food), hedgehog pie should also go on the list since its a heavier version of that >_>;

In the begining, there was nothing but meat, but then SE Said "Let their be Sushi!" and there was, and it was good.
I'm personally sticking with my ACC whoreness on DNC. I'm still doing the "Full Main Heal" thing. >.> Preformed 0 WS since level 15.....
A random tangent about DNC af, please have "Enchances Steps" something like Step ACC up would be nice, every time I miss a single Step I die alittle inside.

Considering Haste is a stat which is as important as Accuracy for DNCs to gain TP,
by Lv. 70 and above, you will start to replace your head, hands, waist, and feet slots with Turban, Dusk, Speed/Swift, Dusk, respectively in current available gears.
Then it leaves only ranged/ammo, neck, earx2, body, ringx2, back, and legs for Accuracy.
Therefore the luxury to eat Store TP food might not be there for the DNCs, you probably still be better off with sushi.
Since the benefit of 0.3 TP gained at each hit does not outweight what 14%-18% Haste can bring you, in both TP gain and in total utilities.
(actually, this is the same reason why other jobs don't eat Store TP food either)
But its always nice to know what options are available, nice job ^^

Though Icy, you start replacing them ONLY if you can afford them, because other wise people, especially the 2 75 DNCs in my LS, are getting by just fine without the gear you listed so its kinda bad to start listing off something newer players wouldn't be able to afford if it becomes a "standard" and "you're gimped if you don't have it", because the only easy piece to get is the W. Turban, the belt is impossible to get when people don't do CoP missions because they refuse to help.
From what I seen in my 70 levels thus far, and the 2 DNCs..you will eat sushi regardless, especially in Sky/Sea. Dynamis not so much...but most people eat food there anyway, though it isn't 'required'.
Store TP food isn't good if you're against high evasion mobs, why would store TP matter if you can't even hit the thing?
Step accuracy is based on weapon accuracy which is why /DNC lands them a lot more than DNC main, due to having A-, A, A+ weapon rating. Some of the food is good...but secretly..I think people just want prices to raise on some of the lesser used foods lol, because after this was posted, I distinctly seen hedgehog pie rise from 17k - 33k.

That is indeed true, I agree one does not need any certain equipments in certain slots to be great at the job. Under this premise, there are in fact some usages for Store TP

As people have said before haste and acc are the two stats which truely shine for dnc. The equipment listed above as well as the 5th piece Icy forgot that we can wield that has +haste (Barbarossa's Zerephs (sp?)) which has an extra +4% haste on it in the pants slot however there are equally good things out there such as the pahluwan. Combined with a B+ dagger and 2x acc traits (Which if they are comparable to rng and drg means +22 acc post 60) it means that meat definately becomes a viable option. I am a 65 dnc with +33 from gear and +55 total acc with the acc bonus traits and eat meat as almost every single mob I have found to have an 80% or better acc on at this point. However I do this as I am using cures primarily along with the occasional BF DE I use meats (Especially balik sis for the secondary mod of +4 dex which lightly but still helps both acc and DE damage as well as the 13% increase to att) or the meat mithkabobs (slightly higher att% as well as STR increase. both of which are faily cheap and effective food especially since I am one of those goofy /war people for most parties) Because of these acc traits however eating meat or eatting Store TP food definately becomes more of a possibility vs. a once in a while type thing.

How about Urchin Sushi or Eyeball Soup? There's CHR- on the latter, but I would still end up CHR neutral from gear/food at level 15 with it.

sure if you can find it. last eyeball soup over a month ago and last urchin sushi was back in 2006 on my server.

I'm a 100+1 chef, so unless it's a Stewpot or has a ridiculously impossible item to get (like Moval. Water until recently) that's not really an issue.

I was tempted to make a new thread just to send people into an apoplectic fit, but I'd rather not.
I'm about to hit 20 Dancer and that means I'll likely stop soloing as much and attempt to tolerate a party. I'm leveling exclusively as a support job, so I won't be going past 37. I've been having issues with the EM-T mobs I've been soloing (Orcs in Yughott Grotto) regarding Accuracy. Part of that can be attributed to using Republic Knuckles instead of some kind of dagger, but I've got a pair of Mercenary's Knives waiting for me to get the last 2k XP I need for level 20. I'm wondering what food I should use, though. I had a Dancer in my party the other day fighting bats in Garlaige Citadel (she was 34 or 35 at the time) who ate sushi and was able to land her hits, but she complained that they were hitting for 0s in spite of the Acid Bolts our Thief was landing. I didn't check her gear, but the visible bits were exactly what she should have been wearing, so it's probably safe to assume that she was adequately geared.
Basically, the question I have is what food I should use for the next 18 levels. I solo'd Thief to 37, so I don't recall what damage daggers do, but hitting for 0s even with sushi seems a little unusual. By the same token, I'm fairly unconcerned about my damage output as long as I can land my Steps and have sufficient TP for Waltzes. Thanks in advance for any input.
