Soloist blm most always sub rdm, why? fast cast & gravity?

I am going to play Devil's Advocate though and say that if you can notice the .04 seconds RPumps take off your Elegy time for pulling, you are hallucinating. Even if you had the most sensitive eyes on the planet and could see that, I highly doubt your reaction time would be able to put it to use. If you claim and mob over another BRD because you used those and he didn't, you got lucky or just plain casted sooner - client/server lag pending. Obviously, any little bit "helps" but as for it making or breaking your pulls, I can't say I buy it.

I also wouldn't quite consider /RDM a viable argument in comparison to RPumps. You are comparing an item with 2% Fast Cast to a job trait that is over 7x that amount as a sub unless I'm incorrect on my values.

Again, nothing against your choice of gear, moreso against the reasoning behind it.

I don't buy it either. The improvement to fast cast on any piece of fast cast gear BLM can wear is honestly, beyond minimal to the point of that I don't even notice it. The only fast cast gear BLM can wear is: Loq. earring, warlock's mantle (/rdm only), and rostrum. A whopping what, ~4% fast cast total? Hardly noticable (I can understand in the case of Stun, since extra fast cast also lowers recast timer, but meh). I say this because I used rostrum on BLM a lot until I got yigit which I use now for all my nukes. I also don't notice the difference in casting time, the only thing I notice is the extra damage. Even when I solo I have no problem whatsoever avoiding mobs, even without the extra fast cast (gogo 1-2%).

This is, of course, coming from a BLM standpoint. I once used the pumps on WHM (can't wear them on BRD yet) and I honestly prefer blessed feet, but that's from a WHM's point of view.

Would I consider rostrum pumps "gimp"? Not exactly (shit, it's better than AF2, zenith, errant (lol @ errant for nuking; that's truly gimp), etc). But considering how easy it is to get Yigit Crackows, the only requirement is time investment. There's 3 better options than Rostrum, though. In rostrum's place... goliard feet are better... yigit's better... and morrigan feet's better (with full set only).

I haven't really been paying attention to the thread at all... or this flame-age going on regarding Rostrum Pumps.. Anyways, I have Sorcerer's Sabots, which I think are pretty leet, but the difference in cast times for long spells on BLM is quite noticeable compared to someone with Rostrum Pumps, I actually noticed it before checking someone else in my manaburn party to make sure I wasn't going insane.

Anyways, what I came to this topic originally for was to point out the nice Cobra Unit Hat, obtainable with some time in campaign and some Allied Notes for WotG Windurst citizens. It has hMP+1, which is good for anyone who doesn't have Yigit Turban (such as myself, assaults are not my forte). It's also level 55, which can be useful for capped events as well.
