Anyone have those days where you sit around all day and don't get a single party? Maybe max out at 5000-7000 exp/merit points per day because you seldom get a fast party? A full day wasted....

That happens to me all the damn time.

However, I just started campaign, and I must say it's a time saver and a life saver. I don't have to dedicate a whole day to looking for a party when I can just pop into the past and get several hundred/thousand limit points with only 15 minutes of work or so. I just need to keep fighting. There's no party drama, no pointing of the fingers, no teasing based on job or gear, and most of all, it doesn't feel like a chore. It's like a bunch of mini-besiged fights with a faster payoff...and it happens in multiple places, usually back-to-back.

As a DRK that has struggled in failed party searches in the past, I can honestly say this new feature is a godsend. It makes me able to immediately jump in and exp whenever I feel like without having to spend gil on food and other supplies constantly. I also feel like I dont need to deal with the irritating comments based on what other people find to be the best gear. I can go in with what I have... what I can afford. I can save my gil and slowly build up to better equipment later rather than spend 30,000-60,000 on daily party food per day. Red Curry means nothing here.

Also, I get to meet people. I've actually made a few friends through campaign mode..and this is only after doing it for two days. Parties usually end up being "business onry!" Campaign fights end up being fun, epic, addicting, and satisfying without feeling like you're forced to play by your peers' standards.

I can finally use this to finish meriting my DRK without any strings attached, then I can move on and try other things while using my free time to earn gil and do more end-game events without having to worry about the meriting level grinding.

SE, you did good. I feel like I can finally have fun playing again. Add that to the fact that, as a college student I have a very restricted schedule, I can actually spend offline time with offline friends and I can come back and say "I feel like meriting for a couple of hours" and not have to sit around and wait for a party to happen.

Yea, have to say I have gotten at least 10 full merits from Campaign, and it is alot of fun. Going drk/rdm I feel invincible and can pretty much solo anything but the NM and the wolf. Aspir, drain, drain 2, dreadspike, cure III with fastcast = unlimited MP and never dies. And I find casting magic on mob and curing yourself give you alot more points than just pure melee damage. I have gotten 2600+ exp the last two campaign by just solo tanking, not doing much damage but keep casting drain drain II and aspir. Just wish I have more fastcast so I don't get interrupted when I cast blink or stoneskin.

Not to mention you also get promoted fast by doing endless campaign battles. I truely hope there will be some very very good point items in the last rank. A body armor with haste would make it all worth it lol.

Nameless I suggest you get doing your Camp. Ops and get those caught up while doing the Camp. battles. They are quick and easy and also I bet will play a role later on.

I agree this is one of my favorite expansions.

My Campaign ops are mostly up to date, other than I tried Delta strike II with others and the mobs disappear mid fight for 3 times xD.... Getting gold star tonight so I will have more Ops to do. I have trouble finding ppl to do the one that need 3-6 ppl: Pid spider I & II, Granite Rose I & II, and all the military training one. Other than that, I am almost 100% done with the other ones. We should know what AN items we will get from Rank 4 and 5 soon as the highest possible rank is Rank 3.2 now, and 10 more days we should see the first Rank 4. And perhaps that's when SE do the January patch if there is one.

I dont like campaign.. it's boring :/
and exp isn't nearly as good as a good exp party. I'd rather stick out the wait in aht urghan while talking to ppl and lfp, or form my own party than campaign

it's not even good for low lvl jobs. I went ther eon smn53 and got like 300exp after a 20minute bout. annoyed the tits offa me

+1 to the OP, my drk 66 shines in Campaign, and after I forgot about my drk with the lack of pts, I'm back enjoying slashin' and castin' my way through Quadav armies!

Gaining like 5/10k xp a day without seeking 2 hours, or waiting for a tank/healer/support of your lv range to pop :yes

It's also epic like a besieged, where everyone helps everyone, where you share joy for killing a boss, stress when big boss spams aoe, chill when the healers have to play it Solid Snake to raise you without the bad guys noticing while they're bashing the walls after a wipe, and more of that all, feeling the tension of being destiny-dependent when you're dead or with HP in red and seeing a sprite or a pixie roaming aroud. The joy of being blessed by a npc loveable creature, the hate of new-to-altana players who slaughters them then shout "loool killed a pixie me emo-evil-darker than dark-gonna go to hell".

It's epic! It's trhilling! It's... CAMPAIGN for a drk!!

Thanks to campaign, I can dream of be 75 within one year again!

I Commend you for having Metal Gear Solid References in your post.

Also i Created a campaign ls known as Fox-Hound so that friends can fight for a cause and which is the eradication of the beastmen. Also Campaign is great to do as any job. I do get more merits as drk in campaign than in a exp/merit pt. I'm Bronze Emblem and soon after work i will be silver emblem. Its way much better than beseiged and the rewards are much more benefitting.

The one thing that sucks is that mages dont heal anyone and they dont invite anyone to help each other out and when you do, they say i'm waiting for a pt invite.

Also i have to go in there as pld because i tend to rip everyones hate as a drk and i do sub sam as well.

Problem about campaign for drk is that we get so much hate so easily. No tank really do their job in campaign, in fact, they rather sit there and do weak damage, let other ppl have hate, and tank when they have to. Piss me off when duoing with a pld and I was tanking the whole fight, then when I am about to die, he won't even cure me lol. But that's about the only part that is bad... can't blame them tho, tanking don't get you more point. Tho I do have the feeling that whenever I tank and take alot of damage in a campaign, my point sky rocketed. Not sure if you get point from taking damage, I wouldn't doubt it tho.

Campaign is uber fun... only issue I have though is I really wish NPCs generated hate. I mistakingly attacked a mnk mob that was being attacked by like 20 npcs. After one swing that orc was like OH NOES YOU DON'T and proceeded to pound my face in. I really do need to get rdm to 37 damnit.

I hear ya'. I get annoyed by all the NPCs most of the time, but if they could build enmity I'd grow a uterus and have their babies. I also need RDM to 37. And maybe DNC. >_>

The good news is, because everyone's doing campaign there are fewer jobs seeking, and I can find a PT easier.

i dont really care to merit anymore, but a drk friend of mine has been telling me that he really hasnt been dealing with long lfg times. think he was saying he got a good 10 merits or so in one day on drk.

back when i actually did merit it was lfg on war or pray that ls would let me join, seems like that has changed a lot.
